Best coach ever!
I have been working with Emma for 5 years and it has been an amazing experience since day 1. Emma truly cares about her clients and genuinely wants to set you up for success with realistic goals. She is caring, supportive, the VERY BEST cheerleader but has the perfect balance of accountability. She understands that balance is key to our success and it is necessary to be sustainable. As much as she cares about helping with physique goals, she cares about our mental health even more because she knows physical health and mental health go hand in hand. I have referred several friends to Emma and will continue to do so because she has changed my life for the better. I am not only grateful for the changes to my physique but the changes to my mindset along the way. She has taught me that it’s ok to get off track and to give myself grace. We don’t need to be perfect, we just need to stay consistent Emma is a wonderful human being and I am honored to be able to work with her.
Knowledgeable and supportive coaches
I have been training with Emma for over a year now and I can honestly say it’s really changed my life for the better. I have never felt so confident and comfortable in my own skin. I’ve had ups and downs highs and lows but Emma and her team are so incredibly supportive and talented.
The coaching is phenomenal and the app is easy to use. Everyone is very inclusive whether you post about your experience or not in the groups and online.
I’ve never felt so confident in my life.
I have changed my body composition and my mental health has improved significantly since starting I have changed my life completely. From having life saving surgery and feeling so lost and mentally exhausted. I have put the work in and worked very closely with Emma and she has truly helped me through the worst times. She is understanding and so supportive not only is she successful she is incredibly knowledgeable! I highly recommend coaching with Empower.
It’s no exaggeration when I say doing…
It’s no exaggeration when I say doing this program seriously changed my life! It helped me to fall in love with fitness which has given me so much confidence and energy for life. I lost 10kg but that wasn’t even the best part - the part I am most proud of is how much my mindset shifted. The coaches are so supportive and they not only guide you but also teach you so much too. Highly recommend even if you don’t want to lose weight!!!
If I could give 100000 stars!!
When I first started coaching with Empower, I wasn’t just struggling with food, I was in an abusive relationship and struggling with binge eating to soothe my trauma. I felt disconnected from myself, ashamed of my eating patterns, exhausted from shame, and honestly just small in every sense of the word.
Emma met me with so much empathy, compassion and vulnerability. There was never judgment. Never pressure. Just understanding and steady support. She didn’t just give me a plan, she truly coached me.
As we worked on rebuilding my relationship with food, something even bigger started to shift. I stopped punishing my body. I started fuelling it. I got stronger physically, but more importantly, mentally. And with that strength came clarity.
Through her unwavering support, I found the courage to leave that relationship.
Healing my relationship with food and prioritising myself through discipline and routine gave me the foundation to heal my relationship with myself. And that changed everything. My body transformed, but so did my standards, my confidence, my boundaries, my whole mindset.
Emma helped me build strength in the gym, restore trust in my body, calm the binge-restrict cycle, and create a sustainable way of living. But beyond that, she helped me remember who I was and who I was capable of becoming!!
If you’re looking for a coach who understands that fitness is deeply emotional, deeply personal, and about so much more than the scale, she is that person 🤍
Forever grateful to Emma!! She is priceless and worth every investment.
Best thing I did
I signed up to empower 2 years ago now and it’s the best investment in myself that I ever made.
Emma has helped me loose 16kg but also help me understand macros, enjoy my workouts, enjoy my food and guide me in implementing this in my life. She always makes me feel good and I love she cares about your mental health as well as your physical!
10/10 coaching!!
I started coaching with Emma back in August and it’s been nothing short of amazing! I actually started as I wanted to reverse diet after being on low calories for a long time, i’m now eating WAY more than I was and seeing incredible results. Not only is my physique changing and i’m getting stronger, but my mindset has completely shifted too🥹 Genuinely so grateful to have the constant support and I couldn’t do it alone!
Amazing!!
