I needed to get my companies Health and Safety up to date , I looked through the internet and left my details with three companies. The next morning Nick Daley from HS Direct rang me back and we had a great chat about my needs and what HS Direct could offer. The other companies did not ring me back!! Nick then rang me back after sending me details about HS Direct and we discussed the best way forward for my needs. I then had a teams meeting with Mark to show me around the software which is very intuitive. The software is very customisable and easy to use, giving me the ability to get my site safety records in order.

Poor service , poor communication .HS Direct will continue to take your annual subscription without notification. When I asked them to cancel my policy at the start of a new term they refused even though I told them I was retiring through ill health. I was forced to ask Mastercard to intervene and issue a refund , needless to say they did and a full refund was issued.

Mis-sold Service, No Support, No Refund
I signed up to HS Direct in June 2025 after being assured over the phone that they would create a tailored health & safety package for my small business. They were aware I was under pressure due to a recent incident, and they promised hands-on help, industry-specific documents, and ongoing support.
What I actually received was a basic online portal full of generic templates and vague advice — not what was described or what my business needed. The “tailored” package turned out to be pre-filled forms with my logo and generic categories, which I was told to edit and figure out myself. In the demo walkthrough, I was rushed through how to complete forms manually (which I could have done using free resources). When I challenged the impractical advice for my business, the answer was essentially “do what you want, but this is what we recommend.”
After asking for a refund within days — and before using the service — I was told there was no cooling-off period and no refunds allowed, something that was *never* mentioned on the call or in writing. Since then, I’ve sent multiple emails and had no response. It’s now over a month and they continue to ignore all communication.
I’ve since created all my health & safety documentation properly using better advice and am now pursuing a refund through my credit card company. **Small businesses, be warned**: they are not transparent, and their service is not fit for micro or mobile companies. In my opinion, this felt like a hard-sell trap rather than genuine support.
Avoid unless you know exactly what you're getting and are happy to pay hundreds for self-service templates.
"Update " your reply is a total Lie you have not replied to any of my formal complaints or request for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Had a real caring & considerate call with Nick Daley. I was just looking for a health & safety policy, but Nick opened my eyes to all the other policies I was missing to be compliant. Although I’ve interacted with other members of the team – who have all been incredibly helpful – it’s Rodney I speak with most, and I genuinely can’t thank him enough. He is a credit to your organisation and a real asset to your team.

very poor communication, they renew contract without consulting me if I want to renew, took money from my accountant without my consent, I contacted then the same day to talk about, they didn’t do anything and couldn’t cancel payment

Excellent service provided by Roger Simpson - I had been in discussions with him for almost a year before committing. His service has never waivered - always professional. Upon taking up the service, he has been prompt, informative and a dream SPOC.
Excellent service provided by Gary through the onboarding sessions. More to come with team sessions, and 1-2-1's to check understanding are no problem.
Very professional so far. Packages are straightforward and very user friendly. Would highly recommend.
