I wrote a book for the first time and had no idea of the process for publishing my work. I contacted Panda Publications who had great reviews online. I do not regret this for one moment.
From the very start, the team guided me along the path including editing, advice and thorough checks from a devoted team of professionals. My book is being published on multiple platforms which would not have been possible without the Panda Publushing team behind me. A special mention to Emily and Maria whose experience and professionalism gave me so much confidence and security. I highly recommend Panda Publishing.

Avoid this agency at all cost!!

Awful is an understatement and they're the biggest scammers I've ever encountered, disguised as a business.

Firstly, my project with Panda Publishing started January 2026 and I was assigned Sam Turner. Sam was fantastic, an absoloute angel and genuinely took interest in my writing, or at least acted like it which was still encouraging. Within 1 month or roughly 6 weeks I was told Sam was on annual leave. I asked how long for and no one would give me a straight answer. I called everyday for 1 week asking when Sam was returning and everyone said 'I don't know'. FIRST RED FLAG

Then I was assigned Eric (can't remember his last name). Eric was again great at the start, we got on well and bounced ideas for my book off each other. Then Eric's wife 'got sick'. I say that loosely because there was a pattern that emerged down the line. Anyway, I never heard from Eric again. Mind you, right before this happened I asked Eric if the illustrations being produced were AI generated as they looked very AI indeed, he flat out denied it. We went back and forth for about a day or two with him constantly lying to me.
Joe Richardson (apparently one of the directors) finally came clean saying that the illustrations were 'AI Assited', although come to find out they are 100% AI generated. SECOND RED FLAG

Then I was assigned another person, Sarah Winfield. Mind you this is now the 3rd person that's been pushed on to my project. To say the least, Sarah was absolutely dreadful! Her competency was questionable and she did not assist with anything when it came to my book. She was terrible with responses and yes, I appreciate she was working on other projects alongside mine, but waiting up to 6-7 hours at a time for a response to the simplest of questions was unacceptable. I was constantly chasing for updates, feedbacks, suggestions etc. I was also advised to have all 42 of my poems illustrated which is a huge no no. All they cared about was me spending the maximum amount of money and nothing else. I opted for only 18 illustrations which suited my style of writing a hundred times better.

They did not edit my book properly (hardly). I left mistakes on purpose in my manuscript just to see if they were actually doing their job and I'm sad to say, they sent me the 'edited version', which was exactly what I had initially sent them. NO EDITING WAS DONE.

I always asked what happened to Sam and Eric to which the explanation changed. I was told Sam left the business and Eric wasn't back yet. Then I was told they both left the business. Then I was told Eric is on holiday. Lies after lies. Mind you this was all in the space of a day by multiple agents!!!! I called using different numbers so they would not know it was me initially. THIRD AND FOURTH RED FLAG

Joe Richardson is absolutely vile. No customer service or etiquette. His attitude is awful and would often snap at me for asking basic questions. He honestly brought me to tears seeing that I dedicated my book to my late mother which he was 100% aware of. I got emotional because I was so desperate to get my book published and the whole process was causing me stress. I was also promised and reassured that my poetry book would be finished by 12th June. I felt doubtful based on how much more we had left to do, but they reassured me 3 times. Do you think my book was completed on the deadline date?! Definitely not lol. It was wishful thinking on my part to be honest.
I ended up having to use AI to generate 13 of 18 illustrations and asked for a part refund of what I had paid. Joe tried to hardest to upsell other services to me and actually, dare I say it, got annoyed and rude when I did not want to pay for anything else. I simply wanted my refund and that was that.

By the end, I just played nice so I could get my project completed as soon as possible and NEVER have to deal with them again.
THIS COVERS THE MAIN EVENTS THAT HAPPENED WITH THIS DREADFUL PUBLISHING AGENCY, THIS IS NOT EVERYTHING THOUGH!

Another thing to note, they are money grabbers. They are quick to respond and are so attentive when it comes to paying for illustrations or any other bullshxt additions they try and sell you, but to work on your actual project they drag the hell out of their feet.
By the time my book was completed and was ready for publishing, I just didn't care anymore. I lost interest in my work, the effort it took for me to write my poems and I wanted nothing to do with the book anymore. They put me through mental stress to the point I didn't care about MY own project anymore. That in itself should speak volumes.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! I cannot stress this enough. This was my first time ever working with Panda and it will surely be the last.

I am very happy with my experience using Panda Publishing. The whole team is so very professional and I must thank Rayan, Joe, Sarah, Rayn and everybody else who works at Panda Publishing.

Several people have voiced their disappointment that their books have not reached all the 40-plus sites listed by Panda in its basic contract.
There is a very simple reason for this, and I believe it is only right authors should be aware.
In the UK, Gardner Books is the primary wholesaler feeding major retailers like Waterstones, W.H. Smith, Foyles, and Hive, Gardners explicitly requires every title to be registered with the Nielsen BookData database. Registration is standard publishing practice. It is not, and should never be, an add-on.
Without that registration, a book will not be ordered or stocked by these companies. Or, indeed, by anyone who uses Gardners, including libraries. It will not be listed.
In spite of what that contract says, the promised distribution will never happen, since they do not register the ISBNs and Metadata with Nielsen, who provide listing to Gardners and others. Communications with Nielsen and Gardners confirmed that without that registration, your book will not feed into Gardners, and hence other major sites, including libraries.
This is nothing to do with Ingramspark. They are the printers, and although they have a good network, they, too, confirm that unless the book is registered with Nielsen, they can only suggest. Wholesalers and retailers in the UK will not list it. Indeed, if you were to go into Waterstones, for example, they would find no record of it.
As someone who, in a previous life, worked for libraries and a city publisher, I made the assumption that they had followed correct practice and had registered with Nielsen. If they had not, why list 44 outlets?
So, whoever you are employing as a Publishing Agent, check first before you sign any contract. Disappointment when you have worked so hard has a bitter taste.

