ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW. Most BTL investors tend to have done their research around finance and mortgages, especially with the deluge of resources available online. You can get that feel initially if the broker is up to the job. The whole point of a mortgage broker is to 1) secure appropriate funding, 2) amplify your voice and represent your interest to the lender, and 3) reduce uncertainty around the whole application process. I came across a company called “Our Mortgage Broker” by chance, after a bad experience from high-street brokers, who were deficient in knowledge, aptitude, and connections around the specialist lending market. “Penny wise, pound foolish” comes to mind. A lesson learnt.

Nevertheless, I spoke to the MD of “Our Mortgage Broker” about my unique circumstances as buyer with no BTL experience. In fact, I was trying to buy two properties! He assessed my needs and directed me onto the capable broker, Neelam Babber, who listened diligently to the funding needs for the two properties. Don’t let her calm nature and demure fool you. She is dynamite! If you need the job done, certainly look no further. The value proposition was great, the administration of documents was seamless, and the service was just slick.

In exactly 15 working days, Neelam was able to collect all my personal and financial data, query entries in the financial statements and information, procured quotations for the two properties, secured mortgages in principle, submitted both applications, arranged for the valuations, and secured mortgage offers.

During all this time, I was well informed about the process and progress via their amazing document portal, via email, WhatsApp, and Phone calls. From the initial call, until getting my mortgage offer, Neelam was dedicated, attentive, and professional. She has now set my expectations for service benchmarked for excellence.

Deepesh Sharma, our Broker was thorough, courteous, patient and always on hand for advice, he worked at speed to get our mortgage organised and over the line. Very satisfied with the service.
