Terrible experience: revoked domains, dead nameservers, and a 3000% renewal fee hike.
I stopped using their services a couple of months ago after being stuck with them for a year, but I've only now decided to speak out.
I bought three domains from them, all within a month of each other: .life, .space, and .xyz. Just a week later, the .xyz domain ended up on "registry hold". Here is how their tech support responded: "uno, .site, .store, .fun, .space, .tech, .website, .icu, .xyz, .online, .pro, .lol - in these zones, the domain management company partners with a third party that checks them for abuse, and we are very unhappy with their verification model. We recommend simply avoiding these zones."
Keep in mind, the server this domain was pointing to only hosted a simple Twitch bot.
I let that slide, but I still had two other domains with them. Over the year of use, I faced constant issues. Their nameservers would go down, disappear entirely, or they would secretly add new ones, forcing me to MANUALLY enter them in my account. After the third major nameserver downtime, tech support basically admitted their infrastructure is garbage and recommended using Cloudflare. Quoting: "If you created new records using our DNS, they didn't resolve. Our nameservers are currently experiencing issues. We recommend transferring your domain to a free DNS, such as Cloudflare." When I asked for an ETA on the fix, they said: "Unfortunately, we can't give a timeline, so we recommend transferring to Cloudflare."
I also got the impression that they roll out platform updates without any testing. I rarely logged in, but several times I had to contact support just to figure out why I couldn't access my account. Even basic DNS record editing was a matter of faith: the tooltips say one thing, but trial and error showed completely different results.
With great difficulty, I migrated my NS to Cloudflare (as their own support advised) and happily didn't have to visit their website for six months. Fast forward to renewal time. I log into my personal account - which loads incredibly slowly, as if hosted on a potato - and go to the domains section. I click "Renew" and see a bill for $52.50.
When I originally bought them for $2-3, absolutely NO ONE warned me that the renewal price would skyrocket by 30 times. If it was $10-15, I would understand. But $53? My .life domain also originally cost $2-3, and they asked $57.75 for its renewal.
I still have all the Telegram correspondence with tech support regarding their problems, so if you ask me, I'll share them with you without any problem.
