My concern is that once money is sent, there is little accountability and communication may simply stop.

Fortunately, I didn't lose any money, but I can see how a less cautious user could end up in a much worse situation. This site is a scam. Do not prepay anyone for anything. Everyone is fake and they will try to extort you when you reject their money requests. Its starts with some lowball prepay and then they go after you. Im going to report locanto to the world. And the Police and national government.

About 99.9% of the girls on here are fake. They show their photos and tell you how they will satisfy you physically and emotionally, but it’s simply not true. You see, before meeting you they demand a deposit upfront. Once they receive it they never show up, and you are out your money.
They swear to meet you after you make the deposit, but you’ll never see them.

In fact, most of them are foreign males, impersonating attractive women. They ask for a deposit because they are thousands of miles away, and this is why they don’t show up.
I recommend that you not use Locanto for dating because you will be disappointed.

They have a new rating system for posting that reviews your post and gives a visibility score.
It takes four descriptive paragraphs and several head shots pictures just get good visibility. Anything less and the y rate it poor and place your post at the back. Even if you're a paid user. I contacted them, due to it being so much work to post an add. Didn't understand why they would punish someone if they weren't descriptive enough or didn't want their face picture, online. Can't imagine if someone didn't have good comprehension of English language. Anyway they suggested I pay for a premium post. On top of being a paid member. I can't imagine this would be a huge draw to use their web site. Considering most sites make it easier not harder to post.

It is a total scam, after paying subscription they made you pay to send messages plus it's impossible to see profile user. A complete scam, stay away from that site

I've been a member for over 10 years, posted an advert and two weeks later was met with "Your account has been banned"

Emailed their customer service team twice and have been ignored twice.
