I have only just completed a mentorship programme with Mali which was nothing short of fantastic. Mali encourages, educates and enables the participants in his programme to use their skillset to grow and thrive. It was an amazing experience learning from Mali through his zoom sessions and course material. Mali provides a great understanding on what it requires to take yourself to the next level and throughout provides high quality adhoc feedback. If you are considering working with Mali in any way at all I recommend you do it, he's a great guy altogether.

If you get the opportunity to either complete one of Mali’s mentoring sessions or have a face to face session with him all I can say is to do it.
His enthusiasm and creativity is infectious and you wouldn’t meet a more down to earth person who really cares about his craft and helping others. Cheers Mali.

I recently completed the mentorship with Mali with 4 other photographers. Mali put us all at ease and met us where we were at on our photography journey. Mali encouraged me considerably as I was having a crisis of confidence in the quality of my photos. Mali is a specialist in woodland photography, and although I consider it not one of my strengths, Mali encouraged me to stick at it. I enjoy woodland more now.
In terms of photo knowledge, Mali has a broad and deep insights, which was always helpful.

I have just completed a mentoring programme with Mali - as part of a group of 5 photographers across several weeks. Having him on YouTube for years, Mali managed the programme exactly as I would have hoped and expected. He was unfailingly welcoming, open and encouraging. Every session felt like a thoroughly safe space in which to try out ideas. What did pleasantly surprise me was how well Mali responded to every question/idea/ issue that came up in the meetings. He listened carefully and always provided a well thought out response that directly addressed the point. He clearly knows his craft and has a real talent for sharing what he's learned. If you're looking to develop your photography, I'd thoroughly recommend checking out one of Mali's offerings.

I took Mali's Let's Create series along with a small group of other photographers. Mali enthusiastically shares his expertise and his engaging approach to finding and making images, with his guidebook and his personal attention and feedback in each session. And it was great to see everyone's images and share insights. A lot of fun and it's helping me build a lasting practice. Highly recommended!

I attended Mali’s mentorship programme in the Spring of 2026.
I found Mali very approachable and he provided a relaxed setting for myself and fellow mentees to discuss and share our work and experiences without feeling pressured or self conscious.
Mali provided a fantastic workbook at the start of the programme, which has become a great resource to carry forward into my practice.
I came away feeling much more confident about my photography and I have even produced my first zine with Mali’s support and encouragement.
I would highly recommend.

Elements 25 - what a fantastic week of landscape photography with Mali Davies. The Highlands of Scotland were wonderful and the accommodation was great (especially the food), but most of all the knowledge, creativity and infectious enthusiasm of Mali made the whole week such a joy. I don't think I stopped smiling all week. Thank you Mali..!

Attending Elements 2025 was a transformative experience, thanks to the incredible dedication, warmth, and expertise of Mali Davies.

The accommodation was warm, clean and well equipped. We were nourished with delicious home-cooked meals.

Mali’s ability to read the weather, select inspiring locations, and offer thoughtful, personalised guidance allowed me to grow in confidence and creativity every single day. His calm manner and willingness to share his knowledge made the workshop feel supportive and empowering rather than overwhelming.

Mali cultivated an atmosphere of focus, community, and joy which made the workshop truly unforgettable. I left feeling more connected—to my photography, to the landscape, and to the wonderful group of people with whom I shared the experience. I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough.

Mali had everything organized, the accomodation was lovely and ideally placed, his knowledge of the locations to visit were absolutely beautiful, nature certainly rewarded us for taking the time to appreciate the elements that it shared with us.

It was a nice group size and the whole experience was brilliant.

I have just spent an incredible week as a participant on Mali's Elements Scotland workshop. He is an incredibly warm and approachable human being who made me feel at ease from the moment I met him.
Mali's approach to creativity is a gentle one. His photographic work reflects this and it certainly comes across in his teaching style aswell. He is very willing to share his knowledge with anyone who asks of him and does so in a totally non egotistical manner. This made it a delight to be in his company.
Our accomodation for the week was clean, modern, warm, with plenty of hot water and delicious home made food and was the perfect antidote to being outside in the famous Scottish weather. Evenings sat around the table with Mali and the other participants in the workshop (we were 4) reflecting on the day are memories that I shall cherish for a long time.

I have experienced many photographic workshops over the years, and Mali’s is up there with the very best if them.
The locations are breathtaking from lochs and woodlands to mountains and white sand beaches. The accomodation is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Meals are included often with local produce, and are delicious. Sharing our evening meals and talking about the days photography, or our upcoming plans is a wonderful opportunity to share time and thoughts with your colleagues. We were fortunate enough to have a presentation from Lynn our host, and a renowned award winning photographer herself, on her approach to photography and her creative process.
But the real reason this is such a great workshop is Mali himself. His enthusiasm for photography, creativity and sharing his process are unmatched.
I came away with an appreciation for the location, the workshop as a process, and Mali as a person.
Do yourself a favour take that new lens out of your Amazon basket, and spend the money on an Elements workshop. You will not regret it.

Inspiring woodland photography An Stapa is a Wonderful book from a wonderful man who I follow on you tube and I will be browsing for many years to come.

Swift turnaround and delivery and a great product. Book full of really inspiring photos that made me itch to get out and take some of my own.

Booked Mali for a 1:1 session at Tarn How's. The weather wasnt great, with rain predicted all morning, but Mali's enthusiasm (despite his very early set off time) knew now bounds and was infectious. Despite knowing my way around my camera, Mali's tips and advice thoughout were littered with gems of advice for which my photography will improve. My images will improve and evolve with practice and Mali's tips will only help that change as he has opened my photography eye more than I was hoping before. I now look forward to the follow up which I will arrange once I've got the editing completed. Mali sets out trying to get 5 images you are proud off, I can honestly say, I've got at least double that figure and I've still to edit more images. Thank you Mali.

What a wonderful morning spent with Mali, his knowledge and passion for photography just shines through. Mali wants to share and ensure you get the most of the images you get, pointing out composition after composition. If there was only one thing to say, it would be 'he knows his stuff'. Mali knows the areas he takes you to and ensures you come away with quality. As photographers we always want the best conditions and even though it was a bright sunny April morning that did not dampen his enthusiasm for me to come away with the best experience possible. Fantastic person, fantastic experience and I highly recommend you book a workshop with him.
