Fantastic holiday

Staff were brilliant, always pleasant and helpful . Meals first class, absolutely no problem anywhere

River levels meant our itinerary was significantly altered however Emerald kept us fully informed of all our options and we decided to go ahead and the holiday was outstanding in every aspect- such brilliant staff - cant speak highly enough of Emerald Cruises

The crew were brilliant and we felt well taken care of despite the problems with sooo many changes in the itinerary and ship due to the water issues.
It was a shame that many destinations were missed but that couldn’t be helped and we still enjoyed our trip.

Although we had to travel some distances by Coach due to low Water level we were well looked after and compensated for what we missed.
The Cruise Director Mikey was outstanding .

The Danube cruise 01/08/26 was not a cruise
We did not cruise at all during the day (so that we could see some of the river and adjoining countryside)
We moored up at several cities and were “coached around” to various positions
The cruise ended 2 days early and we were put up in a hotel in Budapest
It was more a coach holiday that a cruise
Luckily we had a really good cruise director in “Mikey” who was always available to assist passengers and went above and beyond his role to make up for the lack of a cruise
The compensation of £400 per person did mot take into account the class of cabin that had been booked , we booked an “owners suite” and yet we had to accept the same compensation as someone who booked the cheapest cabin on the ship

The yacht is very comfortable and luxurious. We ate extremely well. The staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. It was a lovely, relaxing experience.

I have enjoyed the physical Emerald river cruises. However, their customer services not so much. My recent cruise up the Rhone river was supposed to include all flight expenses, it did not. The Air France return tickets booked by Emerald from UK to Marseille did not include the cost of selecting seats, which was mandatory, these seats cost me £167 for myself and wife. Emerald refused to pick up this cost. The result of this is that I will not book with them again.

We booked a cruise on the Danube from Regensburg to Budapest. The Company knew well in advance there was no water on the Danube and deliberately misled us. They were completely disingenuous. The boat was just a hotel and all travel was by coach. We did not book a coach trip. We were continually packing and unpacking our cases as we moved from boat to boat to hotel. The company was rude and unhelpful in dealing with the situation. This was an extremely expensive trip and the compensation offered was derisory. Beware!

Excellent food and service on the two ships we were on

Met our high expectations. All staff from the captain through to the cleaning staff and engine room technician were amazing.

The Douro is beautiful, but getting very busy river. (Too many ships ! ) compared to 2 years ago (we were on Scenic)
The crew are excellent nothing is to much trouble .

Well organised from start to finish. The boat was comfortable with sun deck area, small gym and pool. Bar and dining very good. Rooms serviced daily. The crew friendly and provided a good service. Tours and activities were interesting and well run.
Low water levels involved a change of boat halfway through the week but this was managed efficiently by the crew.

From the beginning of the cruise until the end of the cruise it cannot be faltered

Excellent ship and crew. We were absolutely bowled over by how neat and tidy everything was around the ship. And all of the crew we interacted with were friendly, helpful and very approachable. The food was excellent too, with great choices available at every meal. So good we booked for another cruise before we disembarked.
