Well happy.

I was a little put off after reading recent reviews. However I decided to go for it, and I have not regretted it.
Service was great, good communication too. Delivery process explained, and understood the time scale. Steve answered all my questions. Well happy with my copper bath, looks great.

BEAUTIFUL BATH!!

Wow. My bath is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Even better than I though it would be. I was kept fully in the loop at every stage from purchasing to receiving my bath. I know there has been some problems with delivery from India but this didn’t affect me. Please don’t believe all the reviews below, I have nothing but positive things to say about London Encaustic. I would fully recommend you guys to my friends and family. Thank you. I am over the moon with my lovely new bath.

Do not ever order from this company

Do not ever order from this company. False promises and you’ll be lucky if you ever receive your order! Truly awful! Still awaiting a refund. Will be starting legal proceedings.

Its a shame that you felt to wite the review after recieving the refund you requested.
We know that it has been really frustrating for you to be held up like this when you just want to get your job done and we are aware how the problems we have had with shipping has impacted your workflow. You’re right, I would be upset and unhappy about the situation you’ve encountered too

Although we have tried to make it clear throughout the sales process that there have been huge problems with freight and lead-times, we realise that this is no consolation to you at this stage. Again, we can only apologise - this is not the service that we have built our business on and it is devastating to us that due to issues beyond our control, we have let you down.

In order to address the issues that you and other customers have raised with us, namely a lack of communication and long delays on items ordered, we have put into practice a ranch of new procedures to ensure that going forward, these problems will be ironed out.

These include:

* Hiring a new member of staff to assist in customer services
* Travelling to meet with our supplier and nail down the problems with freight and shipping
* Ensuring we know PRECISELY where our customer’s sea freight baths are at any time
* Stockpiling baths in order to offer stock far faster and be assured that baths ordered are in the UK right NOW

In order to keep prices as low as possible, our baths are sourced from a company in India where staff are paid fairly, treated considerately, work in safe surroundings and pride themselves on using artisinal techniques to create beautiful works of art. We recently travelled to India to see the impact that our staff there are having on their community and have seen first-hand the school for homeless children they have created. Sadly, the freight issues which began for them in lockdown continued to plague them - and us - for longer than we had anticipated. But they, and London Encaustic, are determined to work together to solve these issues.

Once again, our sincerest apologies for the stress and uncertainty that you have outlined. We are trying to navigate a path forward with our small business which we really have put our heart and soul into and hope that in the future, these problems will not happen to future customers.

Beautiful tiles ❤️

We ordered wall and floor tiles and are absolutely delighted with the finished result. Steve was amazing when we ended up 4 tiles short and he sent us 6 complimentary so we could finish our bathroom. Thanks for helping!

Awful!

Same as everybody else by the sounds of it.
Terrible customer services, promises of non existent delivery dates, cock and bull stories about the manager being the only person who could tell me where my order was, but he was on holiday, had no phone signal, etc etc etc.

Absolute joke. I will only be ordering from local suppliers where possible, and/or suppliers with a proven track record. These guys are neither.

Be very wary.

LIke many others I had months and months of false promises and delivery dates that did not materialise.
I became worried about a company taking many payments in full and not communicating /delivering.
I cancelled my order.
Be very wary would be my advice.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, unfortunately with no name or order number it’s difficult to give a personalised response.
However we have got through our supply chain issues and selling baths from stock now rather than on back orders which has been our main issue.
Sorry that you didn’t have the experience that you expected or deserve as a customer but we have done a lot of work in the last month to make sure that stock can be dispatched next day to make sure that we are in a position to be more agile and have more info for clients in the future

Disgraceful business

Appalling behaviour - order #54092 ordered 19th August 2022. £1015 worth of tiles, chased 5 weeks later as advised for delivery date, told not even been ordered, tried to fob me off with other tiles in stock. Finally agreed to give me a refund for the full amount, told to wait 3-5 days, it's now working day 6 and poor Connie again tells me that the manager (who incidentally you never get to speak to as he is always out) hasn't authorised it. This is illegal, taking money for goods you haven't sold!!! I want this refund in my account today otherwise I will start proceedings.

