Excellent Care and Natural Results Without Leaving the UK

I initially considered travelling to Turkey for my hair transplant, but ultimately decided it would be much easier to stay closer to home and go to Glasgow, as I live in Edinburgh. Looking back, I’m really glad I made that choice. The whole experience was far less stressful without the need for international travel, and being able to return to my own bed the same day made a big difference.
The procedure itself was very straightforward—you hardly feel anything during it—which helped put me at ease right away. From start to finish, the team at Merchant City were excellent. They kept in regular contact throughout the process and made me feel valued and supported, rather than just another patient.
I’m now 13 months post-op, and I’m really happy with the results so far. The front and temple areas have come in very well, and the crown has improved significantly too. I understand that full growth in the crown can take up to 18 months, so I’m optimistic there’s still more progress to come.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Merchant City to anyone considering a hair transplant, especially if you’re weighing up going abroad versus staying in the UK. For me, the convenience, care, and results have all been worth it.

I cannot fault the experience I’ve had…

I cannot fault the experience I’ve had with merchant city medical group from start to finish and even after the whole procedure itself, I was lucky and never got any swelling weather this has been from just my own body handling it well or to the procedure being done so accurately to minimise the swelling it has been smooth, the support I was given from the clinic prior to the procedure and after was amazing, staff are so friendly and always making sure it suit your needs, I’m currently 6 months in of the hair transplant and the results I have is next level I’m honestly amazed at the difference in my hair line and I still have another 6 months of progress to still to come, getting this procedure has honestly built my confidence so high and I would always say to anyone if this is something you are thinking about go for it and I would always highly recommend merchant city medical group

Couldn’t be happier with the service…

Couldn’t be happier with the service and the results!

Well taken care of from consultation to a year later.

My hairline was near enough non existent 10 months ago now it’s fuller than it was 10 years ago!

Highly recommend to anyone thinking about it! Best decision I’ve made

Fantastic Experience

I couldn’t be happier with my hair…

I couldn’t be happier with my hair transplant experience—truly 5 stars from start to finish. I received 5,500 grafts in a single-day procedure to reconstruct both my hairline and crown, and the results have exceeded all expectations.

From the initial consultation, everything was explained clearly and professionally, which immediately put me at ease. On the day of the procedure, the team were incredibly skilled, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable throughout what could have been a long day. Their attention to detail, especially in designing a natural-looking hairline, was outstanding.

Had my hair transplant done at Merchant City Medical and couldn’t recommend them enough.

The whole process was smooth from start to finish – really friendly team, made me feel comfortable and explained everything properly. The procedure itself was way easier than I expected and the clinic is top quality.

Aftercare has been spot on too and I’m already seeing great results.

Couldn't be happier with my experience at the Merchant City Medical Group. Walking into the bespoke reception area and being made to feel very welcome by the team at the main desk put me at ease straight away. Shortly afterwards the experienced Dr Medhi and CEO Paul gave me a detailed and clear plan of what to expect at every stage. They also answered every question I had which boosted my confidence immensely. Everything went exactly as they said and I'm delighted with the initial results. Everyone was extremely professional, tailoring everything to your needs and requirements.

The worst

The worst don't know what they are doing. I met with Jim. All good for a transplant, x2 sessions, 6700. Didn't commit to hair grafts, but as time went on after I paid my deposit, I spoke with other clinics and started to challenge them. I met a Dr who showed me pictures of what my hair could look like if I added pigments. I explained this was never discussed at consultation. I was told they could take hair from my beard and chest. I was told this would be fine. I had a few weeks before my appointment. I had waited nearly 6 months to get a double appointment. They basically told me they had no guarantee.it wouldn't make much difference.

Kenny, we are genuinely sorry to read that you felt confused or disappointed following your consultations. That is never the experience we want for any patient.

To clarify the timeline, you attended your initial consultation on 5th November where the transplant process, donor availability and likely outcome were discussed. After this, there were several months of correspondence during which you mentioned comparing prices with other clinics. To ensure complete clarity and informed consent before proceeding, we arranged a further in-depth consultation directly with the doctor on 16th February.

At that appointment, the doctor reassessed your donor area and discussed realistic expectations. Based on your donor supply, the level of density you were hoping to achieve was beyond what could safely and ethically be extracted. As a regulated UK medical clinic, we cannot overharvest, promise unrealistic density, or provide guarantees on aesthetic outcomes. Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure and results depend on individual biology, healing and donor capacity. Providing guarantees would be medically inappropriate.

You also mentioned scalp micropigmentation. This is not a service we provide, which is why it was not discussed as part of your treatment plan. Our focus is surgical hair restoration, and if we believe expectations exceed what can be achieved safely, we will always be honest about that.

While we appreciate that other providers may quote lower prices or suggest higher graft numbers, our responsibility is to give clinically safe advice rather than simply agreeing to expectations that cannot be achieved.

When you decided not to proceed, your deposit was refunded immediately and in full.

We understand that it can be frustrating when expectations change following a medical consultation, but our priority will always be patient safety and transparency over making a sale. We genuinely wish you the very best with whichever route you choose.
