Just taken delivery of some fantastic, handmade furniture for both a bedroom & a living room.
Great company to deal with, with good communication, high quality materials at a reasonable price. Very happy customer.

Cannot rate this company highly enough, bought the Indigo plank bed with a mattress, the customer service was phenomenal, the boys who delivered them were amazing, built the bed and even touched up the wax. The quality is just fantastic, so, so impressed! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Do NOT use this company. I ordered a wardrobe and bed from them 2 weeks ago. The wardrobe arrived quickly. However I ordered an extra clothes rail for which I was charged an extra £10. When it came the handrail was used and not new and there was no fixings with it. I ordered a bed which was delivered and wrong. Then waited a few more days for the correct one to come, wrong one came again. They kept changing delivery date and eventually the 3rd bed was delivered after nearly 2 weeks and after many messages and conversations confirming it would be the correct size and colour etc and it was wrong again. I contacted them and said I wanted to cancel my order and get my deposit back as I had lost all faith in them to which he sent a nasty reply saying that I wouldn’t get my money back and he should be charging me for the 3 deliveries.
Very unprofessional mismanaged company who have no idea what they are doing. DO NOT USE

I’ve updated the review title and added two more stars for my beautiful furniture but the overall experience was still measly, even if it has now been rectified and sincere apologies received.

My first order of bookcase and coffee table was guaranteed to arrive before Christmas and so came within 3 weeks. The varnish wasn’t cured and both items were tacky and already scuffed. The varnish 7 months later still comes off very easily and my table is covered in scuffs which go back to very light bare wood. My wood polish doesn’t touch the bare marks and I’m still waiting to receive their wood varnish. Phil told me he would throw in the varnish for getting things wrong with my missing shelf but when I called to chase up the shelf and varnish his wife had no knowledge of that because Phil makes promises on the phone and then doesn’t add it to my notes nor tell his wife. The table has numerous dents and the wood must be very soft. It looks fantastic but there’s practical requirements other than mere aesthetics. The bookcase was bespoke and I ordered 6 shelves instead of 5. Only 5 shelves were delivered and 7 months later I am still waiting for that flipping shelf. 7 months that I’ve had books waiting to be shelved. Despite asking them to courier it to me two months ago.

Based on how much I like the look of the bookcase in my lounge with matching coffee table I bought a bookcase cabinet to match the exact dimensions of the original bookcase 6 months ago. Phil’s wife left some bespoke details off the order and so the cabinet was made incorrectly and the day before scheduled delivery she rang to tell me a mistake had been made by her and I could have £50 off if I accepted it as it was. I would merely have to fill in holes, sand down and re varnish. Oh that’s all-sounds easy enough! An apology wouldn’t have gone amiss.

Communication has been really awful and I have never been updated without calling first. They have never ever responded to my query emails and every single time I have ever called them is because I’m either chasing something or telling them about a mistake they have made. Apparently the bookcase is now to be couriered next week. At extra cost to them Phil had the cheek to tell me.

The reviews they get are really good but with me they’ve just taken the p—- from almost the beginning. I’ve got brain damage and can’t talk easily. I suppose they think I sound too stupid to bother with.

I've made an order for several pieces in Dec 2024 got it in appropriate time and another in Feb 2025 that got delivered recently.
Everything looks amazing feels good to the touch and is put together properly. So far I haven't heard one creak from the bed.
Delivery guys on point and polite. Got everything placed where I asked and assembled everything quickly.
This was quite an expense for my budget so I was very worried but I have no regrets. I'm looking to get another piece and there's a good chance I'll consider getting the kitchen from them too.
It's a bonus to know it's a family run business.

I have been purchasing furniture from H&F in Chesterfield for a very long time - I can not fault the staff, the service or their products. It's all hand made, solid wood and looks fantastic!
The delivery team are outstanding, they don't just deliver to the door they deliver to the room of choice and assemble the items too (where required).

I’ve bought numerous items of furniture from H&F. A fab, small, family run business. I can’t fault the service from start to finish. The delivery team were great too. Highly recommend if you’re after solid wood, handmade furniture that’s a bit rustic 🤎

To avoid any confusion the review I’m writing about is H&F Auction based in Fordham. I purchased a loose diamond in their January 2025 auctions; initially I was told it was to be collected when I phoned up to organise collection. I was told it was being sent out a month down the line it’s still not being sent. I feel I’m being blagged. I’ve not received the item they chase the money within three days of the auction yet delivery seems non-existent very disappointed Potential Scam

This company it's a big scam guys, please avoid this company auction because of the hidden fees.

How much are the admin fees on the auction?

Never deal with this company again stay away got stung big time. Pack of lies on the advert and buyers premium is ridiculous.

I recently bought indigo plank bed which was a super king. The bed took a while to arrive, longer than expected, however it is absolutely fantastic. It looks amazing, and it’s extremely well built and is a great centrepiece to my bedroom. They say that’s good things come to those who wait, in this case this is certainly what happened. I am delighted with my strong sturdy and good looking bed. I have had a great sleep every night since the bed arrived.

Can't rate H&F highly enough, have made two separate purchases over the past couple of years for various items of furniture including their signature bed frames.

Quality is excellent, as is the customer service from order right through to delivery. Overall excellent company to deal with, a rare find.

Recently took delivery of our plank dining table & leather chairs plus our king-size plank bed. Both are the absolute centrepieces of their respective rooms. Really glad we went with the low footboard option on the bed as it seems to open up the room so much better. Very happy with our choices and to have the opportunity of buying from a local independent business

We have just completed our final room in our home with a set of bunk beds from H&F and they are fantastic. The build quality is great and they look so good. Ordering & delivery was easy and I love that the team deliver and build the item in the room required. We have three beds all with under bed drawers, kitchen table and bench and nest of tables all from H&F and all of the items have been excellent.

A massive thank you to the team at H and F. Our new furniture was delivered today and we couldn’t be happier. The gents that delivered the pieces made sure everything was perfect before leaving, and the care and attention they showed was exemplary. The bespoke island was exactly what we’d hoped for and looks perfect in our kitchen.