Same old stories

Same old stories. No bath delivered after months of waiting. Ship left India delivery 15 September but still no bath, new date after chasing of mid October. Maybe the ship sunk? No communication, not answering phones. Finally agreed to refund but wanted my bank details as owner in India cant refund Mastercard. I don't think so.. Now all my emails are bounced back as undelivered. Thank god for protection paying on credit card. Do not use this company 😳

I’m not sure if you wrote this review and there is a delay in it appearing on here. However you have had your refund.
I was in india, with suppliers, while you were waiting on the refund - the card payment system wasn’t allowing me to refund your card while I was on a server in India, however I could have paid in to your bank but you didn’t want to share the details. Which of course is completely fine, but it of course makes it a bit difficult to process the refund with no details.
I’m sorry you didn’t get the bath as you’d like, and although the trip wasn’t helpful for your purposes- we are now in a more positive position with tracking, delivery details and general info regarding orders. This includes selling baths from stock which are delivered in 48 hours.

order #39956. I returned my Mae basin in June and have been waiting for my refund since. every time i ring up and speak with Connie she says it will be processed the next day and it never is. Please can you process refund as promised.

We placed our order with this company…DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE

We placed our order with this company on 20th May 2022. The website indicated a 12 week delivery and so we continued because our extension build is taking longer. I started chasing our delivery on 5th September but had to wait until 21st September, only to be told that the bath we had ordered had not even been put in to a container to leave India yet. Our builder now needs to finish our bathroom and we do not have a bath. We have been promised a refund for the last two days and we have had nothing yet. After reading all the scathing reviews on this site I am now convinced that I will need to take legal action to recover over £3000 of our money. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS US. Use a well established company who can give you a delivery date before you part with your money. This lot will take you on a merry dance!!!

Don’t give this company a penny of your…

Don’t give this company a penny of your cash!! We ordered a Avon bath in February. It said 6 week delivery. After calling them they said that it may be 8 - 10 weeks. Guess what. Still haven’t received it. So many lies from courier problems, customs delays. And then the wrong label lie. That was the final straw. We did manage to get our money back but that doesn’t help when our project was delayed because of lies and bulls**t.

Hello David, the website has never in the 5 years of running said 6 weeks delivery.
The whole world has had issues with shipping in the last few years, and unfortunately we haven’t been able to miss these problems ourselves.
However we have learnt from our mistakes (relying on international freight time), and have more staff to avoid labelling issues. This label issue has only happened one time, and the other client that it’s happened to has also reviewed us stating the same issue. It was a simple human error - however we do appreciate that this was ‘the straw that broke the camels back’, as there was a big delay on your order.
Now our popular baths are all either in stock, meaning 48 hour delivery, or made to order. However due to the stock baths any bespoke baths can be made in a shorter with a more accurate time frame.
Sorry you’ve not had the experience you wanted or that we wanted to provide. But we are now in a better place to give a much better service.

My worst home improvement experience of my life

I can only echo what over people are saying about this shambles of a operation, Steve is a liar, my favourite after 10 months of chasing our order, he gave us a date for our delivery and even a time of no later than 12.00 noon, great day off work, guess what no bath, phone call to Steve and he told us that he put the wrong label on the package! We suggested he got a courier to collect it from the recipient of our bath(what must they have thought) but he said that he didn't have the money to do it, that was the final straw, he even said he would pay my loss of earnings, guess what, he lied about that too. I only wish this industry was regulated, Don't part with your money, we did get our money back but that was after about 5 months of keeping it in his bank,

Please do not buy off this company. They lie about deliveres …. Blame couriers and make the most obsurd excuses. Then when they promise to call you back in 15 minutes and don’t they decide to put on there out of office. Should be ashamed of themselves

Awful customer service, damaged bath

I placed an order back in Feb (Order 43205) which arrived months late (I had to chase the owner (who I understand you cannot name on here, but has responded to the majority of reviews) on the day of delivery to be told the delivery had been cancelled by the pallet company. The pallet company refuted this. This was the first of many issues re delivery).

