I put K-Seal in my old pickup about 18 months ago and it did not work, but I chalked it up to all the junk that was in my radiator (including B...D....) fluid that had not been changed for probably 10 years. I drained the radiator, put in new antifreeze and topped it off with another bottle of K-Seal Ultimate. Instant success and I have been driving on it for almost 2 years. Couldn't be happier for what I think will be a permanent fix.

This is an interesting and informative review for others and myself, as it highlights something we discuss with potential customers.
Although it is easily overlooked, it is important to have your coolant flushed and replaced during your annual service.
There was no issue with an alternative product being present. However, having a clean and clear cooling system will allow K-Seal the best opportunity to make the repair.

I am sorry to hear that we have been unsuccessful, but given that our guarantee instructions on the label state we can offer a replacement bottle, I am surprised you have not reached out for help.
You have subsequently emailed asking about a guarantee, but this was sent to our UK address, and I believe you are in the US.
You have not stated anything concerning the actual coolant leak, so I am unable to offer any assistance other than passing on your email to the USA team.

K-Seal clogged my heater core
K-Seal clogged my heater core, which cost me hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours to get it all out of the system so I could have working heat again. K-Seal says, "The particles in our K-Seal products are very precisely designed to be large enough to repair holes up to 0.635mm in size but deliberately small enough to never block any passageways or tubes within the cooling system, including those inside the heater core and radiator." This is absolutely false. It did stop the leak as intended, but the particles were not small enough to pass through the heater core without clogging it up.

The main thing to note is that you stated that K-Seal had solved your coolant leak.
On our website, we discuss that, in some instances, the symptoms you have described can be associated with a fix, but this is not a blockage. There is a solution that the mechanic should have followed that would certainly not be as expensive as he has charged you.
I have looked but cannot find any communication from you to resolve this issue, so I have no technical background information.

I am thrilled to hear of a success story of repair-do-not-replace, which saves money and is more environmentally friendly in the long run.
I can understand why mechanics would want to replace parts, but if they are unsure where the leak's source is, changing all the hoses and clamps is just a shot in the dark.

Did my due diligence...
I have an Audi A3 Quattro 2015 and had a very minor leak from the water pump.Thermostat area, only required top-up every 4 weeks, but annoying as puddles after cold sitting, so thinking it was an expansion sealing leak.
I looked at doing it myself to replace the gaskets and is a massive job 14 hrs +... (I'm a caravan mechanic so have all the tools and able to do repairs)
So when researching I came across K-seal and read like 200 reviews and took the line, if it doesn't work ill have to replace coolant anyway...
As my leak was very minor I decided to add 1/3rd of a bottle and see what happened... So as instructed I added the liquid and ran the engine for 20 mins at idle.
The leak has now gone and not a drop since, so my thoughts are the small gasket leak was plugged easily and no leaks in the last few days.. all dry .
I will probably flush the coolant in a week so its back to usual.
I had a look at the cost to replace the water pump and gaskets and would have been $1000 (AUD) or more depending on what needed doing, so I'm happy its fixed the leak and saved me a hefty sum.
I'm aware it may need doing eventually but at this point I'm stoked it repaired the small leak with only a 3rd of a bottle...
So yes it works..

You are quite correct when you mention expansion sealing the leak. It is common to see a coolant leak overnight or when the engine has been switched off for a while.
The coolant leak you had seemed very complex, not only because it is associated with the water pump but also because 14+ hours of labour sounds like we saved you a lot of hard work.

I bought the product yesterday for $30.00. I added it directly to the radiator, and I then ran the vehicle for about 20 minutes longer than the time suggested on the bottle. At first, it seemed like it might be working, it never was able to completely seal the head gasket leak. On the bottle it said that it is 100% guaranteed or your money back. I'm hoping I am able to get my money back. It would probably work for smaller head gasket leaks, but apparently the head gasket on my 2010 pontiac vibe 1.8l has to large of a leak.

