One of the worst platforms for online courses - keep AWAY! I signed up for the NUS UX Design course in Sep 2023. The course was horrible - with poor quality lectures, no substance whatsoever and no content on Figma, yet 70% of the coursework was on Figma. Getsmarter also managed to mess up the assignment submission dates. Anyway, I did it and passed. Course ended on Nov 2023. No certificates have been provided till date, today is 1 Feb 2024. TWO MONTHS and no certificates yet. I chased them in early January, they said final results (what final results!? It was a pass/fail course, no grades) were released on 12 Jan and I will have my certificate one week after that. Nothing. I chased again, they said final results will be released on 24 Jan, and certificate one week after that. Nothing. Today they said final results released 31 Jan, certificates one week after that. Same thing every week. I paid $900 for this! NUS are a terrible University with rubbish lecturers and Getsmarter are crooks. Disgrace for Edx and 2U. I am glad they are going bankrupt. Corrupt criminals.

In line with the rest of the reviews on this page, I have had countless issues with GetSmarter. It’s been 3 months since I completed my course and still no certificate. I contact them and get a shoddy excuse (“an error with the system” or “the time of year”). I’ve called to complain and they takes weeks to respond - when they do respond, more empty apologies and no real information.

It’s a shame because the course content itself provided by the University was fantastic. I’ll be contacting them and advising that they change providers.

My advice would be to avoid any course provided by GetSmarter.

I enrolled in the GetSmarter Oxford University's sustainability course with high expectations, hoping for cutting-edge knowledge from a reputed institution. Sadly, outdated and occasionally incorrect content in the course content led to my decision to cancel. Despite GetSmarter's assurance of a full refund for the course fee, I have not yet receive any money. Regrettably, rather than addressing the issue, GetSmarter has severed all communication, leaving my emails and calls unanswered. This lack of responsiveness is deeply concerning and has added to the frustration of the overall experience. Disappointed and seeking resolution.

GetSmarter advertises that you will be engaged with industry leaders as you progress through the course contents. They employ fake AI generated student profiles in lieu of actual human students.

I find it totally unacceptable, that GetSmarter does not show any fees that will have to be paid for any course in advance. I simply could not fine any info. One has to REGISTER first, which I won't do, if I don't even know, much a course will cost me.

The Harvard Course offering was ok I had to postpone my original time frame due to urgent family reasons, when I did start the course I was only able to complete module 1 out of 9 and sadly do to both family emergency reasons as well as my own urgent health reason that suddenly came up which required surgery they refused to refund my money and to make matters worse I opted for the installment plan and they are trying to forcibly collect the last payment although I already withdrew from the course and lost or lets just say now scammed out of my first payment of $1700. The original draw to this course was Harvard's elite convenors but they only did maybe a few vidoes which could of been viewed on Youtube and your only interaction with the Tutors, Cohorts were via online forums so interaction was very poor. The only people that you actually can speak to on the phone are the registration call centre ones and the Success Advisor team was not very helpful nor understanding of my situation all they want is your $$$$$$ and will chase you for it even if you were to die.

My experience with the customer service has been deeply disappointing. Despite receiving a low grade, I found no avenue for obtaining an explanation or understanding the reasons behind it. The support system seems inefficient and incapable of resolving such issues. I am compelled to advise others against opting for the Oxford/Getsmarter courses, as it, regrettably, verges on being fraudulent.

I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I don't want anyone else to waste their money. The course itself was meh, I could've easily learned everything from a book but I wanted a certificate to show employers my legitimacy. I still had to teach myself things that the course didn't address. I finished the course in April and was told after a couple of weeks that we would be sent our certificates on June 13th, which seemed like a long time, but I was willing to wait. After a full month of waiting, I still hadn't received anything, so I contacted them again. They told me that they had not yet sent out the certificates-and blamed the pandemic (it's 2023) for the wait-and that it won't be here until September now!!!! I NEVER would have taken this course if I'd known it would take nearly 6 months after finishing to get my certificate. This is a scam. Don't believe any websites that tell you this website is legit.

