Some called the Kindle Publishing Income Program (KPI) a "Well-Oiled Rip-Off Machine" and this is accurate.

They present their course with great confidence, with assurances you can achieve great success.

First these guys sold Sophie Howard's "Blue Sky Amazon" and once they received countless negative reviews of the course, they moved onto "KPI", again with Sophie Howard as the face of the company, despite her not doing much of anything for her own business, as her own search engine to research books, shows.

Knowledge Source uses Sophie Howard as their marketing face to sell their snake oil.

This course comes with a money-back guarantee, so I thought it would be worth signing up for. HOWEVER, they make it nearly impossible to complete the courses within the time frame necessary to comply with the term agreements (ie the very very fine print). Plus, the minute I started the course, I started getting HARD upsell for their $13,000 course, which they implied was the only way I'd actually find success.

For example on not being able to get a refund, the KPI course has over 300 hours of training and while they tell you to learn at your own pace, you need to CRAM and RUSH like crazy and then release your first book within a few months to comply with their contract for a refund if you're not satisfied. Nobody can watch that much information (and some of the videos seem dated, by the way) and absorbs it all. If you want to comply with their terms to get a refund, you need to quit your job, ignore your friends and family and do nothing but watch these videos.

The audacity of tricking hundreds and hundreds of people looking to help with their income.

I know personally and for a fact: Approximately 1% of KPI students find success selling Kindle books. When 99% of students lose money (big bucks on their course, hiring freelance writers, graphic artists, PPC experts, etc), it's clear this is just a trap to get you to spend your money on their ill-fated courses.

Read the reviews for their courses. Countless negative reviews. I was bribed to leave a 5-star review in exchange for extra coaching, so all of the positive reviews you'll see are paid for.

As I write this, KPI has only 61% positive reviews and the positive reviews are bought. What does this tell you??

STAY CLEAR.

I invested in the personal coaching program, and the coach changed, and I was never scheduled to complete the program with the company.

I personally did not feel the program was worth the cost. Much of the information shared can already be found through free YouTube videos and online resources. I was hoping for more human connection, collaboration, and meaningful interaction throughout the experience. For the price point, I expected deeper support, mentorship, and community. It may work well for some people, but for me, the value simply did not match the investment.

The refund policy is a scam. You will not get a refund because the requirements for a refund is impossible to meet. Sadly I lost big $$$$.

Be very, very sure about doing this course AND have a crystal ball…
AS a 68 year old pensioner I was looking for another income stream to aid in my financial survival. After paying 2 instalments (gulp) I had to have unforeseen surgery. Applying to the powers that be I was told, no refunds unless I paid for the full course, completed all of the course in the set time, and I was then given an extra month’s grace to complete it, Given the drugs and pain connected to the surgery I could no more write a book and do all the requirements than program a space shuttle. No refunds, full stop and end of story. My enthusiasm for this course and KPI was now completely extinguished. It was hard to get replies to my queries and I had to resort to Facebook messages to get attention. Like labour in childbirth the only way was to go through the pain of completing the course. I gave up as I had enough to cope with - and a whole lot of other medical aids to purchase to help me be mobile. My money was much better spent on these things - and was actually supportive and helpful… unlike this course and its rules.

I have had to wait three months before I can claim my money back guarantee. Still waiting and will seek legal advice. What a scam. People are aware of independently published rubbish and you can not make thousands of dollars. That in it's self is also a complete pile of rubbish. Save your money and do not buy into this rubbish. You are only making Sophie richer and you poorer. If it was that great then return peoples money when they ask for it.

My experience with Sophie Howard’s KPI learning program was disappointing overall. I was initially intrigued because of the money-back guarantee—it gave me confidence to try it. However, I quickly realized that the requirements to qualify for that guarantee are extremely difficult to meet, making it nearly impossible for most people to actually get their money back if the program doesn’t work for them.

The course itself includes over 300 hours of content, but much of it feels unnecessarily long, repetitive, and redundant. Instead of clear, streamlined instruction, the same concepts are taught multiple times by different instructors. What could be explained in a short lesson often turns into hours of repeated material, with only small takeaways from each teacher.

