Marimba Jam is an award-winning social enterprise that performs, hosts events, and teaches African marimba music across Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban. Established in 2012 as an outreach initiative to share the joy of marimbas with under-resourced schools, Marimba Jam operates both a commercial branch and a non-profit dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities. It was birthed from a desire to bridge the gap of access to quality education in South Africa. Our internationally acclaimed award-winning professional performing band located in Cape Town and Johannesburg has over 10 years experience performing at all sorts of events, from big corporate functions, to small intimate gatherings. We have had the honour of performing for National and Local Government, the Springboks, the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation and hundreds of weddings and corporate events. Whether you're seeking tranquil background melodies for your cocktail hour, lively African rhythms to greet your guests, a show-stopping on-stage performance with breathtaking choreography or high energy team-building experiences, our skilled band and workshop leaders have everything you need. In a milestone achievement, Marimba Jam broke the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Marimba Ensemble", on 2 August 2025, further cementing its position as a pioneering force in African music education and performance.Mehr ansehen
