corrupt senior management of NIHE coleraine office

My experience dealing with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive has been extremely disappointing and, at times, deeply distressing. What should have been straightforward communication regarding repairs and housing concerns has, in my opinion, turned into a pattern of false accusations, poor communication, and attempts to portray me unfairly as aggressive or threatening simply for raising legitimate concerns.

Over time, I have repeatedly raised issues regarding poor workmanship, incomplete repairs, and concerns about pre-tenancy works carried out at my property. Rather than these concerns being addressed constructively, I feel I have been met with hostility and misrepresentation.

One incident involved a member of staff falsely claiming that I swore at her. This allegation was entirely untrue and was disproven by dash cam footage, as I was sitting in my vehicle at the time. Despite evidence disproving the allegation, the damage to my reputation and relationship with the Housing Executive had already been done.

A second accusation came from two members of staff connected to the Mid Ulster and Antrim offices, who alleged that I threatened to “drag Peter McFlynn up my garden path.” I completely deny ever making such a statement. No threat was made, and I believe this was another serious example of my words or behaviour being inaccurately portrayed.

A further incident occurred during a telephone conversation with Gary Lyttle, Area Maintenance Manager, on 20 April 2026. During this call, I explained that I intended to document poor workmanship and unresolved repair issues and escalate them to senior management, including Frank O’Connor, Regional Manager. In response, I was asked, “Is that a threat?” despite the fact I was simply stating that I would formally document and escalate concerns regarding repairs.

Because this was the third time I had been accused of threatening behaviour, I activated call recording on my phone. An automated message informed both parties that the call was being recorded. When I asked for the allegation to be repeated, it was refused.

At no stage have I threatened Housing Executive staff. Raising complaints, documenting repair failures, and escalating concerns to senior management should not be treated as intimidation. Tenants have a right to question poor workmanship and ask for accountability without being labelled difficult or aggressive.

I also have serious concerns regarding being placed on restricted contact arrangements based on what I believe are false or exaggerated allegations. This has created unnecessary stress and has damaged trust entirely.

I have requested:

* A full review of all previous dealings and allegations.
* Independent assessment of staff conduct and reporting.
* Consideration of evidence, including recordings and dash cam footage.
* Interviews with any staff members who attended my property, with myself present, to provide honest accounts of interactions and whether they genuinely felt threatened or intimidated.

My overall experience has left me feeling unheard, unfairly judged, and treated negatively for simply trying to have repair issues resolved properly. I believe the Housing Executive needs to improve:

* Accountability.
* Communication standards.
* Handling of tenant complaints.
* Accuracy and fairness in reporting interactions with tenants.

No tenant should feel that making complaints about repairs could result in repeated accusations that affect their reputation or access to services.

senior management really needs to be held accountable

Beware of false allegations

Beware of false allegations.
NIHE contacted a 3rd party without my concent when I raised a data protection breach they said I was contacting to much and claimed I was abusive, I raised my concerns with not being able to access a dsar sent by email, (CCTV of the alleged abuse) they banned me from communications with them directly for 6 months blaming abusive behaviour. I reported a massive hole in the ground in January they only agreed to fix after a councillor raised my concerns in march. I have the calls recorded which show that I was not abusive and their staff simply abused this process repeatedly. They said this was not lawful, the ico which is the regulator confirmed I'm a individual and the same law doesn't apply. Im not staff and won't follow staff requirements. I've CCTV of visits too. They have installed electric cables within my shower running across the wall which is a danger, the contractor said it's low voltage no matter how low the risk is unacceptable. They sent a dsar with someone else's address serious data protection breach. Staff should be required to have CCTV if they believe they are getting abused, I agree if someone is abusive evidence should be supplied and then action on the policy. They are a public body and must follow the freedom of information request which they ignore. It's simple unacceptable to have a policy with no appeal process and putting tenents in danger. Mental health and accessibility disputed yet they are not medical professionals. I asked for the drail on a fence to be installed at the other side medical information supplied, they denied this saying one side has good looking fence and the other doesn't, lack of proper processes. Disability discrimination case raised with the equality commission, two data breaches reported to the information commissioner office, councillor and MLA representatives denied rights to attend meeting. The staff involved really need to rethink how they interact with there tenants and have a process on repairs that is fit for standard. Recent scheme which you wait years for failed to address fences which led to new fences via the public ombudsman service. They have bullied the wrong tenant this time and I will clear my name along with a claim under data protection

Housing Executive Maintenance

The Housing Executive’s maintenance teams and contractors routinely disregard health and safety regulations, putting tenants—particularly the elderly, children, and disabled—at constant risk. Since Grenfell, conditions have not improved. Council tenants continue to face unsafe living environments, neglect, and frustration over the persistent lack of accountability.

The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) is currently investigating the NIHE, making it more important than ever for council tenants to raise concerns.

If you are a Housing Executive tenant, you are entitled to request your repair history free of charge through a Subject Access Request (SAR). This history includes contractor invoices, which you can review for potential fraudulent billing. If the Housing Executive does not investigate suspected fraud, you have several options for escalation:

1. Contact the Northern Ireland Ombudsman (NIPSO)

2. Report to the Police or Crimestoppers

3. Contact the Northern Ireland Audit Office (NIAO)

4. Report to Action Fraud

To request a copy of your personal data from contractor EQUANS, submit a SAR to:
