We used to visit the Loch Fyne in Ascot until recently, last time I had a dicky stomach after eating there, stomach pain and visits to the loo every hour or so. Maybe the Food standards should check the place out.

My husband and I got food poisoning from eating at their Ascot restaurant. It was really bad as I felt I couldn't get up from bed and was just feeling stomach pain and nausea for more than 24 hrs. My husband had worse as he had a lot of vomiting and diarrhea. It was really disappointing. It's my first time eating at any of their restaurants and I will never eat from them again. I have eaten a lot of seafood from different restaurants and even from unsafe looking seaside eateries when I travel to other countries but I have never caught any food poisoning from those times. I can understand seafood is a risk for food borne illnesses but getting it from a very "established" restaurant? This goes to show they are unhygienic and their food are not fresh. Just stay away from this restaurant.

Birthday treat? Visited 12 Jan Birthday meal - "fresh?" oysters followed by seafood mixed grill for 5 - prawn cocktail and battered cod loin for 1. Within 30 hours the 5 with oysters and seafood mixed grill go down with severe diarrhea and vomiting the 1 who had prawn cocktail was fine. According to Greene King it's unlikely that the Loch Fyne Restaurant is the source. My wife is an experienced veterinary surgeon and one of the people who became ill - she confirms that the chances of it being anything else is approaching zero.

On the upside we all lost a significant amount of weight to kick start our new year diets.

After arriving at Loch Fyne Bluewater on Thursday 2nd Jan 2020, the restaurant was quite empty however after waiting to be seated at the entrance like the most non-important customers on the planet for over 7 minutes, we decided to go next door to COTE Brasserie and had an excellent fish meal. Our total spend for four people including wine was only £182.00 so we also made a saving.
In future we I take clients out COTE Brasserie will be our preferred choice as everyone enjoyed it and all agreed how 'Sloppy' Loch Fyne is becoming.

Great meal spoilt by a £5 shortage in the change. This was rectified but judging by the waiters body language I reckon it was no accident. I won't be returning. If you pay cash double check your change.

I wanted to order oysters for my husband’s 70th birthday so enquired beforehand about timing of the order. I ordered in good time and at the same time ordered several other items which I could use over the weekend (guests staying). Loch Fyne were aware it was all for a birthday celebration. At no point did I receive an emailed confirmation of the order. I was called the day before by a gentleman who told me no oysters were available and I originally agreed for them to be delivered the following Wednesday. However, on consideration, I called to cancel them and to make sure the rest of the order would arrive on Friday (the day before the party). I was assured they were on their way. As it got later on Friday, there was no news so I called but was told no tracking information was available. Then late on Friday afternoon I was totally shocked to receive an email from Loch Fyne Accounts to say I had been refunded in full! NO apology, NO explanation. And no delivery! I of course cannot comment on the quality of Loch Fyne’s produce but no matter how good it is, DO NOT rely on it arriving, especially for a special occasion.

Went as a group for my mother's 80th birthday. After ordering we all had to wait nearly an hour to get any food. Which was wrong anyway, it was dreadful really the service and attitude of the of the staff. We were actually told at one point could we hurry up as there was someone else waiting to go on our (pre-booked) table, considering they hadn't even come out with the food yet this was really bad.
The food was ok but expensive.
I would definitely never recommend or go back to Loch Fyne again.

I'm amazed they're still in business.

However they are not the worst experience with a company I've ever had.
Perhaps it was just bad luck that day that the service was below par.
Verdict: bad value for money. Go elsewhere.

I have now been twice in the last week to Twickenham branch. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Food was really good and service from Gawain and Sid was impeccable, both are very friendly and keen to help you choose the right dish with lots of suggestions from the menu. I took my sons on the next visit and they are also now new fans for Loch Fyne!

Went to loch fyne Saturday eve for an occasion.
So very disappointed - I didn’t like the main I ordered ( dressed crab ) it was really gritty like loads of shell ground down , not pleasant at all - I did say I didn’t like it when we were asked how our food was - wasn’t offered anything else, didn’t have the general manager come over, like you usually would .... they did however take it off the bill - it’s not the point - not interested in customer feedback - took the bill in silence, was so uncomfortable !

I have been a member of this chain for a number of years and owing to the increasing number of emails received decided to unsubscribe from their site, I was somewhat surprised to receive a warning from my Macafee security system that the site was extremely risky and not to enter. The same happened when I clicked on contact us. I am wondering why I am sure Macafee must have a good reason to issue the warning,

Luckily I was able to contact them through a telephone number on the internet but it still leaves me somewhat concerned as to why this happens. Just be aware that once you sign up you will have problems unsubscribing and may be left concerned as to why a reputable company gets this warning.

Where to start?
I've been two times to Edinburgh restaurant at Newhaven, and it seems that I'll be back for the 3rd round.

The staff - welcoming, friendly, approachable, helpful, and very very busy - so far my partner and myself met with two guys & one girl - every one of these three deserves a medal. One of the best waiter service I've ever experienced. Especially last night 29/05/019.
One tiny minus it was a little bit to long wait to pay the bill - but considering the size of the restaurant, number of guests, and number of staff it's not surprising at all. One more waiter would do the trick.

The food - burgers excellent, tuna magnificent, salmon very very good . The portions for the price could be a little bit bigger, however I have to stress that I haven't left hungry, and surprisingly feel nicely full instead of stuffed.

Tiny minus 2 is that the restaurant runs out of beef steaks before evening kicks in. But it's really tiny tiny minus because no one can 7ctually predict how many steaks will be sold through out the day.

The drinks - refreshingly tasty - at least mine Cucumber Gin Lemonade was.

My 25% discount voucher has been accepted at 9PM with no objections.

For Mothering Sunday lunch, I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars after the feedback I got from family and reading reviews in the past.
Sadly it is not to be.

We were seated upstairs overlooking the restaurant below.
The decor is great, a little bland but very open and bright.

Ambience was good although background noise was a little loud due to the high ceilings but, it was busy and therefore excused.

We had placed our drink orders and shortly after, our three courses were given to our server for our meal for the Mothering Sunday menu

We expected a 20 minute wait for our starters, which arrived within the timescale and although portions were small, it was delicious. We all commented on how nice the food was, so we were looking forward to our mains, then after our desserts.

After a 40 minute wait for our main we enquired how long our main would be. By this time we had been seated 21/2 hours.
We were told we were next in line to be served.
15 minutes later the manager comes to our table to say the salmon was too pink and holding up the plating.
With my son as a chef and also someone who ate salmon regularly I knew this made no sense Salmon is one of the quickest fish to cook and should have been timed in a well run kitchen . It should also be slightly pink in thr centre and as the salmon was pan grilled, this shouldn't have take more than a few minutes.

An hour from the starter plates being cleared, we received our meal.

Now, at no point can I complain about the food. It was delicious and the waiting staff were attentive and friendly but the waiting time let them down.
As we had waited so long, none of us were keen to have desert which was part of the mother's day package.

The manager on duty gave us a refund of quite a respectable part of the bill upon leaving upon which we were grateful.

Overall, food was amazing, front of house staff impeccable, it was just the kitchen team that let the restaurant down.

I would give it a higher rating but the wait really spoilt our Mothering Sunday meal out as a family.

Would I recommend this restaurant to family and friends? NO
Would I come back here again? MAYBE If the kitchen changed.
Can I fault front of house staff? NO
Are prices reasonable for the food received? ONLY IF YOU HAVE A DEAL OR VOUCHER.
Ambience of restaurant? BECAUSE OF HIGH CEILINGS, IS NOISY AND LACKS ORIGINALITY.

Had a lovely meal with the family in Wokingham branch. Great service and good quality fish dinner for all of us. Very attentive service, thanks alot!

We ate at the Vulcan building restaurant and the food was superb. The service was ace and great value for money. We will definitely be back.

Just eaten at the Edinburgh branch - my girlfriend's birthday - over-priced, totally underwhelming. She had crab...A crab...very little meat - £40!! When I say a crab, I mean a crab - nothing, apart from a small tub of mayonnaise with it. I had sea bream - the fish wasn't bad - the small, uncooked, potato (singular) that accompanied it - oh, and about six tiny green leaves of - something - that came with it...I'm currently eating a couple of sandwiches at home - 30mins after leaving the restaurant. The 'creme brulee' was cold custard with a thin glaze over it. The coffee was ok. Won't rush back. On a positive note - the waitress looking after us (Shona, I think) was first class.

Fantastic service and delicious food - always a fantastic service with attentive staff and great atmosphere. Can't wait to return for our anniversary!

Spencer gave us great service and took the time to have a short conversation with us which is unusual in restaurants because they are so busy but it made the whole visit more intersting., The food was terrific

Yes it’s bedn revamped but still not value for money

Tried to use a voucher but was told only to be used before 6 pm !! Really ?

Waiter was being too Italian

Food was tiny portions ( no we are not big people girlfriend is a size 8 if ya must know

Prawns and Scollips were overcocked

The lobster was off so had sea bass very disdapointed , the salad that came with it was also a joke

The drinks were ok
But expensive

So all in all will not return ,paid 132 fir two ,, not worth 32 in my opinion , just another restaraunt chain ripping people off with mediocre food at daft prices

Sort it out greene king get a grip

Stayed at the Loch hotel in bath. The room wasn't clean at all and it cost a staggering £192 for the night - avoid Loch! The breakfast in the morning was tiny - the worst fry up I've ever had. There's no concierge or proper reception desk - a weird set up.
