Disappointed with the service,
Communication was not the best and attention to detail also disappointing.
Even though we finally got the completion done it had taken far too long and could have been sorted way earlier! with even us the client pointing out issues very early on certain sections they just had a very stubborn attitude and later on realising what I had said was going to be an issue. With obviously no apology!
I think the biggest issue was that they appointed a trainee to over see our case, which obviously proved to be a bigger job than he had done before and created a lot of frustration in the way he went about his work.

All in all I'm afraid we had a bad experience but I do hope in the future they will learn from this and improve so other people don't have the same experience we did.

I was extremely pleased with the service I received from Harvey Baker when they handled the conveyancing for the sale of my house.

They were professional, competent and proactive throughout the process. I was kept updated on progress on a weekly basis through their online portal, which gave me confidence that everything was being dealt with and that the sale was moving forward as expected. They were also very responsive and I never felt that I had to chase them for updates.

Great Experience, great communication and useful app

They’ve been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Upmost professionalism and always answer any questions I had very promptly.

Simple Sale and purchase. Both collapsed after 5 months. I was quoted quite a bit more than others but thought I would get better service (I didn’t). About a third of house transactions fall through and when it does you are billed proportionately significantly more than other companies despite no positive outcome. Harvey Baker have no concern whether your conveyancing collapses because they win every time whether your sale goes through or not. My appointed paralegal (not solicitor) appeared not to care about my concerns, seemed blasé and was not pro-active in any way. You get a bold red messages on the app which state “while enquiries are ongoing we will not share them with you” and “DO NOT ask us to share these enquiries”. So information is not forthcoming sometimes for weeks. They use second class stamps for posting contracts and TR1 for signatures and that pretty much summarises the pace although lightening speed to bill you on collapse (same day invoice) I’m from an era where you could buy a house in 4-6 weeks with a Solicitor. It now takes several months and you don’t get a solicitor for the most part. I’m not a big advocate for Artificial Intelligence but if it makes Conveyancy cheaper and faster bring it on. I personally would not use them again or recommend their services. Save your money they are only as slow as the archaic system and the other party’s solicitor.
EDIT 25th July. Harvey Baker submitted to have my review removed but trustpilot upheld it. Their response below followed Trustpilots decision. Perhaps instead of trying try sweep negative reviews under the mat focus on what you could do better to offer value for money for the customer who pays your bills and salaries.

Great house-buying experience with Tom and I love the app! It makes everything clear and efficient and also chases you regularly on the actions you’ve not done, which works well for me, and you can easily track the progress of your purchase. The app reduces the need for direct communications and this does mean the service feels a bit less personal/friendly at times but that’s simply unavoidable. When I did speak to or email anyone from the team they were always pleasant and professional, it’s just not really necessary much of the time! It’s a very slick way of doing things which means there is no time-wasting… always much appreciated when you’re trying to buy a property.
