I purchased the package that included both the regular GutCheck kit and the female GutCheck kit. Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing, particularly the consultation.
The results took a couple of months to come back, and when they finally arrived, the reports from the two kits contained contradictory recommendations, which was confusing.
The consultation was the biggest letdown. Throughout the 30-minute session, I had to remind the practitioner multiple times that I’m vegan. Despite this, she repeatedly asked whether being vegan was a choice, suggested consuming lactose-containing foods, and even asked how much red meat I eat after I had already explained several times that I don’t consume any animal products. It left me feeling like my responses weren’t being listened to.
I also explained that I had completed both test kits because I had purchased the package containing both. She told me I wasn’t supposed to complete both, but that wasn’t made clear when I received the kits. They weren’t clearly marked, and there were no obvious instructions indicating that only one should be used. This made the contradictory results even more frustrating.
The reports themselves contained some interesting information, but I would not recommend paying extra for the consultation based on my experience. It wasn’t particularly helpful and left me with more confusion than clarity.
