Outstanding customer service – solved a problem no one else could
I had an exceptionally positive experience with GetPlumb and felt compelled to leave a review because the level of service was genuinely outstanding.
I had an LG washer dryer delivered, but ran into a frustrating issue with the waste pipe connection – the spigot on the washing machine hose didn’t fit my existing trap. I initially thought it was a McAlpine trap, and after visiting five different local plumbing shops, none of them could properly identify the issue or offer a workable solution.
GetPlumb took the time to talk me through the problem, suggested possible reducers, and then asked me to send photos via WhatsApp of the existing trap, the hose, and the parts I was trying to fit. After reviewing the photos, they correctly identified that my existing trap wasn’t McAlpine at all but a European (Euro) trap. They then explained clearly that the simplest and best solution would be to replace the trap with a McAlpine silent dual spigot trap (which is a great quality brand) and use the appropriate adapter for the Euro washing machine hose that’s already fitted.
They also helped source all the parts I needed. One small item (Jubilee clips) wasn’t available online, but they handled this brilliantly – I placed my web order, they added the missing item manually, and I paid for it via a secure link. Throughout the whole process, they were in touch via phone and WhatsApp, explaining everything clearly and patiently.
I’m based far away and they’re in Reading, but the distance didn’t matter at all – everything was handled smoothly and efficiently without me needing to travel. The advice was spot-on and the solution they provided is a simple, clean fix.
This is genuinely the most helpful plumbing merchant experience I’ve ever had. Friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and problem-solving focused. Highly recommended – especially if you’re stuck with an awkward plumbing issue that no one else seems able to solve.
