Bad check in systems

The clinic was hard to find, no clear signs from the outside, I still managed to get there 10 mins before my appointment. Knocked on the doors of the clinic as instructed and waited in the waiting room but no one came. I had to wait 40 mins before I found one of the nurses and while she was nice and helped me with the appointment but the overall experience was not great. No clear check in system and no one came to get me from the waiting room and no answer when I knocked on the doors. Also no WiFi or internet connection in the waiting room area.

I had a bit of trouble with my…

I had a bit of trouble with my appointment, the chosen chemist said they had no trace of my appointment. I called Masta and spoke to a lovely lady (think it was Jane) I wasn't sure if I had done something wrong but she assured me I hadn't. The lady called the chemist herself the next day and I was able to go to get my vaccinations 👌

on the whole ok

initial phone call to arrange jabs , excellent. Pharmacy visited for jabs efficient but didn't provide full details re insect repellent etc etc as promised in initial telecon

Helpful and convenient

Very helpful initial consultation for travel jabs, didn't try to over-sell but gave honest useful information. The actual appointment was at the weekend in my GP's premises, so very convenient

They gave me the wrong vaccination…

They gave me the wrong vaccination completely and I have had to rebook because of this. The operative failed to check and i received Hepatitis A instead of Tetanus

Following an investigation into the matter, we can confirm that although an appointment had originally been booked with our MASTA York Partner Clinic, this appointment was subsequently cancelled with MASTA. The service and vaccinations administered were then provided through an NHS service at your GP practice and not by MASTA.

We understand how frustrating and concerning this situation must have been, particularly when preparing for travel. We would recommend raising this directly with the NHS service involved, and we hope you are able to resolve the matter promptly.

Booked a session for travel jabs

Booked a session for travel jabs, called up the main line for advice on how the process works.

Then was told the clinician was not available that week after taking time off work for the jabs.

Was given no explanation of how the jabs are chosen, can’t reserve a jab so no guarantee it’s available on the day.

Probably going to get rabies and die when I travel now lol

Unfortunately, national vaccine shortages are outside of our control. We do our best to organise clinics and vaccine supplies as efficiently as possible and to keep appointments, but occasionally availability can change at short notice.

Excellent service

The nurse we saw was knowledgeable, patient and kind. Everything was clearly explained and all questions answered. It was also easy to make the appointment online and there is parking on site. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to book initial appointment.

The website is fairly comprehensive and up front about prices and available services.

We used the Reading clinic and to be honest it went downhill a bit from there. The only jab we needed from Masta is thankfully the rabies jab which is optional for our trip, luckily me 14 year old felt unprepared to get a vaccine because we could only get the first shot there not any subsequent shots due to staff time off. I was assured by the person seeing us we could just book in at any other Masta clinic for the next shot, due. Within 7-10 days of first. But when I went to book to see other clinics to get the shit at all, getting an appointment seemed near impossible within that time frame. So I'm glad I didn't shell out the money for a vaccine I couldn't keep on schedule with.

We also booked through an affiliate link which stated no payment for consultation, does not specify if you need to get vaccines for this to be free, but person seeing us didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

Amazing help after Argentina dog bite

I was bitten by a dog in Argentina and reached out to MASTA for help.
I was very stressed as I had had a bad time at the local hospital and needed to check elsewhere that I had done the right thing regarding rabies vaccinations

Prior to contacting MASTA, I had contacted the local hospital, the 24 hour line provided by my insurance and the pharmacy I had my most recent vaccinations - they all told me differing things regarding amount of vaccines and dates.

I was initially hesitant about MASTA because the only option was to email, but Beverley replied within the hour requesting more details and reassuring me with facts
Once I’d mention that I was feeling anxious she rang me a talked me through it. She was kind, informative and calm.

Beverley was incredible at explaining everything to me and ensuring I had done the correct steps

It was amazing to be able to speak to somebody that had a good understanding and could go through everything in detail, whilst providing informative reassurance
