Fake offices, kept deposit, 42 sanctions at Peru's consumer protection agencynted a vehicle from Luxury Rent a…
I rented a vehicle from Luxury Rent a Car (LUXURY RENT A CAR S.A.C. - LRAC S.A.C.) for +20 daysand left a deposit of US$1,500. The car was returned with no damage. 4.5 MONTHS later, I still have not received my money back.
First red flag I missed: they have no real offices. Their website lists four locations (Callao, Santiago de Surco, Cieneguilla, and Cusco) but none of them are actual walk-in offices. They deliver the car to you — which means when something goes wrong, there is no counter to go to, no manager to speak with in person, and no physical presence to hold accountable. The "offices" are a facade.
This is not an isolated case. Peru's consumer protection agency INDECOPI lists this company with 26 formal complaints, 42 sanctions, and over 297,000 soles (~$80,000 USD) in accumulated fines dating back to 2019. SUNAT, Peru's tax authority, also shows a temporary suspension of the company as a taxpayer. The general manager is Víctor Cama.
Their scheme is well documented: they delay deposit refunds for 60+ days citing GPS speed violations — often in locations the client never visited. When victims go public, they offer to return the money only if the client signs a document agreeing to stay silent.
I have filed a formal complaint with INDECOPI and a police report for fraud. Identical cases have been covered by El Comercio and Latina TV in Peru.

Do not hand over a deposit to this company. There is no office door to knock on when they stop answering your messages.
