A really interesting enjoyable 3hrs. Will book a longer session next time.

I got in touch with Jim at forage box for help organising a private foraging workshop for my best friend's hen party. We wanted to do a 'Hen of the Woods' because the bride to be loves foraging and spending time outdoors! Jim paired us with the wonderfully talented Izzy Johns (@rightsforweeds) who was incredible and made the day so special and different for everyone. With a heady mix of folklore, stories, group discussions, tasting and learning it was an unforgettable day even though we had torrential rain throughout! Izzy is a truly special person and incredibly knowledgable. You could tell she took so much care in organising the day and even finished with a delicious selection of homemade treats made with foraged ingredients. We also started the rather damp walk with some hot dandelion root coffee which was surprisingly tasty and chocolatey. Thank you Jim and Izzy for making this event the hen party of our dreams!

I attended a 5 hour Forage & Feast event led by Jim at Alderley Edge - a beautiful woodland location which was easy to find.
I learnt so much and the time just flew! - Jim has such a wealth of knowledge and his approachable style encouraged participation and questions which made the event really enjoyable.
The feast at the end of the day was incredibly varied and so tasty! I will definitely be attending another event. Thank you.

Very knowledgeable guide (Lewis) aided by his partner. Able to convey his passion for foraging in a totally respectful way for nature and other wildlife. Gave over and above of his time. Great tasting of food on the way round and plenty of snack at the end of the session

The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Jim was friendly, professional and very experienced in the field of foraging. The session was interesting, informative and clearly explained throughout. I learnt so much during the three hour Coastal Forage and Cook and as a foodie, will definitely be including examples of what we found into my cooking at home. It had been a while since I had visited Arnside and it was the perfect setting for the event.
The weather was kind to us and as we made our way along the beautiful coast, Jim stopped at intervals and explained in detail exactly what we were looking for showing us examples before tasting and it was lovely to share the experience with like minded people. I loved the cooking part and working together to cook and enjoy our mornings' gatherings.
I have been interested in foraging for a while and wanted to learn more about the bounty that nature has to offer.
The event was well orgainised and the location was very easy to find.

An absolutely GREAT and inspiring event run with enthusiasm, insight and great knowledge on the principles and ethics of foraging. We learnt how to identify 6 foraged plants and Jim used his group skills to coordinate 16 interested and inspired folk to cook a delicious meal enhanced by a couple of tasty treats from Jim's own kitchen. All in all a superb event!

Very much enjoyed our experience foraging for coastal plants. Jim was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable and safety aware. Everyone was given the chance (under supervision) to identify, pick and taste each of the foraged plants in situ. We covered a good amount of plants in the time available and I now feel confident to go out and forage for them by myself. The session ended with a little gourmet cooking session where Jim prepared our foraged harvest for us. I particularly recommend the Sea Orache!

Jim was very knowledgeable, fun and interesting. A great day with a lovely snack at the end. Would definitely recommend it.

Emily Hall, is a real green witch of Sevenoaks! Such a delight to hear her speak with such passion about plants.
After all what's all the rage about foraging anyways? That's what I typically think when it comes to spending time outside in the rain looking down at weeds. Yet when it comes to sharing company with others who all laugh off the weather and soak up the amazing vibes, nothing quite beats a bit of learning and laughter. Simply wow. What a lot to take in, all which felt so natural.
With ease Emily the instructor put forward each and every plant with such a high standard. Since when could some simple plants become so useful, as medicines, foods, even as a delightful tea? I love tea!
10/10 Would recommend, worth travelling for.

My husband and I had a fantastic day. Jim had a wealth of information which was not only useful but also puts safety when foraging as upmost importance.
We tried foods that we would never have tried normally which was really fun. The day was run really well and we would definitely attend again.

We had such an incredible morning, Pete was so knowledgeable and friendly, and really made the information relevant and exciting. I was mind blown by how much we went through in such a small area, we will definitely be joining another one!

Freya was amazing so attentive and taught us so much about what you can eat from the wild

We had a fantastic afternoon despite the rain! Jim was a fascinating and knowledgeable guide and taught us all a huge amount during the time we spent with him. He provided us with a delicious foraged snack at the end and sent excellent follow up information. Thoroughly recommend this.

Jim was a great foraging guide. The talk and taste and identifying done as a group together worked really well. I learned a lot about the edible plants around the woodland and the less edible ones too! I will be on the lookout for at least 8 of the plants I learned about today. A cute end to the walk was when Jim cooked up some food we had all foraged together. Thanks for a lovely afternoon…. Nat and Oli

Very interesting day out set in beautiful surroundings. Jim really knows his stuff and really looked after us taking our safety very seriously but also having good fun. The day ended with a delicious meal that Jim himself had foraged and prepared for us.
Good value for money.
Would definitely recommend and intend to book another course later in the year ourselves.
