First visit to omniplex
Just been to the new Sunderland one today and apart from a few hiccups on the way into the movie with my booking I found the place quite nice, clean, tidy and the staff were very helpful and polite as a disabled customer the girl helped me to my seat with my things etc and I was impressed with the self service screens and choice of drinks and snacks
Not truly Unlimited
I have been an omniplex member for the past four months. I only just found out that you can't watch the same film more than once. This to me does not make the omnipass unlimited.
I booked to see a film but was unable to attend due to illness. I then tried to rebook the same film on a different day only to be charged full adult price.
It's probably worth just paying the little bit extra and joining Cineworld for a truly unlimited pass. With Cineworld you also will get food discounts by up to 25% whereas omniplex gives you nothing.
I can't see how Omniplex will stay open with this business model.

My experience today was not great unfortunately. This used to be a lovely cinema when it was Empire but sadly today it felt like it is being run down. The seats have rips and there is a bad smell coming thru the air conditioning in the corridors (mouldy and gassy smelling). The toilets near to screen 7 (ladies) smelt like they’d not been cleaned in months. Such a shame. Luckily the ticket price was only £4.95 each otherwise I would have given one star. I think a bit of cleaning and a check of the air conditioning units would go a long way. Also could do with serving hot drinks. Miss that.

I went to Arklow omniplex last night to see Dunne 2 and with 30 mins to go the projector cut out. We were the last screen left with a movie on in the cinema and were told we could wait for the movie to come back on or get complementary tickets. However, it felt as we were being rushed out and the workers didn’t want us to stay as they wanted to close early and go home. They were very unhelpful when I told them I wanted a refund rather than complementary tickets as I was from Waterford and wouldn’t be back up. I was told that the complementary tickets were “the best they could offer” when in fact this was bare minimum. There was no manager there to talk to and I was left feeling very unsatisfied.

Website caused an issue where it don't provide the dates I selected which resulted in a simple error of the tickets being for the wrong day.
No - problem - I'll just phone the cinema and get the problem fixed - except the phone numbers have been removed & instead you must file a slow ticket method - still not resolved.
Also the removal of student & senior citizen discount is disgraceful by a corporation so large which such a large monopoly in the market.
We were double booked for the 17.40…
We were double booked for the 17.40 showing on Wonka in Screen 6 on Sunday the 10th of June. This caused a lot of confrontation between people who where seated and those who were trying to sit. The kids were very confused and were then getting upset that we would either not be sitting together or not be able to watch the movie. We sat down in other seats temporarily and adults requested my children youngest 6 to move while I was trying to sort this out. When I got back the kids were standing at the back on there own looking a bit frightened by what had happened. Something I was not happy for my children to experience. The cinema was so heavily double booked we could not get seats together so I requested to move to the only other child suitable screening which was Wish. I did this as not to upset the four children who were very excited to go to the cinema. Although Jodie who was working at the time was very accommodating, I would like a full refund for the inconvenience and upset this has caused and acknowledgment by Omniplex that this is something that we will not encounter when booking in the future.

Booked wrong cinema by mistake
I mistakenly booked seats at the Bangor, Northern Ireland cinema when I thought I was booking in Bangor, Wales. I sent a request for a refund as soon as I realised the mistake and a few hours later I got an email to say my refund was being processed. I am thoroughly impressed by Omniplex.

I think it’s a good place to watch movies of course. My problem which annoys me is the whole age ratings. Me and my friends (15) went to go see the new Insidious movie because we have seen all of them are love horror movies. We had also seen scream a few weeks ago and didn’t have this problem. But when I showed them my ticket they asked for ID to prove I was 16. And I just think it’s stupid because if we want to watch the movie, we clearly know what it’s about. We know it’s a horror movie and we are choosing to watch it. If we get terrible nightmares or get terrified that’s our own fault. If we want to see a movie we should be able to. Anyone can watch the movie online anyways. We had to go home and watch it on Soap2day in my house. It was brilliant but again we would’ve loved to see it in the cinema. Just think it’s a bit stupid. I know they have to ask for ID, but really we look old enough and we are. Fair enough not letting a 10 year old in but teenagers? Who chose and want to see the movie? So annoying.

Kids and cousin waited for the New Minion movie. Went to the evening show. Granted it was a hot summer's day. But for them to have to leave halfway through the movie because of the heat and they only have air con in the main foyer is crazy. I was told that they only use air circulation systems not aircon in the actual movies and because they could not offer any kind of refund. Very dissapointing service and down €32 - At least Odeon has Aircon !
Wouldnt let me change tickets
Booked surprise tickets to cinema for myself and two children. Hour and half after booking I found out the children had seen that cartoon already so rang omniplex Dundalk to ask if I could change to another cartoon…on at same time basically,same price,same number of people literally just wanted to go into diff screen. The booking wasn’t until the following day and within hour and a half of me booking but what I got was if it’s not flexi ticket it’s our policy to not change tickets. I’ve never heard anything so ludicrous that the children’s tickets couldn’t be changed even though other cartoon wasn’t even booked out.Awful customer service. Will not be using omniplex again. Not customer service more like customer careless!!!!!

Avoid if covid vary
First time venturing to the cinema since covid started. Bought our tickets under the premise that the seats either side of us would be kept empty as a way of social distancing from others only to find that tickets had been sold for those seats and we had to then be seated directly between two other groups. Absolutely disgusted the omniplex lied to us and chose making a few extra pounds over customer safety! Was unable to relax during the movie and will not be visiting again any time soon.
