In order to avoid having to pay claim; they rule it as pre-Existing. Trusting pet insurance is like gambling in casinos where the house always wins.

Response time is terrible.
Customer service is terrible.
All claims werer denied, none were at Manypets.
Currently waiting on multiple claims on one of our dogs since November for his seizure medication so frustrating coming from many pets who we had an amazing experience with. Right before they forced us over to this joke of a company; we had a $11,000 surgery on both of our other dogs knees, thank god that went on many pets, we don’t know what we would’ve done if it was on odie. Frustrated with pre existing health issues that we are stuck with odie being only option
Worst insurance company and stay away! Not able to process any of the claims even I provided the dog's medical history and birth records. Still telling me there is missing documents. I think they're trying to scam you. Stay away
I have never written this in a review before, but I wish I could give 0 stars. If you have a pet, do not use Odie. I was one of the ManyPets members who rolled over to Odie when they were bought out. It took 41 days for them to resolve an issue I had with submitting a claim. They needed my dogs medical records to process (records they should have already when they bought ManyPets) and when I couldn't upload them on the site and I reached out, it took 41 days to address fully and then process my claim. They also denied another claim due to it being a pre-existing condition. This was something my dog was being treated for when the rollover happened. They said that conditions that dogs were being treated for prior to the buyout would be covered. This is dishonest business practices. The customer service delays and responses are terrible and their customer portal is hard to use. Do not use this company.
We were switched over from many pets. Claims can take 3-5 month.
Out renewal they raised me by $42 a month that's insane! My monthly bill was 40 and now they raised me to $82.
Next year they will probably raise me to $400
I was a previous ManyPets customer. They were phenomenal but when Odie took over the policies for both of my pets, they increased premiums by an astronomical number. Unfortunately, for conditions to be covered that arose during my ManyPets policy, there was no choice but to continue forward with them.
They originally said it would take 5-10 business days to process a claim. On average, it took two months and that was only because I kept following up with customer service and they would put a ticket in to “expedite” claim processing. And if you need to get hold of customer service, you can only do so through email as they don’t pick up the phone. Half the time I would have to send the email numerous times for customer service to get back to me at all. The average response time is 2 weeks which is awful if you actually need something handled properly. Also, I barely had any claims that they had to pay and each year I was with them, my rate increased about 25%. It is crazy unaffordable. They also don’t cover the same things that were covered on the ManyPets policy, even though the statements made in their emails said coverage would continue uninterrupted and would cover the same things.
If they had better coverage and better customer service, I’d have less of a problem paying their expensive premiums. However, I can’t say one good thing about Odie Pet Insurance. Do NOT choose this company. It will be more of a headache than relief if something were to go wrong with your pet.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!
Had this insurance for about a year and a half. Filed the first claim after dog was injured. They took literally 4 months to respond to the claim after repeated calls and emails. Then when they processed the claim, it was severely underpaid. Maybe they have an AI bot reviewing claims, or a very incompetent human. Cancelling at the first possible opportunity. Just worst experience I’ve ever had in my life with a company.
got shafted by manypets to this insurance provider.
if cust svc is an important criteria do explore all others before locking to this
updated:
i was able to get it resolved as they required all records over the years and finally did approve it
I am also a policy holder previously of Many Pets who was transferred by Many Pets to Odie.
I am grateful my experience has not been as bad as a lot of the other posters. Claim time is ridiculous. 3 months or longer easy for claims to process. Filed over 25 claims in that time with minimum issues besides the insane processing time. Very difficult to reach someone. Only had my policy with Odie for about 9 months before my fur baby passed away, but I suspect my opinion likely would have gotten worse over time.
I personally did not experience denials and all my pets pre existing conditions were covered as stated by Odie. I believe many pets deserves equal ratings as Odie for selling out their policies putting people in this position and would not recommend either
This is the worst Company ever! Do not, repeat DO NOT get pet insurance thru them. They took over Many Pets. And its been awful service. claim denials. 4 months before I even got a response. my dog was rescued off the street. I have no previous records. so denied. this company is really a scam.
