Beware of Hampson Auctions
Be aware of hampson auctions
They are con men and just lying there way to ripping you off.
My experience with them, I listed my BMW 735 SE on ebay and Hampson auctions rang me up a guy called Taylor on 07577111848 and he offered me to enter my car in a free auction, no fees and assured me he would get me at least £7000 I had it on ebay £7200. He promised me if it doesn’t sell this week in an online auction he has a auction at a castle in 2 weeks and will sell there as he has many customers wanting my car type. I dropped my car to them and in a few days I saw it on auction with no reserve! I rang Taylor to say do not sell it for no reserve but he would not answer or text me back. I also rang their landline which had no answer.
My car sold for £3200 and there was nothing I could do stop them. I then got a text back saying his manager Louie would call me and he never did! His manager Louie I eventually got hold of him and he said do you have anything in writing about my complaint and I did texts Whatsapp and he just gave me the run around he also said I’d get payed the following week. 5 weeks went by and after texting and emailing calling about my money, they rang me to ask for my bank details and assured me I’d have payment that week. Another 2 weeks went by and a woman Nicky rang me saying she had emailed me 2 weeks ago for my bank details (which she never did) and she would pay me next week I said to her I want my money now and she said she had no internet till next Monday to pay me (never heard of that excuse in this day and age). I really thought I wasn’t going to get paid. They had there castle auction on Sunday and I got paid on the Monday (robbing peter to pay paul) 7 weeks late and I got paid half the amount they said they’d pay me.
Ive never had an experince like it, its completely criminal.
Do not trust them and Zack Hamilton the owner was nowhere to contact throughout the whole process.
Very Poor Service and Misleading
Zach & Louis do not give you accurate information, adds hidden charges and fails to give you full costs, full and documentation in relation to the sale.
As car didn't sell at auction refused to give us the keys to allow us to take our car home and then charged £175 and add VAT to take it back to storage so we could collect car from storage.
Lost V5 and one set of keys, promised would send in post recorded delivery as documented in WhatsApp messages but never sent and still trying to recover funds to pay for their negligence in this respect.
Would strongly recommend NOT selling or buying any car or vehicle from Hampson Auctions .

These guys have lots of fake bot accounts on their insta to pretend to customers they have a large following and their car will sell easy at their actions. In reality they will pressure you to sell with no reserve to secure their fee of 600 quid, guaranteed. Some Sales may not even be genuine but actually car acquisitions at a discount for them.
Misinformation and unprofessional attitude
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience with Hampson Auctions has been disappointing due to poor communication and inconsistent information.
I was initially told there would be no fees for the sale of my vehicle (Buick – American classic), which I have in writing. However, after the sale, a fee was deducted which I was not expecting. I was later informed this would be refunded, but this has not yet been received.
I also had to chase multiple times for updates and did not receive a clear breakdown of the sale despite requesting it.
I raised the issue and was advised it would be resolved, but this has not yet been completed.
Overall, the process lacked transparency and clear communication. I hope this can be resolved by processing the outstanding amount, and I would be happy to update my review once resolved. Many thanks

After reading the reviews I was lucky I waited 3mnths to receive my deposit back,I was lied to many times, after threatening them with legal action they finally paid up,I have never sued anyone before and didn't realise the court required the forms in duplicate,so they returned them,I would have preferred to see them in court,I think they are running a ponzi scheme,I only got paid when new suckers pay them a deposit can't see them being in business for much longer, other auction houses have described them as a bunch of cowboysn
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
After calling me from my Autotrader ad to convince me enter my car into their auction (with a £300 cataloguing fee), they then called me 2 days before the auction to take it out as they'd sold it (though they'd never listed it).
Week after week, no money came my way despite constant chasing and false assurances. Over a month after the auction, they then decided that the "buyer" no longer wanted it and I needed to come and collect it!
Absolute joke. They are a bunch of amateurs masquerading as a big company.
DO NOT ENTER YOUR CAR INTO A HAMPSONS AUCTION!
It’s all about finding a company that you can trust.
There are other companies that do the same thing that you can trust and won’t fill you full of lies like this one.
Great selling experience
After attending the Nov auction, I decided to sell a car at their most recent auction at Bolesworth Castle and couldn’t be happier with the experience. All staff were friendly and I was kept up to date throughout. Everything was explained and I was given all the documents to read and sign which clearly stated all the information about the process. I attended the auction on the day and it was very well run and staff were friendly and on hand to answer any queries anyone had. I would definitely use them again to either buy or sell a car in the future.
Zac and all staff are amazing
Zac and all staff are amazing the 458 Ferrari he had when I viewed a lovely Evo tme was amazing.
It’s a shame all the bad reviews he would be better off sticking to supercars and classics.
Dealing with customers that are worried about paying there shopping bills and there negative disappointing opinions. Why bother with the lower end stuff trying to help people with no reserves etc.
To be bitten by them after shame.
Keep up the good work hampsons.
SHODDY SERVICE. IGNORED
I bid on a car and “won it”.
I received no communication at all.
I had to chase them up to see if it even won the car.
Absolutely dreadful service.
If you bid they take ages to get back to you.
Very slow and inefficient team
Zak Hamilton needs to take some leadership lessons and train his team in getting back to customers.
This is a seriously poorly run business.
Fraud
We listed our Jeep Wrangler for sale on Auto Trader for £53,000.
One of the employees from the auction company contacted my husband after obtaining his phone number and contact details from the Auto Trader listing. A person named Louise called my husband and assured him that they could sell our Jeep for the same price, or possibly even more, through their auction without any hassle.
Based on this assurance, my husband agreed and dropped the Jeep at their premises. After that, Louise sent my husband an entry form to sign. She repeatedly called and texted him, asking him to sign it quickly and did not give him enough time to properly read or understand the document.
Yesterday, the auction took place. However, the starting price was set at £25,000, which is far below the value of our vehicle. The highest bid reached only £29,500, which is completely unacceptable to us and far below the price we agreed to sell the vehicle for.
Now when we contact them, they are saying that the vehicle has already been sold, even though we never agreed to sell it for such a low amount.
We believe we have been misled and possibly subjected to fraud or misrepresentation. We request an urgent investigation into this matter and clarification regarding how the vehicle was sold without our consent at such a low price.
stay away!! Complete scam
stay away!!! They will scam you out of money at any chance they get. Don’t trust them with anything.
Scammers !

