Update: This matter has since been resolved. The cancellation fee was waived, and the account was withdrawn from collections. I appreciate the eventual resolution of the issue.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any home services company.
Homeowners, be extremely careful before signing anything with My Equity Solar!!!
I signed a solar project with them months ago, and everything seemed fine at first. But after the site survey, they attempted to increase my monthly payment from what we had originally agreed on. That alone already made me lose trust, and I immediately requested to cancel the project.
What happened next was unbelievable:
• I requested cancellation multiple times in writing.
• Palmetto (the financing/lease company) officially confirmed my project was cancelled.
• Despite this, My Equity Solar kept trying to push the installation forward, even scheduling crews to come to my home after the cancellation was already confirmed.
• Then they tried to force me to pay a $3,000 cancellation “fee” even though no installation ever began, no equipment was delivered, and the project had been cancelled well in advance.
• After I refused to pay an unfair charge, they sent my name to a debt collector, even though the project was cancelled and they provided no service whatsoever.
This has been one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences I’ve had as a homeowner. No one should have to deal with pressure, surprise charges, threats of collections, or attempts to push forward an installation that has already been cancelled.
If you’re considering solar, please do your research and be extremely cautious.
My experience with My Equity Solar was a complete nightmare, and I hope this review helps other homeowners avoid going through the same situation!
