Prompt and reassuring response

You held my domain and my business hostage for three full days. I do not recommend this company in any way!!! I am currently looking for someone else.

I reported the problem on Friday Nov 14th, and got resolved the issue on Monday 17.
During these three days, which had a week-end in between, I got the problem solved!

This is excellent.

I’m a bit old-school, and all this website and online setup stuff is completely new (and honestly, a little scary) for me. But working with Dave and Donna from Energize has been an absolute pleasure. They’ve been so kind, patient, and incredibly understanding every step of the way. Nothing ever felt rushed or too technical—they explained things clearly and made me feel comfortable asking questions.

I can’t recommend their service highly enough. If you’re looking for a team that truly cares about their clients and goes the extra mile, Energize is the one to trust.

Quick response to acknowledge my request/issue and great follow-up

This is the worst website hosting organization ever. I will be switching as their servers are down yet again, and I can't access or send or receive email thanks to them. I have a business to run, and this is entirely unacceptable. The technical support offered is horrendous at best. Stay clear of this hosting company.

I warned Energized Web Hosting about cybersecurity breaches multiple times and I was ignored!

I had an unmanaged VPS service at this company. The price was reasonable. There are cheaper services and there are more expensive services. This may or may not meet your needs.

The major concern is that the network and VPS were compromised numerous times and there was no sense of urgency on Mark's part, nor did he ever take any action to close the security hole(s) allowing attackers in.

These VPS are built off a common image and share a network, by definition, since this is a hosting company.

It stands to reason, and should be logical to anyone older than age 3, that if one VPS on the network has been compromised, there is a high risk that others will soon follow.

There's either a breach in the firewall or an exploit in the Windows build being harnessed to launch the attack.

Mark either doesn't understand this or doesn't want to invest the effort to close the security hole.

That just doesn't work for me.

If you are a scammer looking for an insecure box so you have plausible deniability when the authorities come looking for you, this service may work for you. You see, the VPS hosted here are compromised so many times per day that there's no way to tie activity back to any one person.

Therefore my ratings are:

For honest people: Rating = 0

For cybercriminal or scammer: Rating =9

You can be absolutely guaranteed that your activities will not be monitored here and you can feel free to run anything you please with reckless abandon.

Personally, I prefer a secure server only I can access, and I can't afford to be associated with a business like this any longer.

BTW, Mark, there is absolutely extensive evidence, which I retained, that your network has been breached.

This evidence is concrete and incontrovertible no matter how many times you deny it or on how many sites.

It has nothing to do with any programs I was running on the VPS, since I didn't install anything that would open a TCP port or introduce a security hole.

This includes evidence of SPAM being sent through the VPS Mark configured and deployed on his network.

Since I didn't configure the VPS, nor did I send the SPAM, it logically follows that both the network and the Windows VPS image Mark uses have been breached.

Mark himself provided evidence of the SPAM originating from his network and is now claiming his network is secure, so it's getting hard to keep track of which statements are lies and which are merely creative misrepresentations of the facts as he decided to portray them that day.

When your hosting company has no rules or policies, it's difficult to later state what they are. And when you know nothing about operating systems and client or network security, it's easy to blame your customer instead of looking inward.

Also, and just so I'm 100% clear on the nature of the breach, numerous Windows Administrator accounts were being created on a daily basis and those accounts were installing any software they liked. Since only Mark and I previously had (distinct) Administrator accounts on the VPS, and since I know I didn't leak the password, you can do the math and figure out what is going on.

Personally, I like to do business with people I can trust, not people who blame me for security breaches they failed to stop.

If you value your professional reputation, as I do, don't host anything here, because you could later find yourself liable when the next breach occurs.

And it most certainly will with Mark's clear lack of cybersecurity awareness and concern.

I'm not looking for any reimbursement or remuneration to take down my negative review. I work in the technology field and my obligation is simply to inform the public.

I'll just say you don't even know how to install Windows and leave it at that. Call it managed, unmanaged, or any other name you like. You're in over your head.

You keep playing semantic games, Mark, but the bottom line is that you ignored the threat when I reported it as you did with the numerous requests to reprovision the VPS. Therefore, you left an insecure and unsecured Windows machine on your network, which is an open invitation for more hackers to attack.

Furthermore, you weren't interested in identifying the underlying vulnerability that allowed the attackers in, as I was. If it happened to me on your standard Windows build, it can and will happen to others. Your base Windows image needs to be hardened before you ever deliver the VPS to the client.

You protest too much, methinks.

Divert some of the energy manipulating the truthful online reviews into cracking some books about Windows and networking instead.

This review will stand as-is.

New to this host as they bought my older host out. I've had a couple issues with the transfer but Energizedit.com folks handled it well.

EWH bought my previous webhost. The prices have been better, the team more responsive, and more modern features are available for site management. So far it's been a great experience.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Nothing but trouble since they took over the hosting. I'm trying to migrate the last domain away from them and I have no access to anything and no response from them for days. Disgraceful.

Energized IT has always been very quick to respond to any issues which arise and even better, resolve them ASAP. Highly Recommended!
