Nefi took me for a tour of cenotes around Valladolid in October 2025. My family decided to visit Mérida this last week and asked Nefi for a private tour of cenotes in the area. He took us to cenotes in Hómun and it was the most amazing experience. He shared pre-hispanic history, colonial history, layers of generational culture and the changes over time. He offered us an amazing deal for transportation and cenotes and provided water to keep us hydrated. When we entered Hómun, we met with a local guide who took us to the less touristy cenotes and shared stories about his hometown. Nefi jumped in the cenotes with my sister and niece; and we spent the day laughing and having a great time together. We truly enjoy Nefi's company, as he is a beautiful human. We all had lunch together and then he helped us find a special tree bark to bring home to my other sister that is used for traditional dyes.

If you want an incredible experience anywhere between the Yucatan or Quintana Roo, you want to call Make Your Own Tour. If you are lucky enough to get Nefi, who is the owner and operator, it will be your biggest blessing!

We took a day trip to Chichen Itza and Tulum with Make Your Own Tour. The booking was very smooth. Nefi addressed all our questions. The tour itself was excellent. The gude/ driver Gabriel was extremely good. He picked us on-time. He is very knowledgable and explained every detail about the sites and answered all our questions. He didn't rush us and allowed us to spend as much time as we needed. I will use Make Your Own Trip in future and will recommend to others without any hesitation.

Nefi always answered my emails very quickly and precisely (and I asked quite a lot of questions).
Our guide on the day of the visit was Gabriel. He was on time, very friendly and knowledgeable - we really enjoyed our time with him. We explored Chichen Itza and Ek Balem with a stop at a Cenote.
Thanks to the excellent organization we arrived at Chichen Itza when it opened and were able to enjoy the place with no crowds.
Same for the stop at the Cenote…it was all timed perfectly.
I recommend this company for anyone wanting to explore Cancun with the comfort of a private guide. 100% worth it and more.

Nefi drove us from Cancún airport to our hotel 3 hours away in the small town of Espita. He was on time (early, actually!) friendly, easy to communicate with, and very knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend using his services as a driver or tour guide. Excellent service!

My wife and I could not have asked for a better tour guide than Gabriel. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and had the tour timed perfectly to avoid the crowds. We asked him numerous questions during the tour, and he was a wealth of knowledge. Visiting Chichen Itza was on our bucket list but we weren't quite sure what to expect. We ended up totally geeking out on it. We've already recommended Make Your Own Tour to friends and family of ours. If you go, make sure you don't skip the cenote.

This tour was amazing! We had some custom requirements - pick up from one place and drop off to another and it was all arranged with no problem. Our tour guide Gabriel turned up right on time, and got us to Chichen Itza in good time. We arrived about ten minutes before they opened. There was a long queue to get tickets however ours were already sorted so when it opened we went straight through and were already ahead of the crowds. We were the first people to El Castillo for the day and got some stunning photos with no one on the background! Gabriel let us take our photos and also helped, and then when we were satisfied he started telling us all about the history. He told us very interesting facts and details without talking for too long. It really was perfect. We then left Chichen Itza when it started to get busy and went to Ik Kil, again it was quiet when we got there so the timing was perfect - there were only 4 other people there! Gabriel was very relaxed and said we could take our time and he’d be waiting when we were finished. It really was the perfect day. It’s always a bit funny going to these really popular places as you know it’s going to be super busy but we really couldn’t have asked for better timing to beat all the crowds. Thank you so much!! If I had to choose one thing for improvement it would be to have some bottles of water waiting in the car.

We booked in advance and secured our date and trip with a deposit for 1/2 the trip cost. I was nervous at first to do this, but I had nothing to worry about! Our driver/guide was on time to pick us up at our resort, spoke English, and shared his knowledge of the area and landmarks as we drove. The van was very comfortable for 4 adults. Gabriel was not only a good driver, but made our trip a great success. We chose where, how long, when to stop and when to return. Highly recommend.

We had the best time with Gabriel. He was very knowledgeable and took good care of us during a day in Tulum, and another one in Coba and the trips back and forth Cancun! We will definitely come back

Exceptional guide service to Chichen Itza. I did not expect to get photos without tourists in but with this tour we arrived right when the site opens.

Clearly researched, the tour consisted of known facts and the guide was very knowledgeable to our questions. He has spent time in many museums in Mexico learning his subject thoroughly.

We spent about three hours at the ruins before moving on to the Cenote. It might feel like you’re on a short timeline but it ensures you get there before the Cancun Cattle ahem, I mean tour buses. The Cenote was picturesque and we arrive for lunch long before the crowds, not having to wait at all. (The queues were 20 mins long by the time we left)

Although initially it might seem expensive compared to other tours, there are no hidden charges or extra costs. Most other tours make you pay your own entry fees and taxes, meaning they are not as cheap as they seem. The experience of this tour was slick and easy, well worth it.

We were exceptionally happy with the tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This was a good experience for our large group of 14 adults. They were very easy to communicate with and helped us create the tour we hoped for.

It was an amazing day, I actually had great expectations for this company and this tour but they went way beyond my expectations the pick up was on time and the whole was a once in a life experience, to see the ruins and get the history behind, cool off in a natural sinkhole and eat mexican food. Totally earned the 5 stars

The experience was simply just perfect. The tour guide was very knowledgeable in regards to the Tulum Ruins, he was very personable. Is main focuse was for our group to gave the best experience. Some tours the guides main focus is the tip at the end. Our tour guide not once bring that up. I am a happy customer. Thank for the experience!!
