can't wait to try a different sandwich next time.
For you tourists out there, you have to try Ike's! Opened since 2007, it has that unique sf ambience that you cannot find in any other sandwich places ("Ike's Dirty Secret Sauce" is spread on every freshly baked bread) and they include caramel popsicle inside the sandwich wrapper to enjoy in the end.
Although the place is crowded and has no seats whatsoever, this will be a great way to actually explore the city - head over to Dolores park for people/dog watching, chat with your friends, or even make new friends! After that, you can go to bi-rite creamery for a delicious dessert and grocery shopping at any of the organic produce markets or chill at a cafe. You would be exercising, eating, AND sightseeing at the same time haha.
The people working there were super nice and the interior covered with stickers, graffiti, and posters was so interesting but I couldn't film the place due to the packed crowd. There were only two of us and because of the packed space, I wouldn't recommend bringing a large group here (unless the group doesn't mind waiting outside).
I ordered the delicious, creamy, chicken barbeque and can't wait to try a different sandwich next time.
