Ordered WinterMax Waterproof Barefoot shoes November 2025. I had ordered from this company before with no issues and naively assumed that as the name was OutdoorHeld UK I was dealing with a UK company. I ordered the same size of shoes as before. The order took a long time to arrive and were far too small despite being the correct size ordered. I checked the webpage and discovered on scrolling down the order page that the advice was to order a size larger. I followed the complicated Return Information precisely and paid the extra £17.60 for International parcels. Some weeks later I used the Royal Mail Tracking number only to discover that the 'recipient refused to accept the parcel'. About 2 months later the shoes were returned to me. So I have expensive unused shoes that I cannot wear. I do suspect that their Returns Policy is just for show. I will NEVER use this company again. There are other companies that sell Barefoot shoes that are far better.

Woeful experience, use at your peril, ordered shoes, unsuitable, returned as directed, tracked £11+, to Austria, been six weeks now, I've emailed, stock, glib, answer, it's cost me near on £70 with shoes and postage, do yourself a favour, and go elsewhere.

Totally sham you may as well say you’ve been scammed waited weeks for item although I tried canceling the item,it comes it could fit child then to be told returning is gonna cost me lot money and I can return with the paperwork surprise surprise no paper work they won’t except it back and parcel most probably get lost were do we stand with such appalling service gutted ain’t no we’re near how I feel

Do not use this company. I don’t think there are any intentions to send anything. I ordered over 3 weeks ago. They never communicated with me. I’ve raised a dispute with my card co. Outdiirhekd still can’t tell me when the order will come but won’t refund until I return the goods!

Order on line 3 weeks ago a heated vest they cant give a delivery date tried to cancel said it was not possible although item had not being sent, I did it in a rush I normally check out company’s like this but in this case I didn’t, just be warned not confident I will actually get anything. Keep well clear

Don't order from this company they Sat thy have a fefund policy if you return items but won't despite following their instructions on how to get a refund I bought a smart vest £79 in exactly same packaging and provided proof of purchase and completed returns form only to get it returned back to me .I was out of pocket for £79 plus postage £18.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They make their website look like they are in the UK but they are not. What a nightmare if they send you the wrong size and you need to return or exchange any item! You have to pay postal charges, custom charges and, STILL, when the package gets to Austria, as it has been my case, they refuse to accept it, gets returned back to you (if you paid enough to track it) and you are stuck in an endless loop, with them asking you to pay more 'custom taxes' and postal fees to send the package back to them again. IF this is a real company and not a scam, they provide a very very poor service! AVOID!

I am 78 years old and ordered a heated waistcoat to help keep me warm when fishing in the winter. I ordered a small men’s, a small women’s was delivered with a L label on it. Customer service advised that I return the item and they would replace it for the correct size. I returned the item paying the postage £15.40 for something that was not my fault. The courier has been unable to return the item to the address provided and the company will not give a refund for the item or the postage
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY in my view they are fraudsters

Shoes were not up to quality, and when I tried to return I was given strange specific details eg. paying for customs back into Austria. Furthermore they rejected the return with no reason provided so I will now pursue a chargeback through the bank.

Based in Austria not UK (although website called Outdoorheld.uk) could not provide delivery date after we ordered (products were gifts and needed by specific date), so we asked to cancel but were told it’s too late to cancel, even though goods had not shipped & no delivery tracking information could be provided?

This is clearly a tactic so they keep the order live knowing full well returning to Austria is not straight forward and most likely some people won’t return so they keep your money.

We have shipped back for refund and DPD cannot deliver so goods being returned to sender.

Best advise is order from another business, these guys are cowboys!!!

A heated vest was ordered with size promise . When it arrived , needless to say , the vest was much too small. As other customers have discovered it becomes a farce to attempt returning the goods being told that the item will not be refunded basically.
We have forwarded the vest to an address in the Peoples Republic of China but see little hope for a refund. Other people have been given return address's in Graz (Austria) , Hong Kong, Amsterdam (Holland )and various ficticious address's.

Quite simply this company/companies are a front for 'scamming' the public. The consumer acts in the uk appear to allow such behaviour even when this behaviour falls within 'cross border' 'conning'.
We have obtained an address within the UK and Trading Standards are being informed as to this criminal act.....false pretences etc.
Will we get our money back ? Most unlikely but worth trying. The whole sorry story is immoral, criminal and stealing peoples money by any form is a disgrace.

Don’t buy from this company. Not based in the UK.
I am a pensioner and get cold in the winter so my wife bought me a heated gilet / vest for me to wear. Size ordered was an XL, size received was labelled 3XL but was in fact more like a M. Measured and compared to their sizing chart and the chest was 8cm smaller then the XL size and 10cm smaller across the wrist than published on their site.
Customer service answered my email wanting to give me a 15% discount if I kept the gilet which didn’t fit!!
I asked how do I return the parcel and was told I had to pay for the return postage which I then find is to their factory in Amsterdam! As their website suggests its in the UK I was shocked by where they are based and their attitude- no help given even when I sent them a picture of the item with a tape measure showing the size problem. My wife is very upset and now she needs to find the money to send it back and wait until she gets the money back before she can get me a replacement.

Heated vets came after 15 days from ordering. Order 2XL according to their sizing chart, but its more like a medium. Trying to send it back. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. They are NOT UK based as I was led to believe. Fingers crossed for refund.

Update: 1/1/2026. Returned vest (cost £18) to given address in Gratz, Austria, which I now know is just a shipping warehouse. Vest has now been returned to me and company are saying it was never delivered. Looks like £80 scammed.

I thought they were based in the UK but after placing the order and chasing it up ,taking forever to come i requested my money back it hadn't been processed due to there still being no delivery date after 3 weeks. I was told I would have to wait for it to be delivered then try and send it back. Steer clear of this company they are scammers.

Do not use this company. Emails come from Hong Kong. Tried to cancel 2 days after placing order but was told this was not possible and I have to wait for delivery then return parcel. This message came from HK. So this means I will have to bear the cost of returning product. This company is NOT in the uk so can bypass our consumer laws! Quality of products on website are misleading.

Absolute scam - they are not based in the UK, they are based in the Netherlands. Refunds are almost non-existent. Took me four months, about twenty emails, reporting to Trading Standards, then reporting to UKICC who deal with cross border disputes , and finally receiving a refund on the goods only - nothing back for the postage or the taxes paid to return the item, which were almost the equivalent of the item cost itself. I so wish I had seen the other posts about this company. Should be shut down!

I made a purchase in good faith and waited for a delivery date. This wasn't forthcoming and I tried to cancel the order and get a refund. Refund was refused even though the product hadn't shipped. I'm still awaiting notification of shipping and the delivery date.

Overpriced shoes that are marketed as some revolutionary shoe when they're basically just water shoes but with a ridiculous price tag. Can be found on amazon, the exact pair, for A LOT cheaper!
