I Do Not Recommend This Clinic
I Do Not Recommend This Clinic: Hygiene Concerns, Lack of Transparency, and Disrespectful Treatment of Patients.
My experience with Dr. Stephanie Senn and the head of GYN-Zentrum, Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Günthert, was extremely distressing and disappointing.
I was surprised the doctor Senn had not reviewed my medical history in the clinic’s database beforehand, even though I had visited the same clinic a year earlier for the SAME ISSUE, which another doctor had successfully resolved.
I was not asked at all about anamnesis (exact questions about my health now and in the past). The communication was very weak, unclear and at times rather cold on the doctor’s part.
I had serious concerns about the diagnosis, the tests ordered, and the bills I received. Tests were performed despite the absence of symptoms and without sufficient justification from the doctor's side. In a few weeks the results surely were negative.
During the appointment I noticed dried traces of biological discharge from a previous patient on the disposable cover of the gynecological examination chair. Despite this, I was asked to lie on it. Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Günthert later acknowledged in writing that the condition I described did not meet the clinic’s standards. However, I never received an apology.
Another major concern was the taking of an intimate photograph during the examination. Dr. Stephanie Senn asked for permission to photograph the area being examined. However, I was not adequately informed about the purpose of the photograph, how long it would be stored, or who would have access to it. I later learned that the clinic intended to retain the image in my medical records, including for use in the event of a potential legal dispute. When I subsequently requested that the photograph be deleted, my request was refused.
I submitted my concerns in detail in writing, expecting specific answers and constructive dialogue. Instead, Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Günthert stated that the medical care had been appropriate, declined to apologize, and recommended that I seek care at another practice.
He also stated that providing further answers to my questions could be considered a paid medical consultation.
What I find particularly unacceptable is that, instead of receiving transparent explanations regarding the diagnosis, billing, hygiene, and storage of an intimate photograph, I was left feeling that my concerns had not been adequately addressed.
I was a patient of this clinic since 2 years, and I have completely lost my trust in this practice and, based on my personal experience, cannot recommend GYN-Zentrum to other patients.
