SCAMMER

SCAMMER. Absolutely avoid this person. HE'S A BIG SCAM AND A GAMBLER.

I genuinely hope you read this review, along with the others, and take some time to reflect on the way you're running your business (if it is a legitimate bussiness and you are not running a scam). Hopefully, the consistent feedback from multiple customers encourages you to make some meaningful changes, because no one should have to go through an experience like this.

Based on my experience, I paid a substantial deposit for work that was never completed. After taking my money, the work didnt commence as agreed and was left unfinished, and despite repeated requests, my refund hasn't been returned after months...

Communication became increasingly difficult, with excuses and foul language, broken promises, and long periods of no response. Every time I was told the issue would be resolved, another promise was broken. It has been incredibly frustrating and stressful trying to recover money that should never have been withheld. Clearly proving they are not a legitimate business.

My experience has been extremely devastating, and I regret trusting and, I genuinely recommend you avoid it. I wish I had seen the other reviews first. Fraudulent!!!!!

Incompetent scam artist

Absolute fraudulent scammers who are completely clueless, jaw-droppingly lazy, and doesn’t even know basic maths. To make matters worse, this deadbeat blew our money on a severe gambling problem and now claims he can't pay us back. Save your sanity and run far away from this disaster.

Repeated Delays, Unfulfilled Promises and Refund Still Outstanding”, or “Avoid Based on Our Experience – Significant Issues and Additional Costs.”

⭐ Very disappointing experience – I would not recommend this business.

From the beginning, there were red flags. We paid a 50% deposit because we wanted the driveway work to commence, but this was followed by weeks of delays, repeated follow-ups and promises that were not fulfilled.

We were told that the required council approval had been obtained, but when we checked the council tracker ourselves, we could not find the application. When we questioned this, communication became difficult and at times we found the manner of communication rude and intimidating.

We also paid approximately $3,000 for a carpenter to install our shed. The carpenter did not complete the work, and appointments were repeatedly cancelled. We requested our money back and were provided with documentation indicating a refund, but we have still not received the $3,000. We eventually had to pay another carpenter ourselves to complete the shed installation.

Before the concrete was even poured, we were pressured to make full payment even though the job was still incomplete. When we said we would pay after the concrete was poured, we were told, “This is how I do business.”

The concrete was eventually poured while we still had concerns regarding council approval. We were also unhappy with the finished work, particularly the level and steepness of the footpath/driveway area. We were promised that the driveway issues would be rectified, but they remain unresolved and we are now facing further expenses to have the work corrected.

We subsequently identified concerns regarding the contractor’s licensing status as well.

Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this business independently verify the contractor’s licence and council approvals, obtain everything in writing, and be extremely careful about paying large deposits or making full payment before the work has been satisfactorily completed.

We trusted the promises made to us, but unfortunately we have been left out of pocket and with additional rectification costs.

Questionable business practices

Hoping this time you learn from your misleading conduct.
In my case:
1-You poured the concrete into my driveway without council approval which I paid for the council approval.
2- In the contract installation of my SHED included which you did not provided the service.
3-You said you are going to refund me for the SHED that you did not provided for the service.
4- You sent me a fake refund receipt twice.
5-You promised me multiple times that you are going to fix the issue but you given me a false hope.

Definitely avoid this company as you will regret.

This business is a scam. Run away

This business is a scam. The owner is a scammer and is only trying to steal your money.
After receiving the initial down payment to book in the job, and an additional payment to assist him purchasing material which had totalled to over 50% of the job cost. The owner worked on my property for less than 2 days causing multiple damages in different areas, including my neighbour's property. On day 3 he collected his hired machinery and drove away after having a fight with his employee who we heard him tell the owner 'don't do this to these clients, they are good people'.
The owner decided to never return and not finish the job but keep all the money which was just under $15,000.
During his two days on our property it was obvious that he did not know what he was doing, the damages he caused have cost me over $20,000 to fix.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this scammer.

Seeing all these other reviews has convinced me that if the police is not going to stop this scammer. I will do everything I can to expose him on national media.
To the other victims of this man, I strongly encourage you to contact A Current Affair, because thats what we have done.

*the owner has reported our previous…

*the owner has reported our previous reviews, because his name was mentioned. Below explains in detail of what he has done to us*.
This was our initial response to him responding to our first review.

