Absolutely disgusting!! Feels like we've been scammed. No phone lines, online portal is useless. We are now left with no insurance due to 'lack of communications' - we missed a letter because we were on holiday and came back to this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Avoid at all costs. Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Took over £100 of me even though I cancelled writhin the cooling off period. No phone lines and online portal is a shambles. Took about 2 hours to get an online chat. Save your money and go to a company that has telephones. I rarely write bad reviews but feel I must.

As soon as my cooling off period had ended this outfit then tried to stiff me for another £130. They claim the policy had changed due to my withholding information on my application. This is not true. Even if it were, this bunch of crooks had opportunity during my obligatory cooling off period to invent a way of extorting money from the poor.
They will try it with you. Do not trust them. Go elsewhere.
OneCall will no doubt write a response, they will appear to be friendly and helpful in order to try and undermine my review. Do yourselves a favour, don't believe them.
And for the employee of these thieves, are you proud to be taking money from honest hard-working people who are struggling? Will your mother and father be proud of you?

What is the point of buying insurance when the provider punishes the consumer for no reason?
It would be cheaper to pay a fine for not having insurance.
Update: Now I've complained about the way I've been treated, they have cancelled my insurance as a punishment. My premium has rocketed as a result. This is criminal extortion.

They don’t deserve one star. I’m a new customer, paid the first instalment, registers online to see my documents. That’s was 4 days ago. Shocked to see the message that I’m not covered until the documents are available and they’re not listed. So I’d been driving without insurance cover. Impossible to contact them to hear what’s going on. The published number only deals with claims!!! Referred to their live chat, live chat not available without a policy. So going round in circles. Fortunately I paid with my credit card so I’ll request a chargeback. Now with Sheila’s Wheels who did a great job and they have a phone number so you can speak to someone. Pretty basic stuff. This is the worst company I’ve come across. Don’t touch them with a barge pole. They should be closed down

The type of company no one wants to end up dealing with - you have been warned! I literally feel shell shocked, mugged and robbed of my hard earned money. Usually story shopped around for a better deal on building/contents insurance. Found a "perfect" deal honestly answered all the questions, quoted and accepted - all fine and dandy. 4 weeks before insurance cover started e -mailed me to let me know not covered for burglary or flood. Went on only way of contact the live chat (where you have time to read War and Peace in the queuing system) - yes I can swop to a more expensive insurer that would cover me for flood. Absolutely fine as I would have the correct cover for our needs. 2 weeks later not heard anything so contacted One Call again (and re-read War and Peace while waiting) Low and behold still waiting to hear from the insurer - obviously using pigeon post instead of modern instantaneous electronic communications. In the meantime the policy that was totally inadequate for our needs, not covered for flood or burglary, started some 4 weeks later. Contacted One Call yet again over delay in swooping to adequate insurance to discover that because of One Call 4 week delays it would now cost an additional £55.53 to cancel a policy I never wanted and an additional £30 for a set up fee for the adequate policy they still had not sorted out some 5 weeks later. So £85 costs for a suitable policy in addition to the £49.99 initial set up fee for a wholly inadequate policy we did not want - £135 for nothing!!! Took the cheaper option and cancelled the whole lot for £55.53 (even though it was their fault entirely). This should surely be illegal being robbed for a non existent service. Go there and you will regret it!!!

Absolutely appalling company and as with other contributors you cannot contact them other than live chat which I have just found out to my cost that due to my impending house move they want over £200 in cancellation fees for a lousy £13 pm bricks and mortar policy AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I didn't even want to give them 1 star as it is not deserved in my opinion. This company 'insured' my house for just over a month, asked for proof of incidents almost 5 years ago that they stated I hadn't declared, when they would not accept what I gave them, they cancelled my policy - and charged over £100 in total to do so. I then find out that a cancelled policy means that very few insurers will then touch you as the cancelled policy has been logged under of 'misinterpretation' (ie fraud!) on the insurance database. They are refusing to change this. I am furious and trying to sort this out but in the meantime - avoid this lot like the plague!

I would'nt recomend this company to anyone as i recently insured with this company and was asked to check the policy details upon doing this i found that they had put the wrong model number of my car on this policy when i informed them of this they tried to charge me £57 for there mistake but after much arguing and being threatened with the ombudsman they reduced this down to £18 but im still paying £18 for there mistake so while they may look cheap on the comparsing site when you have to pay for there mistakes there not so competitive
Unacceptable contact options; dreadful
Its 2022 yet trying to contact one call insurance via email is impossible. Why? Not everyone prefers to use 'chat' systems or telephone, or having to send paper messages so why 'one call' don't you get up to date and offer an email for contact. First principle of customer service - help the customer, or is it more convenient for you to do what you prefer regardless? Awful customer service and I'm not going back.

Beware of the limitations of their free breakdown cover
I went with One call after they were returned as the cheapest car insurance on compare the market. It included free break down cover. When activated, I found that if I was outside of a 10mile radius from home, I would have to pay a £3 per mile charge for every mile i was away from home. I had to upgrade my policy for £39 extra making it not the cheapest policy. They did give me a £10 refund when I complained about feeling misled due to the lack of clarity about the limitations of 'free' breakdown on comparisons sites and have said they will work to rectify this.
TERRIBLE COMMUNICATIONS
This company is the hardest one I have ever tried to contact. They will only do it by LIVE CHAT which most time takes for ever to get through. It has taken me 4 days to stop a renewal. I wrote a letter of complaint but no reply. All their emails are a No reply address which I find very rude.

Cheap car insurance for a learner then once they have passed they provide an extortionate price for the newly passed driver if you cancel they policy they charge the complete price of the policy. So win win for them. Find a different provider for your learner that has good rates once they have passed

I advised them by telephone that I did not want to auto update my car insurance weeks before it was due to update, nearly 2 hours on the phone getting through I also wrote to confirm this and lo and behold they advise they’ve updated it and taken the money before it was due. It’s impossible to speak to anyone the live chat doesn’t work and no one answers the phone or replies to letters. Avoid them at all costs. I’m now insured with 2 companies and trying to get a refund via a bank who also don’t employ enough people to answer the phone.
I received a telephone call which advised the person I spoke to did not update their system with my request to cancel auto renew. They refunded the money paid plus £30 for inconvenience. My advice is never tick auto renew.

I paid the yearly annual insurance, although had the property on the market. Month 5 the house was sold. Insurers refused to refund balance premiums for the 7 months paid upfront, citing cancellation fees.
When all utility companies refund amounts, it is difficult to understand why an insurance policy is any different.
