Absolutely terrible. They wasted weeks of my time and now have to find different leagal representation. Refused to even connect with me via phone and refused to give me assistance on how to physically fill out thier unnecessary 266question questionnaire which was very user unfriendly. I actually thought at one point I was talking to AI and still have my suspicions. Cannot believe this company is able to practice law. I could go on but they have wasted far too much of my time already and the time I have wasted with them has negatively affected the legal matter I am dealing with. The time wasted entertaining this cowboy company has put me in a much worse position financially within the matter I am trying to solve. Absolutely disgraceful

Awful, do not recommend. Only interested In money. No communication skills at all. Feel like a criminal trying to talk to the others sides lawyers yet Andrea king is supposed to be on our side! Do not recommend at all unless you want more stress added to an already difficult time.

Genuine legal is currently being reviewed by the ethical board due to their negligence, false advertising, changing prices, and poor representation of clients.
They offer discounts to customers willing to give them a good review, encourage you to review early, and use an app that removes client permissions and access to communications so as to make proof of shady practices more difficult to keep track of.
Spend your money elsewhere, there are plenty of reputable lawyers who will not attempt to extort you and cause undue stress in an already stressful time of your life.
Additionally, they will claim you are not a client of theirs, or are just disgruntled when reviewed poorly- this is a clue in of itself as to shady business practices.

Their high staff turnover is a very clear sign of how they treat people, and a simple search of employees will show an overwhelming amount of negative experiences-SEEK shows employee ratings, his are abysmal!

Do not trust this firm.

I engaged Genuine Legal Family Lawyers for assistance with my family law property matter. While there were some positives, my overall experience left me disappointed, particularly with their approach to communication, cost management, and clarity.
1. Ambiguity in Costs and Agreements:
I initially signed a fixed-fee agreement for $7,200, which I believed covered all pre-action procedures, including mediation. However, I was later presented with a separate mediation cost agreement for $5,500 just two days before the scheduled mediation. The timing left me feeling pressured to sign under duress, as I didn’t want to risk further delays. This ambiguity in cost inclusions created significant stress and financial strain.
2. Lack of Transparency in Verbal and Written Communication:
When I inquired about mediation costs verbally, I was assured it would only incur expenses if a room was hired, as the mediation was to be conducted online. This assurance was contradicted by the subsequent written agreement, leaving me feeling misled.
3. Poor Case Management and Client Support:
Despite repeated requests for clarity on how fees were calculated and what would happen once the $7,200 was exhausted, I received vague responses and no clear resolution. The lack of consistent communication and transparency contributed to a breakdown in trust.
4. Abrupt Termination of Services:
The firm ceased acting for me, citing a lack of mutual trust, and insisted on payment of an outstanding balance before transferring my file. While they had the right to withdraw, this left me scrambling to self-represent without proper support during a critical phase of my case.
I cannot recommend Genuine Legal Family Lawyers based on my experience. While the firm presents itself as a transparent, fixed-fee practice, my experience was far from straightforward. Clients considering this firm should carefully review all agreements and seek independent advice before signing, especially if financial resources are limited or clarity is critical.

I am grateful to Genuine Legal team for assisting me with the most difficult situation of my life. Genuine Legal always provided quick and effective advice. I would recommend them with full confidence.

TL;DR - Do not use this law firm!

I have been involved in a dispute regarding choice of schools for my kids. My ex is high conflict with an aggressive lawyer. I engaged Genuine Legal because their fixed fees were 50% cheaper than all other quotes I received. This proved to be a big mistake. GL took months to produce an affidavit, missed the courts filing deadline by 4 weeks, produced a document that was too long, incorrectly structured and riddled with technical errors. Resulting in the court rejecting and disregarding the affidavit at the hearings.

Communicating via their app was terrible, you are often ignored for long periods of time or made to feel like you are a hassle when asking questions. My case was handed from lawyer to lawyer, resulting in having to explain the whole situation again and again. The vague legal advice I was given by the multiple lawyers that worked on my case turned out to be monumentally wrong.