Amazing product! Out of state, on a trip, 30 minutes before a shop closed for the day, I had a major coolant leak. Possibly the water pump housing. A mechanic added K Seal, and told me, he had seen it do things he never thought possible. I laughed at him. No way this is going to stop that leak. I guess he's laughing now. It not only stopped it, I can't find where it was leaking. I don't know how it works, but I do know it works. I had never heard of this brand before, but I tell everyone about it now. Keep some with you, because you never know when you may need it.

I understand your concern and I'm here to help. However, I am afraid I cannot offer any meaningful comment, given that I have not received any previous communication from you, which, given your claims, I would have thought we would be the first port of call.
From a technical perspective, you only think K-Seal has done something. I need more information on the original symptoms. However, from your description, a failed Head Gasket will deliver the symptoms you describe.

All I can say is WOW! I am still shocked that this K-Seal ultimate actually took care of my head gasket leak in my 2011 Toyota RAV 4! I had 2 garages tell me I needed a new Engine and one shop quoted me $3,700 to replace the head gasket. Mind you, my engine only has 99,000 miles on it. Figured it was worth a shot to try K-Seal. Turned out to be the best 28 bucks I’ve ever spent!!

I'm sorry to see that the repair was not permanent, but simply adding more K-Seal without discussing with us why the first failed is unlikely to yield a different result.
I spend a lot of time here encouraging potential customers to get in touch to discuss the coolant ley they have.
Your material (Rubber Hoses, O-Rings, etc.) may well have been outside our technical specifications or unsuitable for a lasting fix.

I followed the direction in installing this k-seal head gasket repair. I have a 4.3 vortec engine. I drove the van hot. I decided to give k-seal a try. I also gave blue devil a try. Both only work up to 90%. I still got coolent in my oil plus I still had a miss fire. I took the cylinder heads off. The passage head was cracked.it may of worked if it was a blown head gasket.carl

I appreciate we have been unsuccessful and that you find this frustrating, but the review is misleading. I would like to clarify a couple of points for anyone reading this.
It is essential that you follow our directions, but stating that you "still got coolant in my oil" needs to include that our instructions on the bottle state, "K-Seal is not suitable to coolant to oil leaks."
Also, how big is the crack that you have uncovered? We can only seal cracks 0.25mm wide, and you have not specified whether you are within that spec.
I suspect that Blue Devil failed as well, and the crack was beyond the capabilities of a stop-leak product in the first place, although we have never been given the opportunity to try again for you.

I am sorry to hear about your roadside experience. Still, you mentioned little about the symptoms you were experiencing before you called the AA. How long have you been without coolant? Did the vehicle overheat, and how was K-Seal applied?
Indeed, there is nothing for anyone reading this to draw comparisons to, as you did not purchase or add K-Seal yourself. I am trying to understand why it would cost you more money when you have not stated the original fault and if anything further needs to be fixed.

Nu 1 week later koppakking eruit en motor loopt heet, borrelen in koelvloeistof reservoir.

Granted I knew something was wrong with my vehicle as I was refilling coolant every few days and getting along. I used Kseal and the problem went from bad to worse, radiator fluids started draining instantly. I was coping just fine before. Will never use any products of the shelf again without proper advice from a professional.

I have a 2012 bmw x5. it becomes a nightmare since I started doing repair/service at BMW Tenafly about 3 years ago. For the three years, I have spent over $15000 to deal with engine oil leakage, water pump, check engine light etc. My experience with BMW Tenafly service is horrible - wish to alert friends in North Jersey to avoid going there fore service.
To make the story short, I noticed slow coolant leakage after BMW Tenafly changed my water pump end of July. I had to add 1 gallon coolant every other week.
By web surfing, I noticed K-Seal and tried in the morning of 9/19th. I haven't found any leakage from that moment on.
I know it may be too short to jump into a conclusion. But I am really really happy so far on the result.
