I was granted a free boiler under this scheme. It went wrong right from the start. The surveyor who came stated system was compatible for the boiler installation saying the gas pressure was 21. I was sent installers from The Blue Chip Heating Solutions from Oldham not a local company which I assumed would be used. The installers also said the gas pressure was 21. This is all written on the documents they supplied. The work carried out was appalling. During work water was running down walls and out of light switches. Black substance was running down an alcove wall. Carpets and decorations were ruined in 4 rooms. Outside brickwork was done using bricks from my garden with no cement between them so rain water came into my kitchen. A downpipe was broken and left so rain water flooded the patio. I could go on with a long list of faults. When I asked what was wrong I was told to ‘shut up woman’. Being on my own and elderly I felt threatened. They went out to their van and I assumed they were getting equipment to rectify the faults. However they got into the van and drove away. Leaving me in a ruin of a house. I contacted The Gas Safe Register who sent an engineer. He said the gas pressure was only 11 not 21 and no way should the boiler have been installed. He stated it was at least a 2/3 day job and that it was impossible to install it in a day which had been done. It had not been done to manufacturers instructions. He said it was the worst he had ever seen. He declared it at risk and shut it down. I was without heating and hot water for 6 months trying to get the company to fix the problems. I have photos and videos of all the problems. I still have no heating in the kitchen or bathroom. It has cost me all my savings to put things right safely. There is no government department dealing with the problems of this scheme. I am still trying to get some recompense but think this is unlikely to happen. I can’t be the only person in the country to have problems with this scheme. It must be costing the government millions in dodgy workmanship with no sign of help anywhere. It was the worst decision I have ever made choosing to have this scheme.

I received a call from a company regarding the "free boiler scheme". However, once they had my address they stated that looking at it, presumably on google, that they could tell that it didn't fit their requirements for a new boiler. How they can tell what goes on inside a house when looking only at the outside is a mystery. I may be doing them a disservice but I am now going to worry myself sick that they have my details and that it is probably a scam so I have a lot to worry about. I know what is wrong with not just the boiler but a whole host of other problems which they apparently deal with, for free. But hey, there's nothing like a free lunch right! Better luck next time.

I would like to say everything went well however I’m not well and the two men that came to my home started at 830am and didn’t leave till 730 pm . This was obviously a two day job however they came from Birmingham to Norfolk so wanted to complete the same day. They left a lot of rubbish everywhere, the brick work to fill an old flue gap is terribly executed. Looks like a child has done it. I am happy with the work in respect of the installation of the boiler though. It was way to long of a day for me and I suffered for days after as I couldn’t go to bed/ sleep , I’m missing my timer control that was not needed for the new installation and it cost me a lot of money only a couple of years ago and I could have reused that myself as I felt that it was my property so I’m unhappy about that it wasnt left. The chaps were great though so I will contact them direct as I’m sure it was accidentally removed and hope they can post it back to me . Overall I am happy however consideration should be taken that sending someone 4 hours away to do a job is probably not the best .