This has been a pretty life changing process for me. I had a binge eating disorder and now haven't binged for months. Not only did Empower help change my body, but also my relationship with food and fitness too. I feel confident in myself for the first time in years. The constant support and encouragement given is exactly what I needed!
Incredibly disappointing
I previously used Empower Coaching 3 years ago and had a great experience. After enquiring to lose weight postpartum recently, the experience has been incredibly disappointing and unfortunatley the negative reviews ring true. The customer service and general willingness of the team to help or provide information has been shocking! I will be signing up with a different provider!
Awful was the worst app and wouldn’t ever sign up again …
Awful was the worst app and wouldn’t link with anything and the worst support, took your money for no actual help! Make you sign up for months and ridiculously expensive, had to cancel through my bank eventually and wasted a lot of money! I was already a fitness fanatic but wanted more food guidance but recipes were too hard to follow and foods you said you didn’t like they kept putting back into the plan! Not personalised atall generic and money grabbing worst 3 months weight loss/food advice ever
This coaching was a massive waste of my…
This coaching was a massive waste of my money. I can’t believe I spent £130 a month for nearly a year and didn’t really lose any weight. Also this was a time when I was actually a decent weight but didn’t realise it. If anything I learnt terrible habits from this coaching like eating biscoff and other sweet things which made me put on weight.
One of the worst experiences of my…
One of the worst experiences of my life. Please do not enroll with this program!
I was so excited to join with empower, I loved Emma’s account where she would show before and after pictures of her clients & I was excited to be able to eat a range of meals whilst being able to build muscle.
The reality however, was absolutely terrible.
Questionable experience and qualifications:
I told Emma that I wanted to add 5kg of muscle (I had no idea what I was asking but I’m not the expert, so I tried my best to communicate what I wanted as best as I could)
She just got me 5kg heavier (all fat) and was focused on the number on the scale rather than how I actually looked.
Anyone with decent experience in coaching would know from my pictures that I'm getting out of shape and not building any muscle!!!
I was in the worst shape of my life, which was horrible as I put all my trust in Emma. There were a few moments where I questioned what she was doing and she kept reassuring me that all was well and the scale going up was the right way forward.
I was desperate to gain muscle and I was paying £130 per month to rely on her, rather than myself, so I just went with it!!
Im less desperate now and more knowledgable. I have dropped the body fat and managed to gain muscle all by myself with no bloody qualifications!
Terrible meal plans:
Most of her meal plans are full of sugar and processed food. I was eating so much rubbish and dairy, that I was sick for a few weeks. It got so bad I had to get an ultra scan. I hear that she suffers from ED, so I'm wondering if her macros and plans are causing more harm than benefit?! Does she actually know what healthy looks like?
Personalisation:
Honestly, now I'm more knowledgable and have managed to coach myself (lol) I have to say there is no personalisation at all. I signed up to the app that she uses, and it pretty much works it out for you. She didn’t keep tabs on my progression as much as she should have. She relied on what the app told her to do and kept going with it even though I was obviously getting out of shape.
Her personal brand:
It honestly annoys me that I signed up when she promoted muscle gain & would talk about how she suffered being skinny and now she’s much happier.
But then all of a sudden she got extremely skinny then hated on the pics that initially sold to me and others. It seems like she changes the narrative to fit whatever she is going through.
I honestly do not think she’s ethical. I think she’s suffering from an ED, confused, inexperienced & a little lost. If you look back at her instagram pics you will see phases of where she hates being skinny, then loves being skinny; hates being a gym girl who lifts heavy then loves it. Total contradictions.
Honestly, if you want to build muscle, save your £130 per month and watch YouTubers like Coach Greg and Lyle McDonald, they pretty much tell you what to do for free.
There’s so many actual scientists and researchers in muscle building that literally give knowledge away for FREE!
If you’re unable to hold yourself accountable, ask your friends if they can help or put your money towards a decent in-person PT, who will most likely give you advice within the package and will ensure you work hard at the gym! You will end up falling in love with the gym & you will automatically want to learn more about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle on your own terms and based on your own lifestyle.
