Had my Inmode minifx done at EC CLINIC – really amazing experience! The technician was super caring and professional,explaining everything clearly and making sure I felt comfortable during the whole time. The lounge feels cozy and welcoming, and the treatment room is very private which is quite good!

High-Pressure Sales, Poor Professionalism, and Manipulative Tactics

I feel compelled to warn others about this clinic’s aggressive sales tactics and overall lack of professionalism. Every customer is systematically pressured into spending over £3000, and the sales consultants — all Chinese — are essentially exploiting fellow Chinese clients with scripted strategies.

The therapists performing the treatments are quite young and lack experience. While the NHS-affiliated doctor on-site does hold formal qualifications, our communication was vague at best — I received no clear diagnosis or professional opinion, only evasive responses.

I initially came to this clinic after seeing a post from an Oxford influencer-Kate Zhu, which gave me the impression this was a legitimate, trustworthy place. My first consultation went well: the staff appeared friendly, enthusiastic, and shared many “lessons learned” from other clinics, which seemed helpful at the time.

However, during my second visit for a microneedling session, things started to feel off.
Before the treatment began, they attempted to upsell me skincare products. I clearly declined, stating I wouldn’t purchase anything that day. The “client coordinator” (essentially a salesperson) immediately changed her attitude — from warm to cold.

From there, everything became uncomfortable:

I was placed in a tiny, enclosed treatment room, unlike my first visit.

During the procedure — while my eyes were still closed and I couldn't see anything — she suddenly handed me a document and pushed me to sign it without explanation.

Right after the microneedling, even though my face was still visibly damaged, she resumed hard-selling products, insisting I “must stock up two bottles.”

When I refused and firmly stated I would only pay for single sessions, she deliberately quoted a price £400 higher than what I had on record — and only corrected it when I showed her a screenshot. She then claimed it was “just a math mistake.”

Even worse was the aftercare guidance, which was full of contradictions and obvious errors.
When I asked for clarification, she messaged me a sloppy instruction list via WeChat that seemed copy-pasted from the internet.

It recommended applying sunscreen at night, which is absurd.

It also suggested using light-sensitive ingredients during the day.

And there were inconsistent steps — some staff said to start with toner, others said to begin with R2 growth factor. No clear, unified guidance at all.

On my third and final visit, I simply wanted to check on my skin’s recovery. The same client coordinator showed no interest in my healing, only kept repeating sales lines, trying to brainwash me into buying more.

“You really need to stock up two bottles,” she repeated multiple times.
At this point, I realized that every word I said was being used against me to push sales. I deeply regret having shared anything personal.

Perhaps the most unprofessional moment was when she promised me two procedures (microneedling + injection) could be done on the same day — and even booked them for the same time slot.
Then, the very next day, I got a sudden call and WeChat message saying:

“The therapist now says these two can’t be done together — you need to come in separately, today if possible.”

This level of forceful pushing and utter disorganization made me cancel all remaining treatments and cut off further contact.

High-pressure sales and privacy concerns – proceed with cautio

My experience at EC Clinic was very disappointing. The staff frequently pressured me to purchase expensive beauty products and packages, making me feel uncomfortable and rushed. The treatment results were not obvious, and I’m concerned about how they handle personal information, which made me feel uneasy. There was also emotional manipulation and persistent requests for payment. I strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this clinic and to be cautious.
