The paint appears normal, and goes on nicely. The finish is slightly chalky.

When the paint is dry, it forms a rubbery skin on the wall. If you dent or knick it, it comes off in big shreds of rubbery skin. Repainting to touch it up, it bubbles all over, and looks terrible. I'm going to have to re-do the whole room.

The other problem is that the paint tin is of really poor quality. The rim breaks up into rusty bits that then drop into the paint left in the tin. This happened within a month!

Avoid.

Earthborn Eggshell: Bought this in 'Smidgen' shade for a door to match bedroom walls. I primed first, then after first coat of eggshell - It looked like primer. Second coat did not improve much. Only after 3 coats did you see the colour coming through. After a fourth coat, it was just about OK - though it would be better with another 1 or 2 coats, as the finish isn't great, I'd had enough by now. The shade doesn't match the Claypaint on the walls too well either. Very disappointing, sold at a premium price but really it has no premium qualities, I would have been better colour matching.

I bought Eyebright colour - clay. Very pleased as it is the exact colour I wanted and visualized when I have read the description. The finish is smooth and pretty, feels and looks "fluffy". No smell and the paint consistency was excellent. I am going to order more soon. Thank you very much!

Contrary to the review before mine this review is based on the paint /company and actual use of the paint.

I purchased this paint almost 2 years ago. Despite this the paint needed hardly any mixing demonstrating the high solid contents. Two coats over deep red obliterated. Compared to auro paints which I have reviewed separately there is no comparison. It’s is flat Matt so helps disguise poor wall finishes to a Degree and it does have a rough texture if you are use to silk finishes.

It is thick and creamy you have virtually no splatter so much reduced protection needed. I got in better with brush finishing but that could be as much a reflection of my roller and rollering skills.

It’s not cheap but comparable to other good quality paints. And it has eco credentials.

I order Earthborn paint through a third party, I was told, order paint on the Wednesday and will be deliverd free on theThursday, ops four weeks on Thursday I could walk from Scotland to England quicker, email customer service no answer, would not recommend

I have been using Earthborn silicate masonry paint for six years now - its fabulous on the house walls but results are variable on stand alone rendered walls (sloping top not flat) ...even if one is extremely careful to follow the instructions exactly to the T particularly on temperature. This year, with the high rainfall, paint has flaked off massively just 9 months after application . Leaving a mess, and me disappointed. Conclusion: Great for house walls but be very careful with applying to stand alone walls particularly in high rainfall areas.

Good Paint, CRAP Customer Services. Read in conjunction with review of Celtic Sustainables. In summary, I have used Earthborn paints for several years and been a advocate on there behalf. This time however they in my book been useless. The details are in my review on Celtic Sustainables, so I don’t want to repeat the long saga, but in essence Earthborn did nothing apart from blame me for the paint job gone wrong. The outcome was that it was not my fault but with the machine used to mix paints by Celtic. Absolutely no help we’re Earthborn at all.

No odour excellent coverage paint... plus excellent customer service.
What more could you wish for?
Plus I don't normally pay a premium for paint, but in this case I am a true convert and will be using again.
Very pleased with it.