Hi, we are not shocked that you have yet again, lied.
Yes, the dirt was a problem, after you explained to us that it was "unsafe", we helped you out by hiring a truck driver to come to site, and help remove enough dirt to be able to give you and your crew the space you needed. We also agreed to hire a skip bin, should there be anymore dirt to dispose of. On top of this, we spent 2 days trying to find places where we could appropriately, and legally dispose of the dirt. We came up with a plan to have the truck driver return, on days that would suit yourself, and your crew should you need it again. By the end of day 2, you said to us that you were "happy and relieved" that the soil issue was sorted, and you projected that the job could finish on time by end of the week. In saying this, you were also given a second access point where there would be no dirt in the way, we reminded you of this 5 times. This second access point was able to fit all of your machinery, and give you a smoother path to work with. On top of this, the way you escavated the dirt was incorrect. You were told by your more experienced work colleagues multiple times that you did not have the right machine, and you were making the job harder for yourself and them, and you responded with "shut up, it is my business, I will make the decisions".
Now that I have stated the truth. How about we move onto the many other things you did, that were dodgy.
1- On the first day, you refused to do things that were listed on the quote.
We told you that you had agreed to our list of requirements, via text message after you sent us a very vague, itemised quote. You responded with "well I must of just agreed to this on a busy day, that isn't my fault", insinuating that you would not adhere to the original agreement.
2- you conned us into paying a 50% deposit instead of 20%, as originally agreed to on the contract, due to your deposit "T&Cs" have changed. We've since found out that you would regularly change the deposit % amount, to help pay for other jobs.
3- your behaviour was abrupt, rude, and intimidating. You would often raise your voice and use profanity towards us.
4- the reason you did not come back; you sent us a fraudulent invoice as stated in our previous review. Before we found out it was fake, we had intentions to pay for extra material once it was on site, as we had a suspicion that you were lying to us. You turned up, waited till one of us left for work, then you packed your tools and machinery and left. We were told then and there that you had no intentions of returning, until that invoice was paid. Then we found out that the invoice was fraudulent.
5- after the invoice incident, we decided to confront you, and part ways, and requested a full refund. You then apologised, and became admanent to finish the job. We came to an agreement that you return to site on Thursday, to finish the job by Saturday/ Sunday. You did not turn up on Thursday. After this we decided to part ways, and requested our refund.
This is when you completely ghosted us.
After we sent you multiple emails, and sought after legal advice, we still heard nothing. Then we shared our experience online, in the hopes to warn others.
You then contacted us, apologising and agreed to pay us back.
You strung us along for 5 weeks, trying to send us the money, but you were then caught out lying about that. You then admitted to us that there was no money.
We then came to an agreement to be paid in weekly installments of 3k, up until all of our money was paid back.
We are STILL WAITING for the remainder of our money back.
I find it humorous, that you are threatening to share screenshots of us "extorting" you, when that it not the case.
You literally sent us a message, on the 21/4/26 stating "I played you at first, I have been noting that". But you turn around and fabricate an entire story on here? We also have your written confession via email of you admitting to us that what you did was wrong and apologised.
The Building Commission of NSW has already been contacted, we submitted the case with the tribunal court months ago, but retracted it in good faith that you would do the right thing, but we have resubmitted our NCAT documents.
This review is purely to warn people, he cannot be trusted!!!

AVOID THIS UNLICENSED TRADE

Hiring McAndrews Concrete Construction is genuinely one of the biggest regrets we have from building our first home. If I could go back and change one decision, it would be trusting the business owner with our property and our money. I have never felt so taken advantage of by a trade.

He constantly told us “I’ll look after you” and reassured us that everything would be sorted. We believed him. Instead, we were left with unfinished and defective work, thousands of dollars in rectification costs and months of stress trying to get our money back.

The following is only a fraction of what we experienced. On his first day he broke our bedroom window. He later broke our main sewer pipe, tried to offer a structural engineer cash to approve defective pier holes, asked us how to interpret the engineer’s measurements then later built our retaining wall 43 cm too short despite having our surveyed plans. He blamed his workers for the defective wall, denied other issues and eventually stopped returning to fix the work.

We also agreed to changes to the job that were discussed in person and supported by messages, but he never updated the invoice. We trusted his word and paid him. Afterwards, he refused to complete agreed work because it wasn’t on the invoice. That was the moment I realised just how badly he screwed us over.

We have now spent over $4k having other trades finish or rectify his work. But the part that has upset us most is fighting to get our money back.

The owner agreed to a refund, but despite repeated promises, the money never came. He eventually sent us a transfer receipt, yet no money arrived. Our bank advised that the receipt appeared fraudulent and told us to contact police. Only after police contacted him did he transfer part of the refund. Months later, we are still fighting for the rest of the money he agreed to pay. He also failed to attend his NCAT hearing.

That is what has been so emotionally exhausting about dealing with the owner: the constant promises that everything will be fixed, finished or paid, followed by being let down again. We gave him chance after chance to make things right, but eventually we had to accept that the promises meant nothing. His complete lack of accountability, care and integrity throughout this ordeal has been incredibly upsetting.

I would never recommend McAndrews Concrete Construction to anyone. Please learn from our experience and go elsewhere.