Odie took 62 days to review a straightforward claim, with inconsistent communication and vague updates. When denied, the explanation didn’t cite specific policy language as required by Texas law. They labeled pancreatitis a “pre-existing condition” using unrelated medical history (GI upset due to a foreign body ingestion) and records outside the allowable review period. Due to the delay, lack of clarity, and misapplication of their policy, I canceled both of my policies. I hope this helps other pet owners make an informed decision (also note that they have an F on the Better Business Bureau).
They obviously buy emails and spam. I've not had a pet in over 10 years, and never an insured pet. My email is not something you mis-type and accidentally put in your list. They started emailing me about "Robert" ... scammers.
I previously had ManyPets, and they were AMAZING. Refunds were processed quickly, communication was clear, and customer service was responsive and reliable.
Since Odie Pet Insurance took over, the service has been HORRIBLE. Refunds now take months, and it is extremely difficult to get a response. Calls go unanswered, emails are ignored, and I have been waiting over two weeks just for a reply.
This has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing compared to the level of service ManyPets provided. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Odie Pet Insurance.
Dallaz has had pet insurance for his entire life through ManyPets. When ManyPets left the country for the UK, I was explicitly told there would be a “seamless transition” to Odie. After the transition, Odie collected my premiums for four consecutive months without providing any status update or decision on a claim for Dallaz’s regular monthly Cytopoint injections. These injections are not new or experimental—they are a routine allergy treatment that Dallaz has received four months per year, every year, throughout his insured life. After four months of silence, Odie ultimately denied the claim and informed me that they would never cover Dallaz’s allergy treatments. This directly contradicted the assurances I was given about a seamless transition and continuity of coverage. Due to this misleading information and unfair treatment, I discontinued my policy. Throughout this process, Odie failed to provide basic customer support: their phone lines were never answered, and they did not respond to numerous inquiries requesting updates or clarification. I feel I was misled, treated unfairly, and charged premiums without good faith handling of my claim. I am submitting this complaint to formally document my experience and request accountability for the way this transition and claim were handled.
Forced transfer from ManyPets.
2 months and counting for claim submissions, theyre never available to answer the phone. The state emails will be responded to in 4-5 days and its been over 2 weeks so far.
Zero stars if I could.
I loved my previous pet insurance, ManyPets. Odie took over and they are the worst. Honestly, and I'm not trying to be hyperbolic or funny, I don't even think they're an actual company. Rather, they buy up accounts from distressed pet insurance companies and never reimburse for anything.
I was very happy with my pet insurance when it was manypets. I got my claims back within a few days after submitting them and they were always helpful.
I’ve submitted 3 claims since Odie took over. All 3 took almost 2 months to process. They denied them all, claiming they were pre-existing conditions, even though they weren’t. My dog was seen for an ear infection and bloody stools through an emergency vet clinic. To appeal a claim Odie said you must have the vet write a letter stating they were seen for conditions that were not preexisting. The emergency vet wouldn’t write that note since my dog isn’t a regular client there and they don’t know his history.
I’m very frustrated to have gone from a company that was easy to get ahold of and quick turn around, to a company that’s denying everything and making it impossible to get claims reimbursed. I decided to cancel the insurance altogether. I’m not going to support a company that just wants to take your money and not actually help. My advice is NOT to go through Odie. There are many other great options out there for pet insurance but this isn’t one.
This company is terrible, awful, the worst. My dog was formerly with Many Pets, with which I was happy. Why they chose Odie as a replacement, I can't begin to understand. Odie is non-responsive to contacts and ridiculously slow to pay. The only matter they seem to have a handle on is billing! That is always done expediently! I can't wait until my pet's policy has ended. A complete waste of money with a side of agrevation.
We were forced to move from Many Pets to Odie, and it's been the absolute worst experience.
First, you submit your claim online. With each claim, they require you to upload your pet's medical history. Each. Single. Time.
Then, they send you follow-up emails requesting that you upload the medical history. Again. For every single claim.
When you respond to their "agent," you don't get a response from a real human being but just another passive-aggressive reminder that they have not received the information, even though you are forced to submit the medical history with the actual submission of the claim the first time.
Reaching out to their "customer service" email takes several days to receive an answer, and then, guess what: it's another canned response that doesn't address your question at all.
Literally horrible they are withdrawing alll of my claims and have denied them when I was a ManyPets customer previously and these things were covered