Thank you for ringing me. I don't think you quite undertand, or maybe all is now clear after our long amd detailed conversation when I explained the practice fully. When Panda promises 40 plus sites, they need to have registered the ISBNs with Nielsens, who will then feed the info to Gardners, Hive, Waterstones etc If you do not do this, you cannot possibly fulfil the terms of your contract. But I think all should be now clear on your next action?

I had no idea what to expect having a book published but Oliver made the whole process run smoothly. He listened to me and guided me throughout. The finished book exceeded my expectations. This has been one of the best experiences of my life seeing my ideas and drawings come to life. Fantastic publishing company, keep up the amazing work Oliver and Team.

Panda Publish UK is great especially my contact -Oliver. Oliver was kind, courteous and encouraging. He also had a good positive attitude which I enjoyed. As this wa my first book, Oliver was able to guide me through the process and my viewpoints were taken across. I am very happy with how my debuts book has turned out. Oliver, the editorial and design teams have done a great job and I would recommend them to anyone looking to publish a book. The only soggy issue I have is with the price of everything, I know self publishing can be expensive and the prices are what they ate but Oliver resoected my wishes. He gave me the options advised of the benefits and if there was something I did not want to go ahead with he was fine with that. The service was very good, there is a weekly check in and if I need anything, Oliver is only a message away. 100% recommend

Ill give panda publushing 5 stars i was very nervous at first about starting my book journey but working with chris stewart was brillant he was very professional and talked me threw everthing.i have two books all on platforms my fathers ghost and the charity shop queen and three more to go chris was proffessional i cant wait to start my journey as an Author my books look amazing im so pleazed with the outcome so anyone starting there book journey id recommend panda publishing 100 per cent thankyou so.much chris and your brillant team on starting my journey thankyou maria lomas

Emily has been a fabulous team player she found it hard to understand me but we got through everything in the end.

I purchased the self publishing 40+ platforms which cost me £500
I was also charged £150 for 20 copies
They have not kept to this package details , it’s been over 3 months now and the book has only been published on Amazon kindle Uk It’s NOT a global platform !! I’ve had to make an account myself which is very stressful when you don’t know what you’re doing!!
They take days to answer any questions and fob you off with stupid tasks that can take hours to complete
I was expecting the book to be on all these platforms by now!!
I will not be using this company again as the package was £500 and they are basically just printing your book

As a new author I was a little confused and apprehensive about choosing a publisher but having read the reviews, I decided to go with Panda Publishing. I was not disappointed. From my initial contact, Levi helped put my fears aside and helped me through every step of the publishing. His friendly personality and genuine excitement to see someone publish their book is amazing . I cannot thank him enough. What a pleasure it was to work with a great bunch of people and in particular Luke Taylor. He kept informed of the progress from start to finish. The quality of the book and the level of service provided was first class. I would highly recommend this company for your publishing requirements. You will lose your time and your money. After more than a year and 5 project leaders, I got the review of a 4-page children's book and the pictures, which apparently can not be fit into a book in the usual way. After a bad review, they agreed to refund part of the money. But they do not send as much as they told. So I got almost a 50% refund, and nothing I can use. Your choice now.
Addendum. Apparently I have to remove the review, because they are telling me they will take further steps to sort this that I do not going to like. Whateverthat means. (apparently I have to remove the review)

A genuinely positive experience with Panda Publishing from start to finish.

I did have a few trust issues at the beginning, but Maria Max and Luke quickly put me at ease with their professionalism and patience.

Maria’s guidance throughout the process was steady and reassuring. She truly led the process with calm authority and care. She was my main point of contact throughout, always composed knowledgeable, and completely in control of every stage. I felt she genuinely championed my novel, and that level of leadership and reassurance made all the difference.

Max, on the other hand opened my eyes to what is possible. Although I chose not to pursue extensive marketing across larger scale platforms at this stage, he showed me what can be achieved, whether now or in the future. That knowledge and belief will stay with me.

Luke’s dedication in finalising the Amazon self-publishing stage was outstanding. He saw it through to the very end, always pleasant, responsive, and never making anything feel like too much trouble.

Panda have been first class ever since I started working with them over a year ago. I never imagined my book would ever be published. But I hadn't reckoned on the hard work, the speed of action and the sheer determination of the team there to get the job done. I have worked closely with several people there, Emily Richards being the current Project Manager. She keeps me posted on current marketing and other developments, is full of ideas, and is a joy to work with.

Reasonably priced and I am very pleased with the final result. The team were helpful and responsive throughout. The process did take a little longer than originally anticipated, but overall it was a positive experience.