A lot of these influencers with 100k plus followers are just trying to sell you something that helps them make money and can hook you in. They honestly don’t care about you.
(Edited to say, that all of the positive reviews are when clients have worked with people in her team who have now left Empower. Whatever you do, do not get coaching by Emma! She’s a content creator, not a fitness coach)
Coaches are more like cheerleaders…
Not the online experience I was hoping for. Like others have said, it feels very structured and promising at the start, but as the weeks roll by the lack of actual coaching, responsiveness, and adaptability begin to show. Nice people, but perhaps not the most qualified when it comes to personal training.
App setup: 4/5
User friendly app. Nice chat feature with your coach. Well organized. Too many separate groups that require special invites. Offers a mediocre quantity of “lessons” such as meditation and yoga.
Coaches: 2-3/5
Friendly and personable at best. Not once have I received feedback on how my targeted muscle groups were progressing. Most feedback was focused on mental health instead of physical progression. Coaches are more like cheerleaders.
Workouts: 3/5
Good tutorials. Love the additional comments on how to go about the different sets. Easy to see numerical progress. Limited to one body group at a time (in my experience). Very intense and unrealistic to stick to one targeted muscle group within the week. On your own to figure out exercises to fill in the other days. Expectation of only 1 rest day a week.
Meals: 3/5
Hit or miss. Only given 4 choices per meal per week. No access to old recipes unless you favorite them.
Feedback: 2/5
Not very personable. Feels like they say the same thing every week during check in. Give very surface level advice.
Previously used this company for online…
Previously used this company for online coaching and had concerns from the offset . This was during a period where Emma ‘was in the best shape or mindset of her life ‘ but now uses same pics for a before and after where. She’s is clearly suffering from a serious problem herself and I do not not think she should be allowed to coach other women whilst clearly not ok .
Personal trainers are NOT qualified to give people macro nutrient breakdowns in their food and it is legally not something she should be doing . People like this need to be stopped .
Body Recomp
I have stopped & started god knows how many plans, followed God knows how many influences & downloaded God knows how many apps. Empower has changed my life. It's the only plan I have ever been consistent with. My relationship with food has never been better & the results I am.seeing physically & mentally. Lucy my coach has been incredible i cannot thank her enough. Honestly empower is the best out there I cannot recommend it enough.
Positive experience
I have had a really positive experience with Empower. Lucy who was my coach was amazing and so motivational. I genuinely believe that she has changed my lifestyle for the better.
The meal plans are so easy to follow and are delicious.
Empower is awful
Empower is awful. They provide cookie cutter plans, they will put you on very low calories, and many of their responses feel automated and unhelpful, they never fully answer questions. Emma is very good about posting online and making her coaching/life seem a lot more fabulous than it is. Take one look at her Instagram and you’ll see she’s in an active ED, which is very dangerous for her clients. She’ll gladly take your money, use it for her fabulous “therapeutic getaways” while teaching you to start your own ED. I’m very worried about clients that join her coaching that have had already suffered from ED’s in the past. Past coaches and clients are starting to talk about how they’ve developed disordered eating from following Emma’s advice. This company should be permanently closed. I’m actually surprised there haven’t yet been lawsuits.
You are paying for a cookie cutter plan.
I have to say to begin with I was really excited about empower, the meals looked great and the communication was great. Over time as others have commented, the communication lacked, foods I hated were added in week after week despite telling whoever the coach was that I didn’t like them. The answers were very generic and i couldn’t tell you who my coach was. I lost weight, but of course I did, they took me down to 1250 calories. For someone who’s got High activity levels this is dangerous. I was with them for 18 months. Yes I lost a lot of weight, and yes I learnt a lot but it’s all about calories and eating lots of fake foods with this coaching app. Yes I like chocolate but they made me question whether I had an eating disorder by the promotion of this. In fact I actually do just like a bit of chocolate - and that’s ok! I would say if you are someone with no gym experience it would be ok, or someone who doesn’t understand portion control.
