As a professional in both the legal and healthcare fields, I expect a certain level of diligence when inquiring about critical infrastructure. I submitted a detailed, technical Request for Quote (RFQ) to **Drinkable Air Technologies** for a C3 Marine unit to serve as the primary water source for my 38-foot liveaboard vessel.
My inquiry was not a request for a retail link; it was a professional request for further detailed information, including a "Marine-Ready" outfitting package, technical verification regarding how the unit's compressor handles surge loads on a **Victron Energy Pure Sine Wave Inverter** and a quote for essential maritime spares, specifically 1/4" Ozone Check Valves to protect the electronics from backflow during vessel motion as well as some other items.
The response I received from the **Chief Operating Officer (COO), Michael Bourgon**, was shockingly dismissive. Rather than addressing the technical safety and compatibility questions of a customer ready to spend $1,600+ and possibly upwards to $2,200, he simply sent a generic link to their "Energy Systems Central" retail site, information I had clearly already reviewed.
This "laissez-faire" attitude from a C-suite executive is a massive red flag. If a company cannot provide basic technical due diligence during the sales process, I have zero confidence in the support they would provide if a system failed whether at home or at sea. Furthermore, this experience has completely halted my plans to advocate for their devices within the nursing facility where I am employed.
**Buyer Beware:**
The technology may be "flagship," but the leadership’s lack of attention to detail suggests they are not prepared to support professional maritime or institutional clients. I will be taking my business to a company that values technical accuracy and professional engagement.
