I chose to order from this company as it was the most competitive price, but that was the only plus point. I received this invitation to review, 2 days after placing the order, but the order had not arrived, so not sure how they expect a rating when the order had not even been delivered!!!Delivery was stated as 3-5 business days, which was fine, I would hoped it would have been sooner rather than later. However by the 5th day I had heard noting and there was no way of progress chasing the order on line with an expected delivery date and time (most suppliers do offer this), so I rang the customer to enquire when it would be coming and was told between 1pm and 2pm that day, by 2.30pm no sign of it, so rang again to be told it was on it's way and maybe it had held up in traffic, but the depot is only 20 minutes from here, if that was the case then maybe someone could have called me. Eventually it arrived around 3.30pm
Very disappointed, in hindsight, I would rather have paid the extra to another supplier and have a more reliable delivery service.

The guy at the counter was efficient and knew his stuff. A preplanned delivery was arranged and all organised.

I have used Lawsons for some years now but only started my business a couple of years ago. Lawsons have always supplied me and been very professional. They have been a total asset to PGH Builders and I look forward to working alongside them for years to come.

Rude driver and rotten posts. Their treated posts have rotted through within 3 years. Some have twisted too.

Then today I had the misfortune to meet one of their drivers who thought it ok "because the house is on a bend" to block the full width of the pavement, and cause an obstruction whilst he parked on a blind bend with a T junction on it. All to save him walking an extra 20 yards to deliver a single length of timber.

I’m now 2 months into my building project and have been purchasing my materials from Lawsons from the start.

I was so impressed with the customer service that I was compelled to write a review, which just happens to be the last one on this review site as Google won’t allow you to provide multiple reviews under the same gmail account, but, there’s more than one way of skinning a cat as I again felt compelled to provide another review as the customer service at Lawsons appears to be totally consistent.

I was recently served by Sammy and Gary who demonstrated that customer services is at the forefront of Lawsons. A problem arose with one of my orders so I explained the matter to Sammy who then relayed it to Gary.

The way in which Gary resolved the issue left me feeling not only surprised in the outcome but also most grateful, so much so that I was again compelled to write a review to commend Gary and Sammy for their help and assistance in resolving the issue.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending Lawsons as my experience so far has gone to confirm that their customer service is first class.

Well done Gary and Sammy and thanks again. Please keep up the great work as you’re all a credit to the company.

P.S – I nearly forgot to mention the yard agents who are always there to help with picking your order requirements, especially Claudia and Dave who seem to have the strength and energy of a team as they don’t shirk away from lifting heavy items into the back of my vehicle. So again, I must give Claudia and Dave a 'well done and keep up the great work'!

Excellent service from Gary in sales and Kevin the delivery driver who was most helpful

Purchased Lawsons supposedly top quality fine Leighton Buzzard plastering sand but it was more like cheap sharp sand, full of small pebbles, no good for plastering. Had to go to another builders merchant in Biggleswade to get some proper stuff and it was 40% cheaper. Complete waste of my time so won’t bother going back again

there's a wonderful level of confidence and satisfaction in dealing with a company with staff that always are friendly , knowledgeable, helpful and have a smile . Lawsons Bedford have great service ethics !

All the guys at the Bedford branch are extremely pleasant and helpful from the guy on the gate to the staff at the counter. The guy on the counter in particular was very helpful and friendly