Your average person or someone with eating disorders should stay away. It’s a real shame whatever has happened to this business to start with it was great, I’d imagine because many of the coaches have left. I’m not sure if more personal issues have gotten in the way, but don’t think for one second Emma is the person coaching you, she’s an influencer who is a business woman making a lot of money and going on a lot of holidays. I would also say the marketing is misleading saying this is not a cookie cutter plan, if you want something not in the recipe bank, they’ll just tell you to skip a meal which isn’t very helpful!!
Personal and amazing!
After seeing the negative reviews I felt I needed to back Empower!!
I joined empower about 3 years ago wanting to change my lifestyle rather than loose weight quick. I had Emma as my coach who was just amazing.
I lost over 10kg with Emma and that was through a calorie deficit of only a couple of hundred NOT an unhealthy amount which some of the negative comments say.
Empower is exactly that, the coaches and team empower you to make lifestyle changes and choices not to dictate what you can and can’t eat!! If you need that then go to bloody weight watchers.
My weekly check ins were personal to me and I looked forward to them! Emma and my other coach dropped me messages in the week to see how I was getting on with eating and just general catch up.
I sadly was going through a lot during my time at empower and I don’t think I’d of got through it without their support and care. I felt so isolated at one point but Emma regularly checking got me out of a pretty bad headspace.
Empower didn’t just help me loose weight and create better habits, they helped me gain confidence and put myself first which I am forever grateful for.
There’s only one word to describe this
There’s only one word to describe this: toxic!
Emma is great at posting content that makes out that if you’re an Empower client, you’ll have true food freedom and balance.
Behind the scenes she lowkey promotes ED behaviour, unhealthy eating patterns.
This coaching company needs to be investigated.
If you have a history of disordered eating, PLEASE PLEASE stay away.
All of her previous colleagues who have actual nutrition and training credentials have left. You have to ask why! They no longer want to be associated with such toxic and dangerous advice.
And now her sister, who has ZERO experience, is a coach. You’re paying circa £200-300 for someone with zero experience to coach you. Don’t do it !!!!
Avoid this fraudulent business like your life depends on it
Great for one month — then the cracks begin to show
I started this app with high hopes. The first month was genuinely motivating — everything from meal plans to workouts was conveniently in one place, which made staying on track feel easy and enjoyable. I felt like I was finally investing in myself, and the price seemed justified… at first.
But once I entered the second month, it quickly became clear that the “coaching” aspect — the part that supposedly sets this app apart — is extremely surface-level.
Each week, you’re prompted to complete a check-in to help your coach understand what’s working for you: which workouts you enjoyed, how the meals were, how your weight has changed, etc. You’d assume this is where the personalised coaching magic happens. Unfortunately, it feels more like a box-ticking exercise.
I gave clear feedback multiple times — like wanting to avoid gluten or not liking certain meals — yet those foods kept showing up in my plans. When I was between gyms during a house move, I requested home workouts. What I received? A plan that still included machine-based exercises. It started to feel like no one was actually paying attention.
And then there’s the 30-day cancellation policy. You’re told at the beginning of your contract (mine was 3 months) that you need to give 30 days’ notice to cancel — fair enough. But I never received any reminder, despite the app having an always-on chat function where coaches regularly contact you. A quick heads-up would have been easy — and respectful.
In my final month, I decided to give it one last proper go. On my first check-in, I’d hit my goal weight — a big milestone. But my coach didn’t acknowledge it at all. No congratulations, no recognition. It was incredibly demotivating and made me question whether they even read the check-ins.
In summary: This app is decent for a kickstart — the first month is helpful if you’re feeling lost and need structure. But after that, the value drops off fast. The coaching is impersonal, the attention to detail is poor, and the price just doesn’t reflect the service. You’ll likely get the same tools for a fraction of the cost elsewhere — without the false promise of “personalised coaching.”
