I had a very disappointing and…

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Gennev.
Before my appointment, I was told that my insurance would cover the visit. At the time of service, Gennev collected a $50 copay. However, only $30 was credited to my account, and I later found out that my insurance did not cover the visit at all.
The actual appointment itself lasted about five minutes. During that brief conversation, the doctor told me she could not help me. That was the entirety of the medical interaction.
Since then, for over one year, Gennev has continued to pursue me for the remaining balance of $130-. But the balance due is only $100-. Despite having already collected $50 at the time of service, they refuse to accept that amount as payment in full and are insisting on the entire balance.
This situation stems from inaccurate information provided upfront about insurance coverage, minimal time spent with the provider, and ongoing billing practices that feel unreasonable given the circumstances. I would strongly caution anyone considering Gennev to get all insurance and billing details in writing before scheduling an appointment.

I LOVED Jennifer Wagner but the one star is for the insurance team

I LOVED Jennifer Wagner, the Dietitian I worked with. I give her FIVE stars, but this is not about her. It's about the incompetent Insurance team I am still dealing with 10 months later after my last visit. I was told it was covered by insurance, but they did not tell me it was for only 3 visits per year. I went 2 visits over in 2024 and 1 visit over in 2025. On top of that, I was getting bills beyond the amount of my co-pay for the qualifying visits. I then had to do the legwork with my insurance company and call to find out all the details of why they were sending me these bills. It turns out they were using the wrong code, so now I am educating their team on what they are doing wrong when filing the claims. This issue was resolved 4 months later, but not without headaches along the way. The most frustrating part is that I could never speak to anyone! The phone number just directs you to email them. When you email them, you get an email follow-up on how the service was, but they don't really solve or clarify anything. Today, I just received another bill for 314.79! I called my insurance company again, and they explained that they submitted the bill for December 5, 2024, three times. The first time and second times, they used the wrong code. The third time, they got the code correct, but it was outside of the claim window. The good news is that I'm no longer responsible, but when I used the number on the bill to let them know what I learned, it just directed me to email them. Why bother with a phone number?! I just can't wait to see how long it will take to get this issue resolved. I want to get this right. I want to get it done. I want it over with. The irony is that as I write this, I'm so stressed and having a hot flash right now. It's the OPPOSITE of what they are supposed to be doing!

The experience with the doctor was…great. She was very knowledgeable.

The experience with the doctor was GREAT. Prior to the single telehealth visit I had, I checked MULTIPLE TIMES with Gennev to see if they took my insurance, and if they were considered "in-network" by my UHC HMO, I even gave them a copy of my insurance card. I was reassured no fewer than 5 times that the visit would be covered by my insurance. Color me surprised when I received a bill for close to $400. I emailed multiple times with Gennev, who directed me to my insurance company. I reached out to both my medical group and my insurance company, with the medical group telling me that the issue was with the insurance company, and the insurance company telling me that it was an issue with the medical group. I filed an appeal with UHC today, which I doubt they will approve, but it's my only course of action. Gennev has DECEPTIVE practices, and I fail to see why I am being held liable for their deception. Don't believe them if they tell you multiple times that they take your insurance, even if they do a "benefits check".

I feel like I was blown off

I feel like I was blown off! They told me to eat better. I eat very well and take vitamins. I already take vitamins. I was also told that my symptoms were a part of getting older and and there's really nothing they could do about it. A very common symptoms of perimenopause. Huge waste of money and time.

Not a Good Experience

Gennev is an okay concept, but I ran into major issues after about 6 months. I was prescribed a medication and thought it odd that I was being asked to schedule appointments so frequently. My most recent appointment 2 months ago was literally 2 minutes long. I told the doctor everything was good and I want to keep going with the medication (a low dose antidepressant) and to refill. Well after one renewal I'm told by the pharmacy I have no more renewals. Must be a mistake I told them, check with my provider. A week goes by, I'm out of pills and starting to experience withdrawals. I call Gennev, no I need to schedule an appointment to renew. The next appointment is 2 weeks away. I ask if I can please send the doctor a message to renew, everything is fine, nothing has changed. I ask them do I really need to pay a $75 copay (considered a specialist by my insurance) for a three minute virtual visit? Yes. Ah, this is how they make their money.... I was done. After a very hard week without the meds I got in with my primary care and got a 1 year prescription (and only had to pay my usual $25 copay). The Geneva doctor was kind and understanding, but not worth this cost or the hassle they put you through to renew a prescription that most doctors would prescribe for a year (or just touch base via email to review how things are going).

Overcharged for appointment

My experience with my doctor and Gennev left much to be desired. Despite already being on HRT, the doctor's assistance was limited, and the prescription she provided was prohibitively expensive, so I left it unfilled. The allotted 30 minutes for the introductory appointment proved insufficient.

As for Gennev's website, it was rife with issues. Registering and scheduling an appointment was a cumbersome process, exacerbated by receiving a cancellation notice at one point. Upon rebooking, I had to navigate the entire sign-up procedure again due to my information not being saved. To add insult to injury, I was charged for three appointments despite only attending one due to the fact that I had to repeat the sign up process which will not let you bypass the payment option.
I have since emailed them about the overcharges but have received no response.

A new company and off to bad start

This is a new company and off to a bad start for me. I would give them zero stars if that were possible. My inbox is filled with seventeen emails, and a handful of texts, with NO phone call follow-ups or voicemails.

I really wanted this to work -- a Telehealth specifically geared toward women of a certain age, dealing with menopause. A place to obtain ObGyn health services. But after multiple emails from them with what I would consider terrible grammar (in addition to typos on their website), I am moving on. No. Not because of their misspellings. But, because, since trying to make my initial appointment, it has been a literal daily technology-and-communication clusterf*ck. I guess customer service is dead. And "live" people no longer exist. Simple issues that needed to be resolved before my appointment, were taking 24+ hours between communication attempts to resolve. And most of which have still NOT been resolved. And since these issues were not resolved, they cancelled my first appointment on their end. And this is after they already processed my payment for my so-called appointment.

I believe the world of tele-health is opening up for practitioners. But the patients are getting the short end of the stick. The reason I was seeking a new ObGyn for HRT treatment was because the communication with my current doctor has been taking MONTHS between inquiries and messages.

So back to the drawing board on this one...