While the platform looks visually appealing, the user experience is frustrating. Navigation is difficult, and it’s hard to find your place once you leave a section. They even recommend keeping your browser open so you don’t lose your spot—which makes it inconvenient if you need to step away or restart your device.

Another downside is that while they teach you how to create books, the tools they recommend (like Canva) aren’t fully compatible with Amazon’s formatting requirements. This often leads to needing additional paid services, such as hiring freelancers for formatting or cover design—adding even more to the overall cost. On top of that, there are upsells within the program, which makes the investment feel even heavier.

In my opinion, the program is significantly overpriced for the value it delivers. The content is disorganized, overly repetitive, and difficult to revisit unless you take extremely detailed notes. I personally couldn’t finish the program because it was too tedious and poorly structured.

There are many creators on YouTube who teach similar (and often clearer) information for free. I would strongly recommend exploring those resources before considering spending $2,500 on this program.

Great tool to publish books as a beginner for me. Great team competent and experienced, plenty of help every week.

Truthfully , I have worked with a few different publishers and by far Shane Dawson and his team were the best. I think that they went out of their way to complete my book, as best as it could be.

I signed up with my Aus Dollar entry at $3,500 expecting to be walked through the steps. The material is VAST and as a newbie I found it OVERWHELMING. The content is genuinely good, but not easy to assimilate. I am 9 months into the course and I cannot get past step ONE profitability assessment with confidence. There is help offered for an additional fee of $13,000 (the hand-holding K-Express Coaching program). I would have liked to have known that my $3,500 dollars would not give me the step by step help I need, that in fact, it would require an ADDITIONAL $13,000 to hold my hand and help me succeed.

This is all separate to the non-disclosed support tools you will be encouraged to purchase - publisher rocket (a good investment), Atticus, ai subscriptions, editors, formatters, cover designer, ads, etc. You need to know there are plenty more additional fees along with the course fees. Just be prepared for this.

There is a library of good resources to wade through by yourself. I want buyers to beware they are not being told of the amount of wading required if this is unfamiliar terrain. There are weekly support sessions that are offered, neither of which I can actually attend due to the time of day they are set. So it's just me and EVEN MORE video content watching replays if I choose to scrummage through the library, hoping for help with my lack of confidence in step one.
I have asked for personal support with the possibility of paying for just the first step hurdle of getting my book topic properly assessed and verified profitable, so I can actually step into this with confidence without having to invest a quarter of my yearly income. There is no offer of a one step coaching help available yet.

The time commitment expectation is far beyond what is cited for the inexperienced. Initially it will be a massive time commitment. But if you're like me, there will be a heck of a lot of avoiding because it all feels so hard.

Be aware before you buy.

I attended the initial promotional webinar which stated a discounted price over three months installments. This turned out not to be true. When I found out they have made it 5 (490 USD) payments I had already paid alot of money that they refused to refund (even though there was lack of transparency from their end). They offered to pause and return when I can pay the rest (proper blackmail!)
My advice is to stay clear unless you have spare thousands to lose.

I love that this is a real business that shows me step by step how to be successful, without having prior knowledge of writing a book. This program gives me the tools I need to succeed, unlike other courses I have purchased.

This program is very comprehensive and they will absolutely provide all of the content and training to help you publish a book on Amazon in pretty short order. In hindsight, I should have stuck with the initial KPI program and not paid the extra money for the personalized coaching. While I loved working with the coaches and the coaching is good, it will not help you actually sell your books on amazon. I'll never recoup that money. I published 2 non-fiction books and 8 medium content activity and coloring books and only one of the non-fiction books got any real sales but not until I invested about $200-$300/month in additional amazon advertising but even doing that, I still lost money. So be very careful. I researched this program and decided to do this in retirement but now, after about a year and a half, doing everything right (according to the coaches), I have lost thousands in retirement money that I could have invested because I never successfully found a profitable niche.

KPI is a great course and well worth the investment. The team are very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s been a great investment so far.

It is a great program, designed with care and honesty. I feel well supported and very good about having enrolled in it. Everyone I met so far is not only lovely but also so dedicated to helping me succeed.
