Homebuyer Online 

I have no hesitation to recomend homebuyers online if you want a prompt professional services which matters a lot in these "sellers" market of London.

Cheapest quote by far, easy booking and payment. It took a while after booking to receive the surveyors details, and then again to find out when it was completed. The report received within a few days was very thorough, and the surveyor was happy to discuss queries. All in all, a good experience.

Ordered and paid online 6th August. Heard nothing for three days so called to ask when survey would be done. Was told they would check and call me back. Approx one hour later they called to say they had "changed" surveyors and that survey would be done 17th August which was a week away. By 21st August not heard anything so called the Surveyor. He talked me through his findings and said the report would be ready in a few days. 27th August I called Surveyor again and was told report would be ready to view in 24 hours. That deadline passed and Surveyor called to say it would be ready this morning. By 1.20pm I started chasing again.......... Now I have the report, which is fine. I have had 2 surveys done on other properties (not through Homebuyer) and this is equally as good. My main complaint is the time it has taken from start to finish is just over three weeks.

I thought, when I booked a survey, that it would be conducted quickly. Instead, i had to wait a couple of weeks. The survey, itself was good but I could probably have got a better price elsewhere.

We had a very informative talk to an adviser by phone and booked the survey to confirm our suspicions of rot under the floor of one room in our prospective purchase. We were sent a message to advise us of the surveyer's name and that he would be in touch by email. This was done in about 3 days and our survey was completed within a week. We were able to speak to him prior to his visit and he was most helpful and gave us a fair idea of the outcome which was confirmed in his a detailed reportwithin 4 days of his visit.

i thought the quality and the detail in the report was good, but as a lot of people have commented on here, I didnt hear anything from the team until the report was actually completed. I'm sure this is normal in the industry, but when you are making an online transaction a little re-assurance that the order is being progressed would be useful.

I needed to arrange an RCV RICS survey quickly on a Sunday and used this system which INITIALLY seemed to work well. The allocated Surveyor called the Agents on the Monday but made an appointment a month in advance which I would have rejected as too slow. I got several confusing emails from the Survey Office one of which asked for the fee which I had already paid online. The amount they asked for was also lower by some £50.00, but it may be a VAT issue. Still awaiting survey which is a week away.

When I booked the service I mentioned that the valuation was not to get a mortgage and that it was a cash purchase. I therefore needed a fairly accurate valuation rather than the valuation coming back as my final offer. My final offer was 342k. The valuation came back as 342k. When I phoned up to ask the surveyor, it was clear that he couldn't explain how he arrived at the figure.

I would have rated them 5 stars if it was not for the initial contact (or lack thereof!)
When I first went through the process I selected the survey I would like and paid the £350+ fee and when greeted with the thank you page I was told that I would be contacted shortly by someone (i filled out the request on a Monday at 14:27)
After not hearing anything for more than 30 hours I sent them an email asking what was happening as the money had left my account and I had heard no news. I was then told that all is ok and that an appointment was being arranged and I would receive the details shortly. Within 4 days of receiving that I had the surveyors details emailed to me and all communication from that point, including telling me the report was completed, has been brilliant! If they could just get that initial contact sorted out I would be more than happy to give 5 stars and recommend their services to anyone.

UPDATE:
To clarify, after the comment on my above post, from initial order to receiving the report took 4 days which I was very happy about. The part I was not so happy about is that it seemed that I had to check that everything was ok even though I was told I would be contacted shortly when making the order. I don't request surveys everyday and I was initially worried about spending so much money without having someone to talk to, I can now assure anyone who does want to get a survey done that this is a great way to do it and better value than from an estate agent or broker.

Was very pleased with the whole service, good advice, very prompt and easy to use. Both the person I spoke to on the phone and the surveyor were honest and reliable. The survey was completed quickly and were even called by surveyor to discuss further issues, thank you.

I was a bit worried about using a site I had never heard of but survey was arranged within 2 hours of booking it and carried out within 5 days. Report came through within 24 hours. Very impressed.

The survey was carried out completely transparentely to me and therefore painless.

The Agents held the keys and took care of that side. Report was with me within 24 hours. No issues in the report, so all good as far as I can see.

Very satisfied with how it went and would definitely use this service again.

Really impressed with this site and process. Report was requested and paid for, the process then ran like clockwork. Report was produced within 48 hours of survey and immediately available on the site as a PDF.

We booked the survey on line on Friday, Monday we had confirmation the survey was booked for two days later, and we received the report the following Sunday. Quick turnaround and good communication, keeping us informed of progress. The survey report was really helpful and informative, easy to understand, clear and well written. This is the first time that I have used Homebuyer Online. This service was less expensive than the similar service offered via the estate agent. I found the survey report very clear and informative and met my expectations as to the detail covered by the survey. The only reason I have not given a 5 star rating is that I do not feel sufficiently qualified to judge whether a better service would be available elsewhere. However, I feel satisfied with the service and would certainly recommend Homebuyer Online to others.