MIT, OXFORD AND OTHER BIG COLLEGES who are selling their future design courses like ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, BLOCKCHAIN and FINANCE OR BUSINESS related courses are MYTH. GUYS, I am requesting you to please DON'T invest your valuable money in these courses. THE REASONS ARE ALOT. LET ME EXPLAIN YOU POINT BY POINT:
1. THEY SELLING THE NAME OF THEIR UNIVERSITIES WHICH ARE NOT WORTH NOW.
2. THEIR MOST EXPENSIVE COURSES ARE LIKE FREE COURSES ON OTHER WEBSITES WHICH PROVIDE YOU ONLINE COURSES.
3. AFTER RECEIVING MONEY THEY WILL NOT RESPOND YOU. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY. THEY EVEN DON'T CARE WHAT IMPORTANCE OR HOW YOU MANAGE THE MONEY AS A STUDENT.
4. THIS IS THEIR OFFICIAL WEBSITE TO SELL THESE USELESS COURSES.
5. THESE COUNTRIES ARE LIKE SAVING THEMSELVES FROM RECESSION BY USING THESE UNIVERSITIES NAMES.
6. THEY ARE CHARGING RATESD WAY HIGH AND AFTER RECEIVING THE MONEY THE ACTUAL FRAUD SMART.
HOPING ALL GUYS WHO ARE READING THIS "PLEASE CAREFUL". THINK ONCE "IS THEY WORTH TO DO AT THESE PRICE AND THIS WORLD WHERE YOUR HARD WORKS AND SKILLS MATTERS THESE SHORT COURSES IN WICH THEY ONLY INTRODUCE YOU REGARDS TO THE TOPIC AT "WAY HIGH RATE" SERIOUSLY WORTH IT.

I AM STUDYING IN ABROAD SO I APPLIED FOR AN COURSE FROM OXFORD. AND LITERALLY, I PAID ALMOST 3000 EURO FOR THE COURSE. AS I RESULT I DIDN,T GET ANYTHING AS YOU KNOW HOW MUCH DIFFICULT FOR A STUDENT TO SPEND HIS OR HER SAVING IN COURSES AND GET FRAUD IN RETURN. Oxford University content was really good, I enjoyed it. Just avoid anything run by GetSmarter. The support is absolutely terrible, they make up dates and excuses when your certificates don’t arrive on time, or ever. I’ll never use them again and I’ll make sure others in my company are aware too. Shocking.

I agree with all the comments. I can't believe these top universities continue to put their names against these courses. Support is non-existent, getting someone on the phone is impossible and you have to chase to get anything done continually. I would give zero stars if it were possible.

I absolutely won't be using them again and contemplating legal action.

I have signed up for a course in this platform a few months ago. Issues started right at the beginning - I was not sent any information once the course started.
I contacted their support, and they have assured me that I would be sent this information that exact day via email, but I didn't receive anything.
I contacted support a few more times, each time they assured that I would be contacted via email. Once I asked for a refund, they didn't even let me know where should I reach out for it.
The situation was sorted out, and I was given a refund after long discussions with support.
Their payment support team is really unresponsive as well, I did not manage to get a proper refund credit note with correct information for a few weeks. They kept replying with new versions, but still missing the crucial information, even though I clearly stated what I needed a few times. To this day I have not received the correct credit note - my last email to them has received no reply for 2 weeks now.
Overall, very bad experience, I would not recommend this for anyone, especially considering their prices.

I can't believe Oxford university has aligned with them. The course run by Oxford was amazing but in the 7 months since, I have had to repeatedly try to get my certificate sent, they have sent it 4 times to the wrong address, once they sent it to the right address but had printed it upside down the Oxford logo was upside down. Horrific customer service, still no resolution. absolutely ruined the course and I would now not recommend.

WORTHLESS. The course goes wide but not deep anywhere. There's no interactivity; it's not easy to get support; I appear to be the only idiot that signed up for the class. I got ripped off for $1,900. Okay, maybe only $1,800, the lean canvas info was useful.

Given the price, I could not recommend this educational platform. The course content was good but course navigation, feedback and instructions were not up to standards. Confusing instructions and minimal feedback.

I signed up for an online course during the pandemic, thinking that it would be possible for me to get it done. Well, I was wrong. Learning and working in the same space all day long was more taxing than I thought, so I couldn't get it done. A couple of days later I requested to do the course on a later date, but they could not do that because the terms stated that it's not possible. Well, how thoughtful of the company, it's always nice to have educational institutions who care for their students.

I do NOT recommend taking a course at this company.

I am unclear how this South African based education technology company has contracts with some of the best universities in the world to offer online educational programs. Their customer service is appalling. One has to go through multiple menu items to get to the right department and then remain on hold for ages, sometimes disconnected. They use cheap phone lines so the connection to the South African operators is poor at best. They know nothing about the courses and are generally ill equipped to offer any kind of service or support. They are just a booking agent with very poor infrastructure. I would not recommend dealing with them and am very surprised such prestigious universities work with them.
