Old school RuneScape is an amazing game, forever grateful for the developers

The company was acquired by a private equity group a couple of years ago. Since the acquisition, prices for services have increased dramatically (88% in some cases) but the quality has not increased in a way commensurate to the severity of the price hikes. Customer service is notoriously bad; there isn't any real way to receive support for account issues, despite repeated promises that such support will be added to the company as a result of the aforementioned price hikes.
Currently, Jagex and their products exist solely to extract as much money as possible in the short term with no regards to the consequences. Pricing of even the most basic service, one account for the Old School RuneScape servers, is on par with industry behemoths such as Blizzard or Square Enix, where users will receive significantly more content and therefore value with their money.
Stay away from this company and their games. The main game is a sinking ship, but they'll keep charging for the lifeboats.

I am Unable to sumbit an appeal offence because the hijacker has sumbit appeal before i recovered my account back.

The account got permanent banned while it is hacked.

I am the original owner the account is created : 11-11-2022 in the Netherlands in Lelystad.

The hijacker infected my laptop with malware and trojans. On my laptop was this virus called : RAT Remote Acces Trojan installed.

After having a new laptop i got no problems with my security but my account is disabled.
Can u please let me appeal my self !

My laptop gotten stolen after 1+ year the police got my laptop back. At the time i got my laptop back the account was permanent banned they abused my account.
and they did to appeal it true my laptop because i did not notic the firewall was off and ther was virus on it.

Please Jagex can i have my account back.

Do >not< put time and effort into this game. It is a complete waste of time and honestly heart breaking. I love this game, played it for 100,s and 1000,s of hours, and all of it got ruined because my account got hacked. It happened 3 times and I am not one to click on links, open dodgy emails, or give my private information out to anyone who askes. Yet somehow my account got hacked 3 times to be used for botting..... Each time when I would take a break and stop playing the game for a few years. Unless you play 24/7 and can notice these things without ever taking a break then you will be at risk of losing everything.... I can only assume brute force was used on my password somehow. Then again I have literally no idea. I am only guessing.

I had 2 bans on the same day of 21st of Jan in 2016 when I took a break, which I managed to get appealed when I came back to play around 2019 ish. I lost ALL my items, including all quest items. Plus I had to redo ALL the quests again since all I got back was my stats. Then I played for a few years, completed almost all the quests, upped my stats even more, grinded hard to get gold and buy decent gear for the time, probably mid tier that cost mills per piece, not the top tier stuff, and then took another break for a few years after some burnout.

Then it happened again.... While I was gone my account (after changing the password again and following their security steps) got banned for botting.... I literally have no idea how that even happened and it makes me SO angry to think about how screwed over I have been with this. I grinded HARD by watching videos, reading up on things, learning the best money makers and grinding them for DAYS at a time between progressing, and was SO close to having all the quests completed. I did it all with HARD WORK. And then while I take a break my account somehow gets used for botting again and this time it is permanent. My appeal was not even listened to in the slightest.

I LOVED that game, put in YEARS of hard work and effort, built it back up from nothing after already being wronged once, and then have it ALL ruined and completely gone now. Anyone thinking of playing this game? DONT. Even just a chance of wasting your time and having it all ruined is NOT worth it. Their support is not human, they do not care if you get wrongfully banned, and there is ZERO help or concern even after buying SO MUCH membership for my bloody account. They do not care. They want your money and don't care if you lose it all. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this time. Personally I am heartbroken. It is NOT worth it.

They make a game called old school RuneScape. I spend the last 2 months playing 24/7 to accomplish something.

I just logged on and the game has been changed and my achievements and accomplishments have been removed. I no longer can use an item I worked extremely hard for.

This is the lowest of the lows and the worst dopamine experience my brain has had in a very long time. This game should be 0 stars. I’m trying to review it everywhere as possible, the game and the creators should not exist. It’s a scam they charge for a game that they take things away in after you unlock them.

Scam company, bans people for minuscule reasons but allows streamers and certain “known” people to bot or real world trade or to flame, account share etc.
The management in Jagex are scamming little fks. DO NOT BUY MEMBERSHIP OR WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS GAME!!

Terrible greedy company that'll mute/ban long time players for no reason while they let thousands of bots sit at GE. Shitty ass company

Great game. Devs are awesome. Customer support is so bad that it will ruin your whole experience.

I played this game since I was a kid and got back into it during the pandemic. Since then I’ve made three accounts - a main, group iron, and an ultimate Ironman.

One day I tried to log into my ultimate Ironman but I couldn’t due to being struck with a macroing major ban. I didn’t bot or break any rules. I tried to appeal the ban, but it was denied. I was devastated and didn’t know what to do.

I had an annual premiere membership on the account with over 100 days left. I submitted a billing ticket for a refund. Support responded to me with a boilerplate response saying they will not investigate my account further and will not be issuing any refunds. I proceeded to request my remaining memberships to be cancelled. Followed up several times with my case to no acknowledgement or answer.

A month later, I received a notification that my card was charged for membership.

Then I had to submit another ticket with reference to my other ticket in order for me to receive a refund and finally for support to cancel my memberships.

This pains me to say but the game has been soured for me. I don’t play my other accounts anymore. I can’t bring myself to play knowing that my ultimate Ironman is lost.

The game is great. But I lost the account I’m most proud of and received zero help or insight into what happened. I sank thousands of hours into this game between my accounts and it’s crazy that each one can be taken away from you and there’s seemingly nothing you can do about it.

Constantly takes feedback and polls their community. Had great experiences with this company going on just under 20 years.

Since i got muted because people were talking bad things to me and when i say something back i get muted
Now i cant even play any minigames cuz my account cant talk do something about it or just unmute me

Grew up with jagex, many ups and downs but as time has passed and the new j mods are younger than i am now the game has been taking a turn in a good direction. They listen to the community, and theyve pumped out top tier content the past couple of years. Thanks for the memories good and bad

They are not real people and do not look at your question at all.

You can't give 0 stars otherwise Jagex would have definitely earned this one.

Don't waste your time. False bans are rampant and unless you are a youtuber or streamer who can kick up a fuss, you won't get unbanned. There isn't even a support system in place for players to reach out to appeal their bans except an automated service that just rejects the appeal.

Old school RuneScape feels a lot better and they got their heads out of their asses by accepting the fact that technology moves forward, people use runelite. They still don't understand that using macros is normal. If the average joe can program a mouse to click once every 3 seconds for 6 hours straight, then maybe consider that your game is too repetitive (alching). Also made serious illegal and PUBLIC false allegations of "rendi" doing bad things, look it up on YouTube. Not cool. Very few small updates, very tiny budget allocated yet they ask for a big amount of money for monthly membership. But why pay when you can earn some in-ge currently and get the membership that way? Terrible businesses model.it takes me 10 minutes of ingame time a day to pay for membership which costs 12ish euro a month. You do the math. It used to be 5 per month.
