I had great help in store choosing my tiles from the staff at the Deer Park store in Melbourne. Highly recommend this store. This is the second time I purchased tiles for renovations. The first time I picked up tiles myself from Tarneit. The young men helped me pack the car securely. I did 3 trips and each time I received great help. This time I thought I’d pay for delivery….. the delivery was dumped at front of gate and left for me to unload the pallet. I could’ve picked it up from Tarneit myself and would’ve received more help. I was told that unloading was not part of their job! Not a great delivery service!

I was disappointed to learn that a 20%…
I was disappointed to learn that a 20% fee applies to returns, even when the reason for the return is simply to update the entity name on the receipt—especially since I intended to repurchase the same product shortly. Additionally, I noticed a noticeable difference in staff behavior during the return process compared to the purchase experience, which was unexpected.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
They could contact the customer whose order has been SOLD to someone else.
All the Builder did was say
“ choose another tile, as the Order Dept of National Tiles, made a mistake and sold your tiles to someone else!”
Very unhappy with National Tiles and with Builder.
Neither of them care about me the Customer.
Would not recommend or use them again !
Save your money and your sanity
If you expect to receive your tiles on time and with any level of customer service support, I suggest ordering elsewhere.
On 2 September I ordered tiles which, as stated on the National Tiles website, had 200m2 in stock. According to their own delivery guidelines of 2-14 business days, this would have the tiles arriving on 19 September at the LATEST.
On 19 September (the week my renovation was starting) I received correspondence that the shipment had been delayed to 3 October. Despite having 200m2 in stock in Victoria, to avoid an interstate transfer, National Tiles chose to allocate my order to an incoming shipment instead.
They refused to assist in any way to get the tiles to me sooner, stating that their "hands were tied" and a 10-day interstate transfer was the only option. Had this been executed at the time I purchased the tiles they would've arrived in time.
This left me with a gutted bathroom and 4 business days to choose, pay for and receive new tiles before my tiler arrives. I wasn't able to purchase them with my refunded funds, however, as it takes up to 10 days for National Tiles to process refunds.
To add insult to injury, the customer service was nothing short of diabolical. The first representative was defensive and dismissive from the beginning of the call which suggest she either needs retraining, or this happens frequently and she's sick of being used as a human shield for her company's failings.
Further, the customer service representative was required to seek permission to issue a refund, despite the fact that the failing was on National Tiles' end.
I have not been able to find similar tiles in stock in time for my renovation, and have had to choose a completely different replacement tile from a competitor.
Thanks, National Tiles, for ruining my 45k bathroom and subjecting me to one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in my lifetime.

Complete Morons
My Noosaville experience. Absolutely 100% the biggest bunch of morons I've ever come across. To explain what went wrong from beginning to end would be a book. The incompetence of the staff from store manager to the delivery driver is breathtaking. If you want zero customer service, lost orders, ongoing delays, miscommunication and complete confusion - go here! Otherwise, do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs.

A client came into NT asking all sorts of questions regarding waterproofing, as he was asking complicated things, Jacqui (Mornington N.T.) put him onto me. (Michael, Peninsula waterproofing )
Turns out YouTube is not the place to get waterproofing advice, or ‘learn how to swim.’ Long story short, what he was about to do was more than certainly going to fail.
It would have been a disaster. After explaining Standards, how and the why, I ended up doing the waterproofing. The combination of various Substrates made this a complicated job indeed.
In the end, I ended up tiling it for himas well, as there was a lot of wet-saw work required to complete the job.
Two weeks after the ensuite was completed, he contacted me to help plan his bathroom renovations. Thank you Jacqui.

A Week of Condescension and Confusion Over Something That Could’ve Been Explained in 30 Seconds
After noticing a significant size difference in the tiles I’d bought from the dimensions listed online, I reached out to National Tiles for clarification. Over the course of a week, I was bounced between departments, spoken down to, and given vague or defensive answers at every turn.
When I first spoke to customer service, I told her that the product we recieved was defective, and we needed a resolution as it was delaying our rennovation. In response, she lectured me about how showroom calls aren’t recorded, so she didn’t know the context—as if that somehow justified not helping me. Her tone was condescending and unhelpful, and that set the tone for the rest of the week.
When I was finally passed to someone from their so-called “Quality Assurance” team, I asked for help resolving the issue. His response? “You’re completely wrong.” He explained— in a tone that suggested I should’ve known this already—that tile sizing in Australia is based on “work size,” not nominal size. In other words, a tile listed as 300mm doesn’t legally have to be 300mm at all. To me, that seemed ridiculous. But after digging into the Australian Standards myself, I learned it’s technically true. That’s actually the law.
Here’s the thing: if someone had simply explained that upfront—that the tiles I bought were not rectified, and that non-rectified tiles can vary significantly in size, in a way that acknowledged how ridiculous that is—this entire situation would have been resolved in a single call. Instead, I was talked down to, bounced around, and left genuinely thinking I might need legal action.
So, for anyone shopping here:
- If you care about precise tile dimensions, you need rectified tiles.
- If you ask for help here, be prepared for defensiveness and circular answers.
I don’t think the staff set out to mislead me, but their poor communication and tone-deaf handling of questions turned a minor issue into a full-blown debacle.
One helpful sentence would’ve saved me a week.
