I engaged Faraday Keynes in 09/25 to prepare accounts for my small ltd co, using Quikfile package. I was allocated one accountant (Omer), who moved me through the process expertly and quickly. He clearly has a comprehensive list of checks, all relevant to my business. And he correctly posted some journals required. He challenged some of my numbers, a v useful fresh pair of eyes. Accounts and CT returns all submitted in good time. Excellent service and value for money, thank you. NW

I signed up with Faraday Keynes via Quickfile based on their advertised £1x fixed fee for preparing my company accounts and CT600. After supplying the information, the accountant suddenly claimed my records were “non-compliant” and unilaterally added £3x fee extra – without warning, without giving me a chance to fix anything, and without any agreement. An invoice for £4x fee was issued despite no work being completed.

Note: Quickfile T&C clearly states "You will be given a chance to put things right. If you cannot or don't have time for it, an extra fee can be added", both are not true for me as I can and have time to fix those record, discrepancies/issues have been resolved now quite easily.

What concerned me most was that the accountant then logged into my QuickFile account and posted an internal journal entry for the disputed inflated invoice without my approval!!

It felt like a “lower fee to attract you, then aggressively increase cost and issue threats” situation. When I questioned the unexpected increase, the response quickly escalated into aggressive threats of legal action over an invoice I never agreed to. This is not acceptable behaviour for a professional accounting firm.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their service.