GL’s performance in court was equally appalling, lawyer seemed out of their depth and inexperienced, they were annihilated by the opposition as a result. The lawyer was unable to explain what was happening effectively to me on the day (I don’t think they knew what was going on). I was also railroaded/pressured into signing orders by consent which my gut told me was the wrong thing to do.

After all this, I decided to seek a second opinion. It was at this point that I found out about the extent of GL’s incompetence handling my case. I switched law firms however It was too late, the damage was done.

As a direct result of all the procedural mistakes and monumentally wrong advice I was given, I have been ordered to pay my Ex’s court costs. An occurrence so rare in family law that I’m told it almost never happens.

Genuine Legal truly proves the old saying ‘If something seems too good to be true, it usually is’.

Jason and the team have been amazing with the support and time they have given us. Despite being in another state to me I can't fault their service and support. Where ever needed I will happily choose them to represent our family.

I had contract with Geniune legal regarding my matter, they are not give you proper advice. They are not personalised about your matter. Solicitors keep changing again and again and you need to keep explaining about your matter.
They get a deposit and waste your time untill your matter is not that much urgent and you live months in stress and they do nothing until one year is finished and they send you a new contract with higher rate for that contract that you already paid deposit. And they share you while they did nothing for that contract.
Not happy with their service at all. In the court the young Solicitor even couldn't explain to the judge what is your situation.

I was extremely happy with the service I received from genuine legal. I had originally started my affairs with another firm who had charged me unreasonable amounts of money for the very little work they did. I felt that GL actually cared about my situation and there fees were reasonable.
I would recommend GL to all friends and family.

This lawyer company in Perth was a total waste of time and money.
As others have said in their review, with the fixed price thing it is too good to be true. In my case they did absolutely nothing except try to put all of my assets at a higher price to give the ex even more of my earnings, how is that helping me??
After weeks of them stuffing around, not achieving anything and basically doing nothing, I ended up sacking them, to which they charged me half of the fixed price amount!
I said it was a fixed price contract and you didn't perform that contract, so either take it all or give me back 100% to which they did... take all of it and then charge me even more to finalize the account!
This company is a huge joke, you may spend more somewhere else but you'll definitely come out in front going somewhere else.

When something looks too good to be true, especially a law firm offering ANYTHING for free, then no prizes for guessing that when I applied for Genuine Legal's free one-hour appointment and ironically, an hour after it was confirmed got the call telling me that they don't actually handle 'your type of matter'..." really, but it says you do on your website that advertises how wonderful you are and how you care about me"...but it seems, the care only applies to matters of the how much money is it worth to them kind.

I was advised (free of charge I might add) to contact legal aid and perhaps they might help me with my little matter...and if this is how they operate then rejection is a blessing in disguise, after all, who would want a firm who advertises one thing (a one-hour free phone or video appointment), then picks and chooses WHO they will give that hour too based on the amount they deem us, the proposed clients, might be worth to them for their no doubt overpriced and over touted legal representation? Not me and they made sure of that...I see they don't respond to negative reviews...no surprises there, arrogance is second nature to greed.

At best I’m not happy with family law and the people associated with the broken family law system, I’ve had various lawyers over the past 4 years, from my experience the past lawyers from different firms would only be checking there watches and billing you for every minute and making you pay in advance a stupid amount of money before even starting, also charging you for every email you inform them to make your matter more clear, when I agreed for Genuine Legal to represent me, they where by far more focused on getting the outcome for the client in a quick manner, , Genuine legals expertise was far more superior than what I seen before, I wish I reallly had knew of them when I started this miserable broken family law as I would of hired them from the start. I’m sure if I had of had them from the start, my situation would be far better off than what it is now. I strongly recommend them, the app they use to communicate with you is awesome and great idea, however a tutorial on how to use app would be a plus for new comers, took me a bit to navigate the full potential of the app, but a great realistic way to move forward in this modern word.
