In May 2025, I paid The Gutter Guys to replace all of the guttering on my property. Unfortunately, I have since experienced ongoing water ingress into a bedroom and have had to instruct a roofing contractor to investigate the cause.

The roofer identified a number of serious defects with the gutter installation. The guttering had been installed with no fall whatsoever, meaning water could not flow correctly towards the outlets. The brackets were fitted at inconsistent heights along the entire run, causing water to pool and sit in the gutter rather than drain away as intended. In addition, a union joint had not been clipped together correctly underneath, which allowed water to escape over a prolonged period.

As a result, water has been penetrating the structure over time and has caused severe rot to the fascia and timber behind the guttering, to the point where parts of it have effectively disintegrated.

EDIT - Callum has since been out and had a look at this for me and it's only fair I update the review. I went up and took some videos and pictures and it turns out the gutters were blocked with cement from previous roofing jobs we'd had done (we can't pin point the exact roofer) and bits had been snapped off where somebody may have stood on them. He has repaired the gutter for me and explained everything to me and given me some useful advice. So, to summarise, I am happy with the after service provided and nice to have confidence that if anything else goes wrong that they will come out and fix it ASAP.

The execution of the replacement of the gutters and soffits undertaken in February appeared to go well. They look good, and the leeks have disappeared.

However, the disappointment is that a rooflight on the extension was accidentally smashed, and after four months, the unit remains unfixed under a tarpaulin. The company is just not interested in fixing it, leaving it to the employee who caused the damage to repair it at his own cost. He is consistently lacking the resources to make good, so I am left with a broken house.

The company has absolved itself of any responsibility.

It would appear that the company carries no insurance to cover the costs of such accidents; has an unhealthy insistence on being paid in cash; they repeatedly attempted to upsell for a new roof; they are not VAT registered, and did not issue a guarantee.

I trusted the reviews and the visible work executed in my area. The experience, however, has shown the company to be devoid of responsibility, care and service.

Thank you to the gutter guys. Calum, John and Dave worked really hard and done an excellent job doing my gutters, fascias and sofits. Would definitely recommend these guys. And thank you to Caitlin for booking us in.
