How it started: I was interested in teaching in Korea but didn't know where to start. I queried Perplexity and it recommended Korvia at the top.

How was the process? Superb. The staff at Korvia helped me navigate everything from the strategic-level questions (EPIK or Hagwon?) to the practical (tweaking lesson plan) to the administrative. The process could not have been easier from my perspective.

An outside perspective: I happened to talk with a Korean-Canadian teacher (fluent) in my indoctrination class. She happened to have applied directly to EPIK and she admitted she wished she would have applied through Korvia given the challenges she faces in her direct application process.

- Webinars throughout the application process that cover best practices, interview tips, and documentation needs for both the application and post interview.
- One-on-one support from a full time Korvia team member.
- A very comprehensive application checklist that includes a timeline and guidance for documentation such as background checks and how to apostille documents.

If this is your first time applying to EPIK, I would recommend applying through Korvia. The process (I think) can become a bit overwhelming especially with keeping track of the documents and ensuring you have those documents in/mailed on time.

I was too much of an anxious person to apply to EPIK directly and I must say that I went with the right agency for someone like me.

When I went to apply for EPIK in October 2024, I couldn't even find the correct website. It kept blocking me from visiting it and I had to look into a recruiting agency. I am SO happy it blocked me from finding the actual website because Korvia's (free) service exceeded my expectations. I underestimated the application process and didn't realize how tedious and long it would be. My recruiter, Tyler, was amazing. He answered my million and one questions. I always received such prompt responses from him whenever I had concerns or doubts about something (bali bali culture is no joke).
