If you think applying for PIP is hard…
If you think applying for PIP is difficult, try applying for a mobility scooter or powerchair from this charity organisation.
You will be asked to provide pictures of your storage area, then you will be asked for a video of your storage area; all prior to completing an application form.
To complete the application form you are required to:-
Ensure your doctor, signs and stamps the medical certificate with the official practice stamp.
Obtain a recent support letter from a social worker, support worker, OT or other health professional; including your GP.
A personal letter from someone who knows your needs i.e. from a social worker, support worker, OT or other health professional; including your GP.
The Mobility Trust, after all this will then require you to indicate in the application form that you have adequate storage, with a suitable power source, proof if it is indoor or outdoor storage is weatherproof and prove if you have to use a ramp to access your home or to get to the outside storage.
Post the application using recorded delivery mail, you cannot submit it using it's email address.

If after 2 months of attempting to do all of the above; it will discard your application, unless you call it to request additional time!
Clearly the criteria and required information is such that it display's an organisational which does not exist with expectation's that a disabled person is independent enough to succeed doing this application themselves.
I gave up, it's guidelines are way too much having a GP, clinician or health professional's letter with a stamp and a report report should be enough.
Instead it is extremely intrusive and very unhelpful!
