Had a great experience in all 3 cities, there was a good amount of free time to explore sites in more detail, but plenty of great tours and excursions planned. We stayed an extra day in DC to visit some places on our own and the company was great arranging that extra night with the hotel. All 3 hotels were perfectly located for walkability to nearby points of interest and the on-site restaurants at 2 were top notch. Highly recommend!

Great experience! Well worth panned itinerary and good hotels. Guides for sight seeing trips were great. Traveling between cities via Antrack Alcera train was wonderful. The tour manager Bill Plenefisch was fantastic!!!!! Highly recommend Great Rail Adventures for a well planned, fully guided vacation!!
A nicely timed trip exploring the birth of our nation. Vised a lot of the historical sites in Boston. Philly and DC at a doable pace and free time to see on our own sites that were of interest
Even though we have access to Google, it would have been nice to have been given a list of places to see in our spare time. It would have been easier. Bill tried to throw out suggestions. Hotel in DC was a ways away from eateries. At least there was one in the hotel if you like Irish. Red Caps were necessary at every stop on or off the trains, but not always available. Not fun getting yelled at by conductor! At least we didn't have to wear lanyards.
