Cotswolds and Oxford.

The overall holiday was very good, all we expected what let us down is that we didn't get the seats on the coach we booked,these were three rows behind the driver,we ended up on the kerb side of the coach in seats with very little leg and foot room and over half of the window was blocked with the disabled access door, this totally spoilt the coach experience.The driver offered seats at the back of the coach which we accepted,but no explanation how this happened,

I'm afraid that the new coach arrived with the seat numbering the opposite way to our advertised seating plan, this will be changed as soon as possible and we're sorry for any inconvenience. Going forwards we have also blocked off seats 9 & 10 to avoid them being booked due to the large panel required for the disabled access door. Great holiday with very good weather

Great holiday with very good weather. Fantastic hotel at the Merton but the representative Elaine was terrible. She met the group at Jersey but at first asked the first few to stop where they were , in the middle of the way out therefore creating a blockage before telling them to go outside to a “blue bus”.She told us to meet her at 5 pm and she was quite rude to some who arrived a few minutes late. She had brought luggage labels for Poole instead of Guernsey “ because usually people go to Guernsey first”. All the excursions she was promoting were for ‘her other hotels’ and none were for Monday or Tuesday, our free days. She did arrange for a coach to pick about 14 of us up on the Tuesday to the war hospital for £10 each. At the docks going to Guernsey she told a couple in our group to stop checking the bags in because they were wrong, then realised we were Palmers and she was wrong. One of our group from Whitkirk is a properly trained guide and could have done far, far better. I would be ashamed to use this lady if it was my company.
Guernsey Peninsula hotel was very good except they were far too busy on the Friday evening and service was slow and the food was not up to standard but the manager apologised .
East Cliff Hotel in Eastbourne , we christened a modern day Fawlty Towers. Only three members of staff at any time, bar only open before evening meal and then no staff. Meal with vegetables of the day was frozen peas , green beans and carrots and sadly swimming in Luke warm watery gravy. Most had a good laugh and didn’t let it spoil a good holiday.
Would have liked more time in Guernsey so we could have visited Sark.
The only real complaint was Elaine, and we thought you were wasting money paying her. If you have the Whitkirk lady on future trips ask her to do it instead. I am sure she would have been willing.

Door to door holiday from Newcastle to Jersey this was the best holiday very well organised, literally door to door. Well done Palmers will use this again

Fabulous experience literally door to door, both in resort and at home. Our flight was delayed on coming home and missed taxi but a call to Palmers (I think Mark) brought the taxi back in 15minutes. Jersey hotel was a good pick also by Palmers, thank you B & P Malins Consett

Galway and Dublin

The holiday to galway and Dublin was a good trip
Hotel excellent food plentiful and day trips very good
The day out to the Manor House and famine museum needed an extra hour to be able to see the gardens
The only disappointment was the lack of coach breaks throughout the journey home

A very enjoyable holiday in Ireland.

The home pick up is an added bonus when booking a Palmer’s holiday. The taxi arrived on time for my outward journey and was waiting on my return. Although the journey to Republic of Ireland was long the coach was comfortable and the crossing to Ireland was smooth. The Bloomfield House hotel is worthy of it’s 4 star rating. It’s a really nice hotel set in lovely spacious grounds. The room was large,clean and very comfortable. The swimming pool was excellent. Food was good overall and staff very friendly. The trips out were very good indeed- made extra special by having a tour guide in Dublin and also at the Famine Museum.The main driver Andy was very pleasant and obliging. I would certainly be happy to book with Palmer’s again and recommend the company to friends.

Wouldn't stay at the Cumberland Hotel again

Though the holiday in general was good, for my wife and myself it was let down by our unsatisfactory experience at the Cumberland Hotel, Bournemouth.
We were in room 319 which was a very small double room with a wall mounted TV that didn’t work and an outside view of a wall and car park.
The food was hit and miss, served on a very cramped table in a nicely decorated but poorly organised restaurant, in our opinion not even two star standard.
We complained to the front desk who were unable to sort things out and we also let our tour company, Palmer’s Travel, know.
Please Note: This hotel has one very small lift for guests. It just holds 3 people without luggage. Not very good when coach parties of 40 people are trying to get to their rooms. Many older and disabled guests had to struggle up a rather rundown, steep staircase to reach their room, ours was over 70 steps!

The hotel was first class and the meals
were all delicious with good service.
The only problem was the poor lift which only accommodated three people

I had a problem with another guest at…

I had a problem with another guest at the hotel fortunately I could be moved to another room
The service in the restaurant was alright but the last meal I had which was fish and chips was poor quality. Also the bacon for breakfast was poorly cooked. So much for being a Marco Pierre restaurant. I don't like Folkestone there were people sleeping rough beside the hotel.

Visit to Hampton Court Palace and Windsor

Personally I would have preferred to have more time in Windsor. 2 hours didn’t allow for a visit to the castle or grounds. 7 hours in Hampton Court Palace was a bit long, perhaps make it shorter and go somewhere else in the afternoon. The hotel was nice, food good but a bit isolated in the middle of an industrial area.

Lovely weekend!⁰
Well planned, giving us time in Windsor, Hampton Court Palace and Henley on Thames. Lovely hotel with smiling staff, nothing too much trouble. Very friendly and efficient driver who got us everywhere we needed to be on time. Windsor and Henley on Thames were beautiful but can't recommend Hampton Court Palace enough, Altogether a very enjoyable weekend and good value for money.

Great trip

Great trip, we booked to see Hampton Court but we enjoyed seeing Windsor and Henley just as much. Andy our driver was great and so helpful. The hotel was also excellent with the food choices being very good. Overall a really good enjoyable value for money trip

Excellent holiday,well organised with lots of visits and enjoyable things to do. However right at the end, taxis to take us home were very disorganised, resulting in one lady having no transport to take her home at all!

The Palmer Experience

Loved having the taxi from home to the coach and return. We found that so helpful.
The hotel and staff were really nice and we particularly appreciated our luggage being taken to and from our room.
Because the Cheese Factory was closed at Cheddar Gorge, we didn't stop but found the extra time at Wells difficult to fill in - 4 Hours. A great pity.

Very interesting places to visit, comfortable coach, helpful and friendly coach driver, good places to visit. Disappointed about not seeing Bourton on the water, but would have liked longer in Cirencester.. Difficult balance with where to visit. Long day with Broadway/ train trip etc.. - maybe could have omitted one of the visits...