Unfortunately when the bath eventually arrived, it arrived damaged. The owner/manager emailed on 8th August to say he’d be in contact with me the next day to find a resolution to this. I’ve chased both the owner and another member of his team on multiple occasions over the last 3 weeks and have not had any contact since. I can only assume
I am being ignored?!

Please be very wary about using this company. Considering contacting trading standards as this is a huge amount of money to spend, to receive a sub standard product in return!

UPDATE: I was offered a partial 25% refund for my bath which I accepted back in September. I was told this would be with me in 2 working days. Needless to say after chasing on many occasions (and again today!) I am still waiting!!

A year of delays, excuses and shoddy baths.

It is almost exactly a year since we placed our order with London Encaustic and I cannot begin to say how awful the experience has been. It has been a year of delays, excuses and shoddy baths. Timing, communication and quality of product has been disastrous. I massively regret ever ordering from them.

We ordered a Coln bath in early August last year because the product and price looked good. We were told delivery would be anything up to 20 weeks. It took around 30. At first, communication about delays was good, and then it stopped, so that we were in the position of always having to get in touch to try to get an idea of what was happening.

When the bath was finally delivered, the quality was shoddy. The enamel on the interior was pitted, like orange peel. We wrote to the company to say we weren’t happy with it and heard nothing back. This set the tone of things to come - delays, us writing, hearing nothing back, writing again… Eventually the bath was collected and another delivery promised. Same format - no communication, mails from our end, excuses from theirs… Finally another bath was delivered and it was worse than the first. It looked as though the enamel had been sprayed on with a paint gun. It was matte in places, orange-peel in others. I’ve got a better result using a home re-surfacing kit that you set with a hairdryer.

At this point we spat the dummy and said we wanted a refund. That was agreed to but they wanted the bath back before refunding us. Because of the awful experience we’d had to date with them, we simply didn’t believe the refund would ever eventuate and so they agreed to refund us half, with the other half to follow when the bath was back in their warehouse. That was over a month ago. Despite mails and assurances, nothing has happened. It honestly feels as if they’re taking the p***, promising things but doing nothing and waiting for us to shut up and go away. After a year of waiting we’ve had to buy another bath from another company, a purchase which was completed without fuss within two weeks. We are out of pocket to the tune of £2685, and looking at a small claims court case to try and get our money back.

Don’t buy from them

I would just like other people to know how awful the experience is. We ordered a bath in June 2021 and we’re still waiting for it in July 2022, we paid for it in full at the time. We’ve exchanged hundreds of emails, they have so many different excuses. Don’t buy anything from these people.

It Has Arrived!! and WOW!!

It Has Arrived!!!
Well after 7 months of waiting the bath has finally arrived and I have to say it is every bit as amazing as we hoped it would be.
So we ordered in December 21 hoping that it would be delivered before the bathroom was being done in May. Like everyone else who has left 1 star reviews we had to chase it up ourselves, contact from them to us was none existent but when I contacted them they were very pleasant.

We did feel like we were never going to get the bath, but, it arrived and it was well worth the wait. It is beautiful and great value.

Absolutely terrible company

Absolutely terrible company! No communication and just constant fob offs. Ordered a bath in February with a 6-10 week lead time. Still waiting! Constant missed promises and lack of communication.

Avoid like the plague unless you want to lose £3k and never get your product.

We had problems with the taps not…

We had problems with the taps not fitting the basin but Steve Harvey explained the problems they had with the manufacturer abs offered a full refund, deposited within hours. Really disappointed we don’t have the sink we want but can’t fault their response and after sales service. Lance