Avoid like the plague.
Dishonest.
Ignored phone calls and emails.
They sell your car with no reserve price but tell you different 😡
AVOID !!!!!
Avoid like the plague!
Avoid like the plague!! Scammers!! Sold my husbands Audi R8 that was up for sale for £87,000 at auction for £63,000! After the finance is paid my husband will receive £500, where as he should have been getting a guaranteed £87,000 for the car and circa £25,000 once finance was paid! This money was to go towards his business which is struggling, and now we’re even worse off! My husband has lost his dream car and savings that were tied up in the car! Louie Bostock is a scammer! Ignored all my husbands emails and messages regarding the starting bid of £87,000! He knew full well what he was doing! Scammers! I don’t know how you sleep at night!! Ripping good, hard working people off!
Hi,I listed my car on Autotrader for…
Hi,I listed my car on Autotrader for £53,000 and was contacted by Hampson Auctions to sell it at auction.
During our phone conversation, I clearly stated that I would not sell below a certain price. I was reassured the auction would achieve a suitable value.
I was sent the form via WhatsApp and email, and the company staff wrote that it was “just an entry form.” Based on this explanation, I signed the form via email.
However, the auction started at £25,000 and the car sold for £29,500—far below the price I had discussed.
I have not transferred the V5C logbook, the buyer has not paid, and I am actively trying to resolve this with the company.
I have screenshot showing that I was informed it was just the entry form.
I am sharing my experience so that other sellers carefully review all terms and communications before signing anything. I hope this matter is resolved fairly.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

DO NOT USE!!
DO NOT USE!!! As untrustworthy as they can legally get away with. Started of by approaching me from my auto trader add then promising me they can sell my car with a reserve and without any fees and if I would like to go forward with it I needed to pay £250 straight away. Pleased with the idea I thought I would go ahead with it and so he sent me an invoice for £250 + VAT which was the first lie as the invoice was £300 but still I thought this was a good deal so went ahead and sent him the money. This is when it started to really go down hill as I then received a contract and was told to quickly sign that so we can get on to the listing as soon as possible. Luckily I scanned through this contract to see the real hampsons which had many seller fees and also in clear print at the bottom no reserve which obviously is 2 of the main things when auctioning a car and since then doing my own research finding so many poor customers who have fell ill to this scam and told they were never promised it in the first place and their beloved cars going for way below their initial reserve and nothing they could do about it. They are very clever in their unprofessional tactics as anything they don’t want to have in writing they “quickly call you just to explain” on an unrecorded mobile. To top all this off I requested a refund of my £300 as soon as I realised the contract was false promises and that’s when the replies started to go from instant to nothing, lucky having parents that deal with law I had them email hampsons threatening to take action if not paid within the legal 14 day term and even then they still pushed their luck and took 21 days to finally send it. Please please please do your research on this horrible company and don’t be fooled by its ratings as many other sites have far worse ratings. Hampsons auctions needs closing down or investigation further.

Avoid
Avoid! Had my car on Autotrader when I got a call by them to include in the auction, worst decision ever made. should have trusted my gut, the guys would actively avoid my calls. Ultimately the car sold for less than 25% of its worth. Taylor and Louie both were just young, clueless and very unhelpful bordering on rude. They even refused to allow a reserve on my car, They reassured me it is likely to get the price it was on sale for, I regret using them and even if I take the L of the money, their interactions with clients is terrible.
